Q: Have you ever thought of having a Pokemon movie featuring Team Rocket as the main characters instead of Ash and his friends?
A: Ash and Pikachu have to be the stars of the movie or else the children can't put themselves in Ash's shoes and imagine them being the hero of the day. Team Rocket is a fan favorite amongst adults, so maybe someday we will release two Pokemon movies at the same time. One featuring Ash and Pikachu and one featuring Team Rocket.
Q: Could a Pokémon movie featuring Team Rocket without Ash and Pikachu be possible someday?
A: The closest movie we've gotten with Team Rocket as the main characters is the Lugia movie. At first, they were going to be the feature stars of the movie but this has been scrapped. In later years, we have thought of doing a movie that resembles the main plot of Lupin III but we got to the point where it resembled the movie with Latias and Latios too much. But I know for a fact that Megumi Hayashibara (Jessie's voice acress) wanted to write one with me if she has the oppertunity.
