Yes, because messengers are traditionally women, right?

You dumb fuck, he's going HIKING.

Messenger bags are for more short range/urban trips where you might have to remove or insert things more frequently.

Boy are you dumb.
>>
>>26299411
messenger bags look terrible, feel terrible to wear, and don't look mature unlike the superior classic backpack

Lel. Only hikers and middle schoolers actually use backpacks. Also, if they really wanted to be accurate to Hawaii, they'd had used the cloth drawstring bags that athletes use. They're everywhere here.

If you do nothing with your body besides carry the bag, sure. But that's not the bag messing you up, that's you messing yourself up. Lift more.

>>
>>26299656
>>26299668
No, but it completely defeats your argument that two-strap backpacks are for pre-schoolers. Manpurses are completely inefficient and only exist for metrosexual fashion purposes. You're the one defending looks over functionality, not me.
>>
>>26299584
>Only hikers and middle schoolers actually use backpacks.

...You mean like the player characters in Pokemon who hike through various rough terrain including mountains?
>>
>>26299692
you forgot to mention that none of the one strap fags have given a point to how two straps aren't manly as fuck when put aside a sissy purse bag
>>
>>26299692
Because fashion is all about looks over functionality. There's technically nothing wrong with a fanny pack from a functional perspective but we all know you look like a neckbeard wearing one.

Same with backpacks, if you're not hiking you shouldn't be wearing one past your school years
>>
>>26299761
>if you're not hiking you shouldn't be wearing one past your school years

But we are hiking.
>>
>a backpack
>for adults

literally doesn't exist. unless you're in the military carrying 150lbs of bullshit around you _literally_ look like a manchild tied to his mom's apron strings.
>>
>>26299761
>Same with backpacks, if you're not hiking you shouldn't be wearing one past your school years

That's sort of like saying every adult should own their own car.

Not everyone's needs, the places they go, or the shit they have to do, is going to be the same as yours, and isn't a standard for what's "acceptable".
>>
>>26299772
You're also walking around cities and hanging out with your friends. The only time you're actually in the wilderness is when you're walking between cities.
>>
>>26299411
I wore a messenger bag in my freshman year of high school, and all my friends called it a fag bag.
>>
>>26299819
There are standards for what's acceptable in terms of fashion, that's why some people actually look good and some people look like an unwashed neckbeard in a baggy tie-dye shirt with cargo pants and a backpack.
>>
I don't see why it matters, your character is like 14 anyway.
>>
>>26299823
Which is why it's better to just carry the backpack around, since you're going to be traveling in the wild more often than sitting around the city anyway.

Not everyone has to hide their power level.

But if you want to avoid talking to casuals, go right ahead, go stand silently in public and try not to make any eye contact. Maybe then they won't notice you and go home to laugh about what you wore.
>>
Someone needs to hurry up and invent a bag that doesn't look like garbage and actually does the job. Backpacks make you look like a manchild, drawstring bags not only look like shit but they can't hold shit, and messenger bags can be hit or miss. They can be unnecessarily bulky or too small and can't hold anything. Those bags ladies have can hardly hold anything either, unless you get one of those big beach bags but then you're gonna look like a tit.

I find a messenger bag to be much more useful. First of all it doesn't leave my back soaking wet on summer days, I sweat a lot, and a messenger bag leaves me looking a lot more presentable when I arrive at work. Also, most of what I carry in it is paper, with a backpack I would have to remove it from my back and search through a disorganized pile to find shit, then put it back. With my bag I can just open it up and look through neat, uncrushed and unfolded over paper.

I agree with you on all points, however my shoulders were fucked up after shitty physical labors jobs years ago. Two strap backpacks help to evenly distribute the weight so one shoulder in particular doesn't get super fucked up.

It's the bag of choice for Japs, who always try to be as fashionable as Westerners. Fucking tryhards, the lot of em.

A fannypack is honestly the best bag a trainer could use. A few pokeballs, poitions, and a pokedex.

Iv'e actually had two of these. Pretty good bags, tough as hell. Only problem i had was the strap broke on BOTH of them, same spot. Replaced it on the second one with a cheap one off a laptop bag, held up better.

Can't I just go bagless and cram everything into my pockets? It's unrealistic, but all the male bags in XY clashed with the outfits so no matter what you looked terrible.

Sorry, trainers don't have hammerspace unless they have bags.

I had no idea people were this passionate about bags...

I prefer backpacks. They are less damaging to your back, it's better for you to balance the weight on two shoulders and not one.
And I'm not fond of how the messenger bags tend to flop about if you have to run.

Canvas bags make it easier to quickly access what you need though. You can just open it and grab your stuff instead of having to take off the backpack and rummage through it. They also tend to be more organised.

But still, ergonomics over aesthetics for me personally.

What about one of those men-purse things? They're stylish and get the job done with very little bulk.

being manly ain't about style, kid. It's about grit

Absolutely awful. Only reason it's even passable is the guy himself looking decent, almost anything else that isn't a cheap graphic tee would look better.

The kind of delusional narcissists that insist this looks good would never be convinced of that though.
