Most basic thing is Assassin's Lyncean Sight for close up, Ranger's Comet Shot for EXTREME closeup.
Other moves can be used to cancel these moves saturate the screen with color or to bring pawns back into focus.
You have to fight with the game itself and have good timing to get a good shot, it's pretty addictive.

I'm not sure what I messed up trying to change leapworm models into something more innocuous, but whatever it was has caused them to just stay buried in the ground forever.

You can also lower affinity in other ways, though effluvium is the safest way to do it without going too far and making them flee. Physical damage is the big one, but supposedly unsheathing your weapon repeatedly next to an NPC will lower their affections, as will picking them up, throwing them, and bumping into them while sprinting.

Even though the game is on PC, it disappointingly has not that much modding capability due to the way how Capcom packs the game up. So yeah, no beautiful Skyrim bodies sadly. There's a nude mod though which is just a texture replacement.

Strength based magic archer is pretty insane, and usually gear and augments are the main damage dealer. I would just avoid the condemned goreclopes until you get geared. I feel like they were meant to be a retard magnet anyway, especially on hard.

I've been dicking around with my full sorcerer /w caged fury and damn does that staff become bad in post game.
In Everfall and bbi there isn't enough room to dodge attacks and every gust of wind, and a single hit means you deal next to no damage until you regain the charges.
Even worse when you have full charges and get hit by a attack, losing all stamina and left vulnerable for attack. That usually means 1hit since full sorc.
I'm probably gonna swap to a regular staff.

Stability should protect you from wind, grit makes the exhausted animation far shorter, and a single cast of miasama should get you back up to full charge. Also snagging the two physical defense augments from rank 1 warrior / mystic knight helps a lot for survivability. You could also try slapping a bunch of group stamina items on your pawn and giving it the medicant inclination.
I used that staff a lot in one play through, too. It's pretty fun and I enjoyed the challenge.

Getting perks from different classes is a pain though since only sorcerer levels allowed.
Also I'm playing in hard mode so getting hit means death with my no armor and hp.

You're in post game now right? Just climb up on the wall outside the church and farm guards. Stack discipline boosts and you max out vocations very quickly and you can just ferrystone to gran soren before you gain a level easily because the guards are worth so little.
The defensive augments get boosted in hard mode, they actually help out a shitload and become even more useful there. Heck I'm surprised you went as far as you did without them - they are both rank 1 augments so you can grab them at any time without putting squat into warrior or MK.
As for if wind will still count as a hit or not, I'm actually not sure. I didn't bother even trying it until way later, but it has been super useful on my current run. You don't react to wind at all so at the very least you are free to set up your counter right away and you aren't stun locked. Most wind attacks have huge animations that leave the enemy wide open if you can ignore them for the duration.

Ranger gets pretty much just plain better stat growths than Strider (which already gets some of the more solid gains in the game if you aren't going for a min/max build of either magic or strength), and every class is viable to actually play as, even warrior in BBI if you hate yourself. So basically the answer is yes, very.
Strider gets basically the strongest dagger skill (brainsplitter) and does like 2/3 more damage with climbing attacks than every other class as well as getting a few other neat tricks (including one bow skill that is on-par with some of Ranger's bow skills), but Ranger gets a lot of really cool and satisfying bow skills, it's my second favourite class easily. Be careful with stamina management though, especially early on. Using the longbow eats stamina absurdly fast.

Didn't notice this post before I posted >>148330687 but on the topic of minmaxing, I recommend against it for the reason you stated and also because you'll probably want to try out several different classes at some point, and minmaxing generally means dropping one of your attack stats in favour of the other, which can make this a pain. Ranger, however, gets solid magic growth and slightly better attack growth, so you should be equipped just fine to switch to whatever later. It also gets the highest stamina growth, and stamina is, in my opinion, the most important stat besides the primary attack stat of any given vocation.

Magick Archer. It's just the most fun, flexible and versatile, and it often has the same sense sorcerer has of "holy shit that was cool," albeit a little less dramatic and satisfying than getting off a maelstrom and seeing your hair and clothes flap in the gale while your enemies are drawn into it from all around you. I'd like it even more if it had some skills that didn't home or some sort of gimmick that could make it more like a bow. Sometimes I feel a little bad since I'm pretty sure from my experience with each vocation that it's also the strongest in general and only really matched by Strider sometimes, but it can still be challenging if you gear down so whatever.

Personally I never keep back ups for enchanted weapons. You could just keep a pawn handy for fire and holy buffs. Keeping multiple weapons isn't viable given the retarded low weight limits in this game.

Some good tips to get your pawn hired is to keep in mind the fashion aspect as in dont wear that DLC-crap, funny hat or skimpy bikini-shit(showing skin is okay if you do it in moderation) and obviously having a name that can imply the person searching for pawns that tis one aught be worth the summon.

Since I trained my pawn to have Pioneer as main inclination she's started going out of her way to open chests that sometimes didn't even knew there where there.
That' why hearing her go "What's this ?" or "Let's look at what's inside" makes me proud of my pawn-parenting.

About them moving into close range, I haven't noticed my pawn doing that during battle, she's a Sorcerer and attacks from distance, but Scathers and Pioneers scout ahead of you, so they'll usually engage enemies before you unless you're sprinting.

Hilde's got a smaller nose/mouth. While she does have that mole, the moles in this game don't really look good, so I wouldn't really bother. The face shape should be a little smaller with a less prominent jaw, and I agree, look for a different hairstyle. Even Mercedes's would be better, though that's still off because of the bangs.
And I know she's from Soul Calibur, but tone down the boobs a bit. Hilde's SUPPOSED to be one of the less ridiculous characters in the tits department, though that really isn't saying much for SC.

So I started the game as fighter till 12th level and got the warrior vocation until level 32. hard mode.
Its really has everybody says Warrior is a wasted class, could be so cool roleplaying a paladin with a two hander but the move sets are atrocious. The max augments are pretty sweet however.

What is so bad about warrior anyway? There isn't a single thing that gave me a hard time on my warrior play through. Is it because you can't roll or block? You can eat up hits without a care in the world anyway so long as you slap on some augments. Lash and arc bring pretty much anything to its knees and can be used at any god damn time because shit can barely break you out of it. I-frames out the ass. You have an easier time with flying enemies than fighters or MKs do.

What class are you playing? I'd say some of the more important ones are going to be Grapnel, Miasma, Fulmination, Ingle, and any of the world enders that you happen to like. A lot of things in BBI are vulnerable to holy, so Seism may be the best option in terms of element, but use whatever works best for you is my recommendation. Voidspell or Halidom aren't the worst ideas, either, especially if it's for a pawn.

Its not bad for big, slow, dumb enemies. Its an alternative to maelstrom that doesn't take all day to cast, kind of like the ingle/comestion/bolide argument. Its finding the balance of cast speed vs. power that you like.
Also you can actually see shit after you cast miasma as opposed to maelstrom, which fucks over melee arisen. But that only matters on pawns, so w/e.
Seriously, what is up with Bitterblack Isle? The game went from comfy open world areas into depressing tightly confined corridors and sometimes the occasional big spaces. Inclinations can affect that kind of thing, the ideal combination for Sorc is scather primary, utilitarian secondary and challenger tertiary, I believe. Note that you should NOT teach pawns magick agent if you haven't yet. It's not the end of the world but it's not a very effective skill in general, pawns don't use it effectively whatsoever and if they have it they will frequently cancel spells to cast it. Better for them just to not have it.

Out on my adventure to dragonforge my everything while mentoring little Crevi here, I hired Mylo again because his owner is secretly the biggest bro on /ddg/. I handed Crevi a Talarian White that I picked up, since for some reason she's addicted to lightning attacks.
Probably stems from her goblin heritage.
If I had one thing to say about this particular pawn, it'd be that she should probably drop Lightning Affinity and High Necromancy. Lightning Affinity is kinda neat for the main game I suppose, but High Necromancy, I find, not all that helpful.

The toughest shit in BBI (garms and elder ogres) is weak to lightning, and while it probably suffers similar to warrior in BBI high necromancy is insane in terms of both damage and knockdown. Necromancy is one of those skills that gets severely underrated for some reason.

Some characters have good characterization, and the game feels like typical Forgotten Realms high fantasy, however it also has elements of Sword and Sorcery, like only humans. Its a weird mix.

It's less that he's looking for that ONE human, and more for just the FIRST human. Ultimately anyone with sufficient will can be Arisen--that's why there are so many dragonkin and dead Arisens in BBI--there's no real requirement for strength.
Which actually makes it even more inefficient, since if you just pick the first chucklefuck willing to take up arms and chase a fucking dragon, you're probably going to have to wait quite a few generations before you hit one who actually manages to make it through.

BBI maybe if you haven't done it yet, but it'll wipe in ng+ so you might as well start it then. Getting any fashion's dogma gear you want from the everfall, it has a good bit of nice looking pieces. The only thing worth going to the Everfall for long-term has a portal going straight to it from Cassardis in ng+, so there isn't much point in hanging around in postgame unless you just like wandering the less pussified world.

How is MK properly enjoyed? It seems like the only moderately useful shit I have is abyssal anguish against things that are weak to dark, and the trance+sigil+cannon combo, which is tedious, repetitive and boring to set up but the only way I can consistently do any damage with a goldforged virge of madness to most of BBI. The elemental counters and buffs are a big deal. Using the right element against your target boosts your damage by a good deal, and perfect blocks leave you pretty much invincible if you are good enough at it.
But yeah, I don't like the class too much either. Pretty much half of your skill pool is dedicated to buffs and sigils. Your direct damage skills are either huge nukes or the jumping version of blink strike. The sanctuary augment makes you pretty munch invincible though, so that's cool I guess.
But in my opinion, MK and Ranger are the two most poorly made classes. MK because I feel like you spend more time charging spells than a straight mage does for the least satisfying payoff of any of the casting classes. Ranger because they don't get a single unique knife skill - not even something like an evasive version of sprint / leaping stone or a trap or something, anything that would help put distance between you and an enemy. Shit I would even take some kind of buff move, anything that would give me a reason to use my knives. Warrior gets kind of shafted with only 3 skills but at least they don't have some second weapon that they wouldn't even want to use.

Why does strider get TWO knife skills that can be used specifically for mobility if their ranged game isn't that good? Assassin gets Gale Harness, another skill to improve mobility despite them having even shittier ranged skills - they even get traps, but not with knives. Both assassin AND fighter get dodge attacks. Ranger? Jack diddly shit.
Fuck even at close range you are better off shotgunning arrows in a wedge than you are "falling back" on your knives. The most you can get out of your knives is the dodge roll core ability and status ailments. They really could have found SOMETHING to throw rangers way, even if it was just an improved version of dazzle blast where they lept backwards while throwing out flash bombs and didn't have to fucking Reset out of their own stun animation afterwards.

Do you live in bizarro world or something? Increased mobility is more important for a melee class, especially a short-reach melee class, so they can close damage and actually hit anything. Ranger can shoot from anywhere, and can wear decent armour and does absolutely bullshit damage with endecad at close range, so putting distance between you and the enemy isn't really important either (on the rare occasion an enemy can even get close to you in the first place). Even then they still get cutting wind and the iframe dodge roll, the most important dagger skills for both closing distance and getting out of danger. And Strider is amazing at range, it's just even better in melee, the same way that thousand kisses and shearing wind make ranger amazing in melee while it's still far better with ranged.

That isn't always true since you can't freely dodge out of endecad or use it while climbing, but even if it was, no shit, it's the archer class. This is pretty completely false. All four yellow vocations are excellent, Strider being the best with daggers and getting a substantial climbing damage bonus that makes it competitive with assassin and MA despite lacking immolation and invisibility/gale harness. Strider also has two bow skills, fracture dart and hailstorm volley, that are on-par with ranger's bow skills.
In fact the only "advanced" vocation that is actually clearly better than the equivalent "basic" vocation is Sorcerer. Mage gets some healing spells that are irrelevant as soon as you can afford to keep stocked up on curatives (ie around the time you hit Gran Soren) and grapnel, which is useful but better in a support role which is better played by a pawn, but loses the nukes, miasma and like 1/2 to 2/3 of their weapon power.
Meanwhile while strider and ranger are each better in different situations fighter is generally much stronger than warrior, so the relationship between "basic" and "advanced" vocations really runs the gamut. Essentially what I'm getting at is that "basic" and "advanced" are meaningless terms here, it's really "starting classes" and "specialised classes." It's a common mistake to think otherwise because of the misleading terminology though.

Sorcerers are somehow pretty shit. The damage is high if you get to use the good shit but lord knows that won't happen 50% of the time at least. Bow users can deal x3 the damage in 1/100 of the time

The only good thing for Daimon. In general with enemies that don't punish you hard for standing still anywhere for a few seconds, sorcerer has like exclusively strong shit.

That's the blast arrow equivalent. Daimon is a shit boss, you can beat him without cheesing, but it's not really worth the trouble.
Playing Sorcerer is more fun than it seems, but you need to realize spamming nukes is not the only thing they can do. This is coming from someone who spent 80% of his gameplay as yellow.

That's not true, he's just shitty as non-yellow classes since pure blues and MK get locked in place to use their skills and pure reds struggle to hit him and deal with the vortex. If he weren't the final boss that would be fine, but the fact that he's just not a fun experience as over half the classes is pretty lame.
