I'm really fond of RGBY. Dex holders interaction were great and I dare say the best of the series. Dppt come second

I always loved how Gold in the GSC arc felt like he was perpetually in over his head. He wasn't a straightforward badass in most of his encounters, mostly he just barely gets his ass out of whatever problem he's in with his trickery. That said, I didn't really like the Crystal part of that arc, as much as I adored Crystal herself.

Ruby is good when he limit breaks, but probably wouldn't in a regular trainer battle. Likewise, Black is also a top-tier trainer when Musharna is eating his dreams.
The canon best trainer among everyone is Emerald though.

Ruby was an established strong trainer from when he was younger. He's in the same boat as X but unlike Ruby, X hasn't been trained by Steven and Wallace, two Champions. I'd say Ruby and Red would be the strongest. Gold or X would be the next strongest. The other protagonists don't compare. Black, Diamond, and Lack-two just aren't as accomplished.

Gold trained with Red for a good few months on Mt. Silver and his Pokemon were considerably stronger in HGSS. Him soloing Arceus is already a clear depiction of how stronger he got.

Bianca and Cheren both received dexes in Special. Bianca gave hers to White, while Cheren had his destroyed or something.
Lack-Two and Whi-Two did receive handouts, but only being the best of the best in a class.

I think everyone around her went easy on her because she's been so shealtered her entire life. So, you can make the argument she has no skills of her own, which I agree are a problem. I think she got much more independent in the Pt arc but it was still really rushed. I'm still very dissapointed she didn't get to interact with Giratina at all, despite Dia and Pearl getting to interact with Dialga and Palkia.

That's why later games confirm that anyone can have one, because it was supposed to be obvious that any random person could get a dex. They aren't anything special at all.

1) Black was compressed into the Stone physically, so if you've ever seen the new Ant Man, all of his body was compressed into a dense clump along with the stone. Dead instantaneously.
2) Black is not dead but is instead trapped inside, unable to communicate, stuck in the eternal (or perhaps two-year, but still) darkness of limbo.

That's ignoring the fact that the protagonists only acquired dexes through special circumstances. You keep saying common knowledge as proof, but that only seems like a latter addition, whereas protagonists being personally given the dex- and no sign at all that common people had them- serves as indication that dexes weren't common, at least in the older games.
Damn shame the manga will be even be further rushed due to time constraints. I don't think ORAS should've happened yet.

Why exactly do you think that they confirmed this in the newer games? If it was really meant to be special as you say, then they would have just kept it that way. Pokemon Special is known for changing various things in the games, so this is no exception.

Yeah, that specific eevee was a special case, due to the rocket's experiments, it's DNA was very unstable and could change evolutions, but it was painful.
Red explained that it's DNA stabilize after it evolved into Espeon.
