Normally I'm not bad with timed stages (scored within top 200 in NA for M-Steelix), and I have 60 Pokemon at max level. The best run I've had was beating it with 8 seconds left, which wasn't enough to catch it. There's something about the disruption that fucks me up.

And Phione is (BP60): 120 + 50
The difference is merely 20 points
Even on low bp CC is one of the best abilites (even more if you play on 3ds). But pls keep in mind that we have some other really great water pokemon. So you dont use phione as often.
Also its great for Meowth farming (got mine to max this way. kek)

Not exactly the same. Ampharos' bolts are random while Manectrics are a set pattern but in a random two columns. Manectric's bolts will never overlap but you could potentially get only 6 tiles cleared on Ampharos if you're really unlucky. Same thing with Latias vs Latios.

You have to make exactly 5 matches in the very first 5 turns so the disruptions disappear. If you get a combo and/or cant get 5 matches, the board resets itself. You can try and bring Firefox with you and hope a rock in the top gets removed.

Mega gengar shits over almost everything on stages with only 3 support pokemon. Even if it is weak to the pokemon, its mega ability clears the board of all gengars and they stop spawning for a while, so its just raining combos.

Being a giant newfag, I can't beat M Glalie, so two questions. Is Exp a static number awarded to all Pokémon that fight, or is it awarded based on damage dealt? Second, as I can't get to Amp to grind Exp, what is a good level to grind on before stage 120?

static number awarded to all pokemons, crowned pokemon are given double exp. Exp is the number of moves a stage has at the beginning, number of moves left doesn't matter, if you don't kill you get a percentage of exp based on how much damage you did, Buneary is the best stage to grind on, but coins are honestly more important than exp so long as your mons are at least level 5, anyway. Just grind meowth and buy DD and M+5 for Mega Glalie.

you get exp based on the turns the stage has (with a few exceptions). if you cant defeat the stage you get exp according to how much damage you did (ampharos 50 exp. only deal 50% damage this means you get 25 exp). Also no crown this way (which doubles the exp)
use haspiror for grinding (imo 30 exp, not sure)
And cash up for M Glalie (or use M-Luke if you have it)

I was sittin' on 70K coins so I just grabbed everything but C-1. Team was M-Blastoise, Palkia, Shaymin and Kyogre, all lv. MAX. Finished with exactly 30 seconds remaining (I suck at timed stages and constantly drop my combo). Caught Lando with the first great ball at 78% I think.
These ground events have got me wondering when we'll get a base 70 mega with a decent ability in ice water or grass. Candidates are Swampert and Sceptile, with potentials in Gyarados if it's water and Abomasnow regardless of type. What mega abilities would you give these 4 to make them good (without going broken like Gengar's ability)?
What do you think we'll get next week? Should be a competition rerun, right?

Blastoise may be a shitmon on its own but M-Blastoise is definitely not.
Gyarados will definitely be water because Magikarp is water.
Abomasnow will be a shitmon.
M-Swampert will probably have the same ability as Medicham. Not terrible but Blastoise would still be better.
Not sure what they would give Sceptile, maybe a grass version of Blaziken.
Do you think they will give M-Gengar's ability to any other Pokemon? If they did it would almost certainly have a higher charge time.

Blaziken, Garchomp, Sharpedo, Charizard-Y, Absol, Gardevoir, and Steelix haven't been repeated yet. Having said that, it's basically confirmed we're getting a Garchompite rerun next week unless they specifically update the game to cancel it.
Possibly worth mentioning: it's been even longer since Blastoise and Lucario were last rerun than it has been since the first Blaziken run.
