I've been collecting on and off since BW and I remember when they announced full-art EX's were gonna be a thing, they said that the prints with the raised-line patterns were gonna be exclusive to the international card game? Is that still the case? Did that ever actually happen in the first place? The whole reason the full-arts look good IMO is because of the textures. The non-textured full art promos in some of the promo boxes I've seen just don't look nearly as good. I feel bad for Japan if that's the case.

160 off three discards, +20 off Muscle Band or Giovanni's to hit magic.
Then, you can drop a Float Stone, pop it back on the bench for the Bronzongs to recharge, then use the ability to slap the Stone back in your hand to recycle/replace with a Band or Belt.

Those decks are the cancer. It took years of injecting speed into the game to dethrone Toad, so much so that NM is now too strong in standard. Laserbank being gone is the sole reason Toad isn't winning anymore.
You can run a deck like Garchomp and get shit on by NM and Trev if you expect lots of EX heavy decks, or you can run Jolteon to counter NM, or Yveltal for the jack-of-all-trades effect and the anti Trev attackers, but in a meta with laser you will always base your decks around the Toad matchup. That's why Yveltal is so strong in expanded, you get one turn of items and can blow through your deck to get everything you'd need for the matchup, and if you face Trev you have the type advantage anyway.

Laser isn't part of the reprint set. Trust me I know laser was the cancer eating away at the tcg. Free residual damage and sleep in a trainer is insane. It upped the damage output of every single deck in the format allowing those with slightly more speed than others to be able to run through entire decks with ease and slower weaker ones with powerful effects to get the kos they needed faster and more efficiently. I'm fairly certain that Tpci realized their mistake immediately once they saw that it was being run at a 3 or 4 line in every single deck ever played regardless of style.

Well M Mewtwo is terrible so avoid that.
If you're going to build a Giratina deck there are 3 decks to build:
Toad/Tina: runs a couple Toad and a couple Tina, runs a shit ton of disruption cards. Arguably the most popular and effective variant because it slows down the faster decks in the meta. But it relies on DCE and DDE making it susceptible to special energy hate.
Tyrantrum/Tina/Bronzong: runs a couple Tyrantrum EX and a couple Tina. Uses Bronzong PHF for energy acceleration. Runs Sky Field for big ass bench. Pure aggro.
Tina/Reshiram: Tina is the primary attacker in this deck. Reshiram ROS is the energy accelerator here. Hydreigon EX provides free retreat. Flareon EX works as a secondary attacker.

Greninja or Toad are the only really competitively viable waters. Both are a bit complicated to play but not too bad.

Greninja BREAK is the best "water deck" at the moment, but you can also make a fast Gyarados deck or and Mega Gyarados deck.
The only differences between the two is that the non-mega deck cost less packs to build, and maxes out at 150 damage, but if you use Palkia EX to attack then do the 150 the next turn it'll kill everything that isn't a mega or has a belt. The mega variant is slower but can OHKO everything if you put enough energy on him.

Toad is another water type, but it doesn't really constitute a water deck because the most successful decks that use it also use another type like Toad/Tina. You could go full absolute madman and use a straight toad deck

Straight toad hammers is kinda solid. Like it's mus v most of the meta are around a 50/50 but it's around an 80-20 vs nm which is whyit's doing so well right now. As long as nm will be bdif which it will for a while toad will be solid in standard.

People will say that 10 basic water is too much, but I like it since you're pretty much guaranteed to never get energy screwed, and it makes the Max Elixirs more likely to get energy.

This is what I use.
Only two DCE because they're intended as needed for the Shaymin or the Regice.
Max Potion for Mega Gyarados, but only use it if you have something to switch in with, and only if you have the super rod in hand to get back three of the energy that get discarded.

Any reason why you're not running M Gyarados? It has the same exact energy cost as the regular, but it actually does damage.

I've spent way too much time working on this deck.
The DCE are the only cards that aren't holo or reverse holo, and the Blacksmith is even the special one from the bundle a while back.

I do play both. It should be noted that the mega only does big damage if all of the energy attached are water energy. The regular can hit for 150 with a DCE attached, and generally speaking it's a lot faster to set up the regular than it is to set up the mega. When you can get it done the mega is indeed devastating; just the other day I swept a guy running a Mega Lucario deck with megados.
I only ever tried the Golduck build as a 1-1-1 line, and shit was getting prized too often and I didn't feel it was justified to run a 2-2-2.
But all in all neither deck regular or mega is suited for a tournament in my opinion. I just fuck around on the ladder with the two decks, so even if the mega is more meta friendly it doesn't really concern my use for it.

Generations never made it to Japan because it was mostly reprints. And the things in Generations that weren't reprints (PokéKyun + Battle Strength Sets) were already over there. So since they already had the new stuff there was no reason for them to get Generations.
Likewise, if we get a M Beedrill box to go along with our Wobbuffet BREAK box in July we will then have everything new that was in CP4.
Not claiming absolute certainty here but there is a pattern.
