About bloody time. Eevee did take a meaningful step forward. It channeled Serena's steadfast belief in it to overcome its initial stumble. Glad the writers didn't take the easy way out by having Serena win in spite of Eevee's recovery. Having Jessie win was a nice change.

I'm happy they actually went somewhere with the scene at the end of XY91 where Meowth noted that Jessie had got progressively better results in Tripokalon (eliminated in the theme performance, fifth and third).

Suddenly Elle's words about smiling come to mind, and rightfully so. It's nice to see how Serena helped Eevee get back on its feet and continue, as opposed to what happened with her and Fokko. Eevee, for this episode, was Serena during her first Tripokalon in terms of anxiety. It just makes everything fit together quite nicely, enriching the experience.
Having this be a Serena and Eevee episode instead of solely being an Eevee episode helped things a lot in terms of coming off of this pleasantly surprised in the end. I expected this episode to be good despite the odds, and I'm glad I wasn't disappointed.

Good episode, guys. I thought this episode did a much better job with Eevee. My view of it improved immensely. Glad they found a way to give it some progression while staying true to its inexperience, plus all the while using the opportunity to show that Serena has become more hardened to adversity.
