Fun fact: the KR server (what's left of it) is so infested with arty they actually had to remove Prok and Prok on Fire from the map rotation. It's sad that even at that level they won't just admit it needs to be removed entirely.
Can't wait for the SB 'improvements' where it still kills half your crew and modules, and leaves you stunned for 40 seconds. My IS-4 reload was up to 40 seconds; so I just hid behind a rock and quit out of the match. Certainly made that match more dynamic.

By horrible I mean it was absolute shit in CoH 1. It had no accuracy or suppression, it just made a lot of noise and shot up the ground. It needed double offensive vet (PE could choose the type of bonuses any unit got when they vetted up) before it actually started to kill things, and even then airborne blobs could easily just zerg it to remove it once it became a threat.
The Quad in CoH2 is what it should have been.

Up until it was an absolute nightmare as the stock suspension wouldn't allow you to mount anything, the suspensions costed a lot of xp, it had no improvement suspension equipment, and the top gun only did 138 pen. I got it in early 8.something, so after credit gold rounds. To be honest, it might just be skewed memory, since I was a terrible player then, but the JPIV was the first tank I got consistent damage and kills in, thing helped teach me how to play better. Also, I never include stock grinds when discussing how good a tank is, that's fucking dumb. Only bring up shitty stock grinds when somebody is actively grinding the tank, and only to warn them a bit and tell them which module to get first.

It has more DPM and the same handling with worse accuracy. Since the French 105 still has that bonus p2w damage they never removed when they made it buyable with silver, the DPM almost reaches Tiger I levels and the mediocre pen problem is solved.

If it is I'll be happy, but last I saw it had SIGNIFICANTLY worse terrain resistance AND power/weight ratio, with only 5kph higher top speed.
Also it has less gun depression, worse aimtime, less armor, less module health, etc.
Literally the only thing the 25t AP has above the lorraine is DPM (because faster reload).
If they made the 25t AP fast, I'd love it, but as of yet it seems to be slower, which is bullshit.

With only a few exceptions, weakspots on a heavy are (in order of usefulness):
1. Lower frontal plate (LFP)
2. Commander's cupola
3. Inside frontal drive wheel (when they angle)
4. Driver's hatch or MG port (some tanks don't have these weakspots though, for "balance")
Many tanks also have weakspots only they have, and those ones you'll have to just learn with time.
It's also useful to memorize tanks' capabilities in general, beyond their armor. Like, how fast/maneuverable a tank is, its reload time, its penetration, its damage, what sort of gun (single-shot or autoloader), its gun handling.
Basically, if you want to git gud, start going down almost every line in the game at the same time. By the time you're at tier 8, you should have multiple tier 5/6/7 tanks, and generally know the pros and cons of all the tanks under 8. Then just keep working upwards like that.
People who rush to 10 on one line without learning all the other tanks are a blight on tier 10 games.

To add to this, here's some simple tank-specific weakspots that are good to know at mid-low tier:
-Tiger P: Hull cheeks, the angled bit at the side of the UFP.
-Super Pershing: side is super weak, left cupola (your left when facing it) is weakspot, right cupola magically doesn't exist. MG port also weakspot.
-Churchill I: Shoot the turret front.
-Later churchills: Inside drivewheel or UFP, do not shoot the turret.
-KV-220: Just shoot the turret on a flat-looking spot and hope for the best.
-O-I: side of tank is super weak, and just above the inside drive wheel from the front if he angles.
-T14: Upper hull, the LFP is the strong point for some reason.

The tier 5 one? Shoot the turret or the flat part of the upper hull. Don't shoot the lower plate. The tier 6 one? Have to shoot the sides unless you have 150+ pen.

Depends, if you shoot towards the left it'll go in and maybe track him; if you shoot too far right it'll be absorbed, so it's fiddly.
If it's absorbed, though, that's more track damage. Shoot it 2 (maybe 3) times and he'll be tracked, then you can just drive up beside and bully him while he can't depress his gun enough to shoot you.
It's the only real option to shoot for a T5/6/7 heavy from the front, anyway, without spamming gold.

The O-I exp is (or was) pretty fun, but just because it was OP as fuck. Best gun at the tier by far, plus it was fast as fuck, heavy so it could ram, and had passable armor.
The full O-I, though, is both hell to play against and hell to play. It has speed only a T95 would be jealous of, super long reload, and super flat armor that everyone spams gold or HE at, plus you get fucked by arty. It's just a dumb meme line as a whole.

Also,if you really want to get good at knowing weakspots, play blitz for a little bit. Blitz tanks have the same armor layout, but tanks have a dynamic htiskin which shows which parts you can penetrate and which ones you cant. After some games you'll have them memorized juum
