Nibelsnarf's duals are great against Kut-Ku and Malfestio. Ludroth's are probably about equal. The Gypceros duals aren't terrible. Snow Slicers would actually be good if you had anything to use them on. Twin Daggers are good enough, so are Petrified Daggers if you keep upgrading them.
Nothing in Low Rank really demands too much concern for blade choice, though. I'm just annoyed that Kut-Ku's duals are terrible the entire time. I might as well just upgrade them into the Garuga duals

His hide is also pretty tough, you'll want a decently sharp weapon which you just don't really get in LR.

Don't go for his shell. Nothing this early is going to get through and even with a hammer it will take ages to break.
He moves like a crab so just sit to one side of his claws and smash them. Use traps to get free hits on his face. He stands still a lot so smash his claws in when you get the chance.
