I think it'd be nice if they emphasize the theme of light vs dark. Charizard Y literally brings the light of the sun when it appears.
I imagined it flying up high as if flying towards the sun. Then with its back towards the sun, it charges up a beam. From the perspective of the enemy, Charizard Y looks blinding because they're facing the sun (both literally and figuratively) and when the beam fires, it'll look as if the sun itself decided to nuke them. Obviously, it's just Charizard firing the beam but it's all about what it looks like from the perspective of the enemy. Judgement from on high.

You're right but a person can dream. They're already playing up the light/dark theme anyway. Reaching out to each other through the mirror with one side dark and the other light, the lights around Alan going dark when he went full EDGE and the contrast between Alan being alone while Ash is with his friends. XY being a 4 year generation like AG and DP is already pretty obvious. What I wonder if it'll be even longer, since the next gen of games likely won't come out till the NX and GameFreak is bad with 3D development.
A lot of people forget DP was supposed to come out in 2005 but was delayed to 2006 because GameFreak had trouble finishing the games. I honestly wonder what it would have been like if that happened.

Its kind of funny that Misty is in the most episodes of the anime, Iris is in the least (because BW was only 3 years), and May and Dawn are in the middle.
Serena's will probably be similar to May/Dawn's, unless the anime ends completely, XY goes on another year, or the unthinkable happens and Serena becomes a permanent mainstray on the cast. If anything I'm hoping XY wraps Ash up since I don't see the latter happening.
