It is a bit silly now to have those starter ratios when all you need to do is catch a few shitmon, throw them on Wonder Trade and you'll have a ditto after a few minutes, extra starters within an hour and generally have everything you'll need to breed up your perfect startermon before you're halfway through the game.

This is wrong for gen 6 though, which is why Azurill doesn't change gender anymore when evolving even if its PID is in the "male range".
