There's no evasion clause, you can go to +6 Evasion after just 3 turns, and back it up with Barrier Option + First Aid Treatment to ensure that nothing ever actually kills you before whichever status effect you've chosen to inflict has killed your opponent.

Switch in a Touhou that's immune to the poison status effect (for an example SakuyaP) and just wait for OrangeD to run out of SP or switch out. Or use Squall (equivalent to Whirlwind from Pokemon, which is a skill card with very good availability). Or use Upbeat (equivalent to Taunt from Pokemon, except here it's a skill card that anyone capable of using skill cards can learn).
Camouflage spamming OrangeD is an annoying gimmick, but it's not a very effective gimmick.

Yep, the difficulty balance during the story is pretty wack. With the exception of Shinki and maybe the Remi / Reimu combo everything is really tame, which is hopefully something the expansion will fix.
The post-game fights are pretty much when the game finally decides to actually start throwing competent trainers at you and attacking weaknesses instead of using random skills.

Basically every good dragon is BST 600; the only BST 600 in this game is Shinki, who's only good in one of her two stances anyways.
Nether is offensively on par with Dragon pre-Gen 6 but there aren't any Nether types with a high attack stat (i.e. 120+) and high speed (i.e. 100+), and if they did the defenses would suffer as a result.
Face it, there's no way to just spam a single type like you could Dragons in Gen 5 and win everything forever

You have not yet dealt with MimaP then. Base 135 ATK, only one weakness to Dark, gets Curse Return (aka Magic Bounce) to fuck stall over even harder than it already has been, gets Curse Reversal (AKA Pain Split) to cripple high HP puppets and heal yourself...
Pair up with ShinkiS for maximum rage, since with Dark Clothing ShinkiS is immune to MimaP's one weakness. Only issue is MimaP is neutral to ShinkiS's one weakness rather than resistant, but you could always cram in ReimuD to stop Illusion moves flat. Congrats, there's a trio of things that share 0 weaknesses and cover for each other's one singular weakness, all of which are very good!

In terms of netplay it's mostly just sweepers, setup sweepers and bulky offense.
Defensive / supportive play in general isn't useless (Only full on stalling is unviable) but as of right now everything generally revolves around offense, with anything not directly killing your opponent serving only to make it easier to kill them in the next turn or two.

Hazard set up is not a good idea because Smash Spin is learnt by basically everything, but support is definitely viable (KoishiA and EirinD say hello) and defensive pivots are dominant (the #2 in the weekly usage charts is MamizouD).

Yep, definitely. Remi's fight is either an unbreakable wall or an absolute pushover depending on whether you have the right tools.

So my Blissey is staring down WakasagiS; I was dumb enough to not have run Snatch on her and leaving her out would mean WakasagiS would be free to set up on her with Brave Song, so I decided to switch out to Arceus and rip her apart with Extreme Speed.
She used Cold Rain and got the 10% Stop chance.
I try to use Extreme Speed and don't break free. She uses Brave Song.
I try to use Extreme Speed again and still don't break free. She uses Ultra-High Tone, crits and takes Arceus down, and gets a speed boost from using the move.
The rest of my team is sweeped from that point onward. Bonus points for her getting the 10% Stop chance to hit on Blissey and then using Brave Song two more times to mock me. My team of bullshit legendaries and supreme walls was torn apart by a BST 480 puppet.

Stall is dead, most things are viable in some way, but I think bulky offense is most common.

Stall and most of its tools are is shit, though you may find a use for miasma(toxic), most people either go full offensive or bulk offensive, more finding the later to be the best, some setup characters can work too. No doubles, but singles can be ither 3v3 or 6v6.
Balance is okay, there are some blatantly OP ones, and only a select few are definetly shit, moody and evasaion are unbanned, so that might make you salty.
Not many direct equivalents around, besides the mandatory Shedinja,Wobuffet and similar gimmick ones.

In addition to what the other two said, defense and supportive play in general isn't useless but everything you do revolves around either directly killing them or setting it up to make it easier to directly kill them within the next turn or two.
If you get up into the really tryhard leagues you're gonna have to use the rather small amount of objectively better puppets out there but most people go along the lines of trying to maximize their favorite 2hus instead of using what's best.

There was some info that got translated last thread about a couple of minor bonuses you get from importing your save into the expansion.
Namely if you import and then choose a new starter your old starter will be somewhere in the game exactly how you left it.
Can also choose the same starter again and it gets reverted back to level 5 but I have no idea if that comes with any added benefit to it.

No, but Assist forms don't really follow a general rule, typically go to characters who aren't canonically powerful or popular, and tend to be less direct in how they work. Assist Kogasa and Assist Chen are both very good. Defense puppets seem to be best off supporting your offense rather than trying to just stall out the foe due to the threat of Suzaku.
