Earlier editions of Beastmen were troubled but they were interesting enough - perhaps not the most competitive.

Then 6th edition ripped out most of their flavour, even removing marks completely and they just got left in the dust when 7th came round.
Glotkin resolved some major issues but to little and much to late.

It's a shame, they were my first army... the terribly painted fuckers.

Since the Empire in the GC is too small to fully do it justice, why not build a full campaign designed entirely around the Beastmen's Guerrilla war with the Empire?

Just dumping them in the GC wouldn't have done them justice, dedicating a portion of the game to a dedicated beastmen campaign set in the Drakwald does.

Beastmen is more scripted kinda like Last Roman.
Plus its 52 settlements on an enlarged map of the Empires forests. Each region looks large with fair distance between most places.

Solid size.

For those that don't buy the DLC they get essentially 3 free contents that day with the Empire hero, the lore of amber and the AI Beastmen to the campaign map. Not bad at all.

It's insane that making the Jabberslythe alone would have took the entire budget of the Age of Charlemagne DLC for Attila.

Beastmen are playable in Grand Campaign,MP and Custom aswell as their own story campaign in a self contained enlarged campaign map of the Drakwald Forest and surrounding lands.

They aren't. What you see there are the colours for the two Middenland factions, Hochland, Marienburg, and the Greenskins.

Exactly what I'm doing considering now that Beastmen are being added an AI limited roster race anyway(just like CW if you don't own them)

Its just 10% discount for buying now its worth the extra small amount of cash if it means a great story focused mini campaign and fun playable faction. Gonna have to wait for reviews and playthroughs. Joey is playing the grand campaign next week including Eye for an Eye story campaign.

It's a first for CA not to have other playable factions in a mini campaign. Sounds like its heavily scripted and removes replay value.

Ostland apparently meaning you'll be facing Beastmen and Chaos to the north and northwest aswell as Vampires to the east. Beastmen will also have sub factions based around the old world like the Badlands. Plus they move in ambush stance permanently, can pass forests with their "Beast Paths"(Underway clone) mechanic and when encamped are invisible.

Lets not forget Beastmen have the Waaaagh mechanic.

Oh boy and so far these factions are only a small part of Warhammers main factions.
By the end of the trilogy this game is going to be one serious clusterfuck.

The complete game is probably set to be >$360 over the course of 3 years, pretty fucking affordable. It's a large and lofty undertaking. From a pure business perspective this shit is plenty justifiable.

Dwarfs need a flat increase to armor for all their base troops, and Orcs need better AP units. Honestly Orc Boys with 2handers and Big'Uns with 2handers would solve one of the Orcs biggest issues.

If tabletop beastmen players cared about their power level they'd have played a different army.
