Aerial is really, REALLY fun, and allows you to do really dumb stuff. The only thing I don't like about it is that the distance on the evade roll is screwing up all of my usual tactics for quickly killing small monsters, since I can't just evade roll towards them to get the finishing blow after I knock them back.

I'm not even sure what it even does. Doesn't it just reward you with a powerful follow-up attack if you dodge PERFECTLY? That seemed really situational to me. Am I missing something?
I tried it with a few weapons and as far as I could tell, it did stuff like reassigned your powerful combos to only be usable following a perfect dodge, which made it garbage against all but large monsters, and only in very specific circumstances. I'm obviously not great with it, but I just didn't see how it would be preferable to any other style, since it seems to punish you for not utilizing it to its fullest.

I've only hit 5 star village, and still don't really have a god damned clue on what to build.
Elemental LBG's are fucking SHIT and don't kill anythingbut Rathalos, SURPRISINGLY, since the low rank one is still low HP high damage like he should be.
Can't really deal with Mizu's movements. Claw breaks ain't possible. Might just finish singleplayer with the intent to never do it anymore. Compared to 4U, gearing up is some suffering. I can win, but I can't farm. Winning in 50 minutes is good enough.

I've used status SnS on and off since 3U and never once have I felt useless while using them. I assure you it's a more than viable method of play. Keeping a monster poisoned constantly, sleep bombing it 2+ times per hunt, paralyzing it 2+ times per hunt, etc. all make a huge difference when in a group.

No idea what Dragon phial does for damage, but I figured out through extensive testing in MHX awhile back that status phials (para and poison) gives a different amount of status per each individual weapon with it. Why they wouldn't come up with a way to tell you exactly how much each weapon gives you I don't know, but some of them (forgot which ones) inflict status really well surprisingly and a lot of these get decent axe mode raw.
