There's no reason to not bring a shield for the weapon buffs, at least. I mean, most of the shield skills are buffs so if you REALLY wanted to go without, you could. How would being ranged at a times affect your pawn if it's constantly either fighter or warrior?
Also is the thing as to what your pawn can learn from you even more sophisticated than the inclinations and how many stars the enemy type has? Like will it actually copy what you do like say you jump everywhere like crazy nonstop will it copy that?

It's not often you are at maximum range from anything so it's not much of a problem. You could try to give your pawn Pioneer or Scather if it keeps running back to you, I guess?
Your pawns apparently don't actually learn much from you, but at the same time my warrior pawn started jumping around a lot for seemingly no reason at all when I was playing a sorcerer and would jump all the time to get the Eminance augment to apply to my focus bolts / to cancel some animations. I guess that doing certain actions yourself may up the chances that your pawn may catch onto them, but they learn those same actions on their own either way.

Please help me decide something since I'm literally a mindless pawn with no free will or thought of my own, sorcerer or magick archer?
I'm level 40, I fucked around as a sorc until level 30 and then switched to MA out of boredom, had a lot more fun as MA until I went to fuck that metal golem in witchwood and couldn't for the life of me break that hanging medallion. So I switched back to sorcerer, got a decent staff, and then did the synchronized bolide dance with two of my pawns, utterly demolished the metal golem and regular golem with ease.
Now I'm wondering if I should stick with being a sorc, just getting a full sorc party and forming a medieval idol dance troupe of ass ravaging(bonus points for being a wizard because I fucking love wizards) or enjoy the adventure that comes with being an active part of battle as a flashy rogue/touhou boss. I've already got the sorc at full discipline, so I'm worried that it will just be this for the rest of the game if I stick to it.

Do what you feel like doing. The game really doesn't punish you at all for switching vocations every five minutes if that's what makes you happy. Just keep a portcrystal on hand, stick it down whenever you feel like changing vocations, and ferrystone to the inn and back.

Ranger with Blast Arrows is best Daimon/Death killer. But Strider is also very good at killing bosses and is much better at fighting trash mobs than Ranger imo. Also online Ur doesn't give a shit about blast arrows, but Strider with it's whopping 2.5x damage climbing modifier to Kisses can put out ridiculous DPS.
So what do gud warriors do at max vocation?
I'm only at lvl 5 and so far it seems quite underwhelming compared to other vocs i've leveled.
Like im better off just doing light or jump attacks with even Indomitable Lash at full charge worth shit even if i manage to actually land it.

Lash does better damage if you release it right as you hit max charge, so that may help you out. Otherwise Warrior does rely on its core skills more than most vocations - that's why they get an augment for them.
Arc of Deliverence is pretty much a much stronger lash, that takes longer to charge. You can slowly move around while charging though so it's a lot easier to position / time it. Slap on the augment to take half damage while charging and you can pretty much bust that shit out whenever you want. Works wonders for blowing straight through an enemies defense threshhold and will even knock a condemned gore cyclops to its knees so you are free to bash its eyeball in. The only problem I have with it is that it's actually a two hit move (the weapon making contact with the enemy, and the weapon making contact with the ground) so I've had elder ogres instant-reset into blocking stance after eating the hammer head to the face, cutting my damage pretty drastically. You can also end up knocking shit away with the first hit, making the second part of the attack miss. Overall it's still amazing, though.

I never really used it myself, but it can be handy. You can end it with the hilt uppercut early with one button, it's maybe jump or light/heavy attack, I don't recall. But it's pretty good at staggering things.

I've never actually used special arrows, how do they work with skills like x-fold? Is it a single arrow used per fire, or do they use however many arrows you're actually firing?

They use however many arrows. The only exception is the ranger skill whirling arrow, though it apparently doesn't work with blast arrows.
I never really use special arrows because you have to pop open the menu, equip them, go back to the game and shoot off however many arrows, then pop open the menu again and remove the arrows unless you want to waste the rest of them. For some reason they don't work with the item shortcuts - such a wasted opportunity.

status arrows are just too fucking strong to not use, IMO. Sleeper arrows are crazy good vs. enemies that are vulnerable to them, and petrifying arrows are the best way to kill vomit zombies. Silencer arrows also are nice for their ability to disable Wyrms.

The last person with max afinity you talked to is kidnapped the second you enter the greatwall during "Deny Salvation". Past that point it's irreversible.
So to answer your question, Arisen's Bond doesn't do shit if you aren't super careful with who you talk to at that point in the game.
At least, that's what the wiki says, and i've always followed it just to be safe :^)

Well, I'm at lvl 60 with my full sorc /w Caged Fury and everything dies easily, even bosses. I still get 1-3 shotted, but that's no brainer since I got no hp or armor.
My my lvl 55 fighter kills everything quite fast too and can take hits even from bosses. Angered trolls/unieyes still can 2 shot me.
Remember that you gain more exp and money in Hard Mode so you level fast and can afford good stuff.

Pawns don't get uploaded to the game server until you rest at least once. They also don't update (level gains, new gear, knowledge, etc) until you rest again.
So yeah, that's probably the problem. Doesn't have to be the Gran Soren inn though, any inn will work.

Anywhere from roughly 70 to 90% of your damage will come from your weapons in the end. Doing a "quality" build here is very easy as well, you get a decent one just by going as strider up to level 100 (they get 3 in both attacks each level).
As for BBI... You can succeed there if you go as soon as you are able, which is after chopping off the hydra's head in the first part of the game. You have to use throwblasts for the first and probably second boss and might have to grind a little for some bbi gear before the final boss, but it's definitely very manageable and very fun and sorcerer is one of the classes that handles it better than others. What's more, if you find a good archistaff you'll be able to use it immediately because you won't be affected by level restrictions like that low-level character would be. And on top of that you have a bunch of health, stamina and defences. You'll be just fine.

Also your base magic has to be at least 250 by 100 regardless of how you level up iirc. Like the class that gets the lowest magic to start with is fighter and the lowest on levelup is a tie between fighter, assassin and warrior and going as fighter to begin with and then any of those you end up with 258 magic at 100. Going fighter then all ranger would net you 348. For comparison, the best archistaff in the game once fully upgraded has 1730 magic and a sorcerer who started as mage at 100 has 566 magic. The difference between the least possible and most possible magic at 100 would be only 13%. Assuming you continued leveling as sorcerer after 100 regardless that would be even less of a difference since sorcerer still gets solid magic gain post-100 and other classes don't.
Also ranger and assassin both get better overall attack growth than strider but both get more physical (ranger gets 4/3 (same magic growth, better strength) and assassin gets 6/2 and has the best overall attack growth of any class pre-100).

Just beat the devilfire drake at level 24 without a single throwblast. Actually I barely used items at all. Hadn't really been planning on fighting it when I first started out to take Berne to the Shadow Fort, and I'd even sent away most of the curatives I'd picked up on the way at the lake camp. Thank god for Gicel. Spammed that and ran like hell for pretty much the whole fight. Actually had to go twice. First time he one-shotted my mage-sorcerer 0-fucking-defense ass, the second he fucked off before the fight even started and I couldn't find him again till half the day had gone by.
Considering it was my main pawn's first time with a drake, I was surprised how well she acquitted herself. She's a ranger right now and while she wasn't doing much damage, she was consistently aiming deathly arrow at the heart. I'll need to teach her to use tenfold more, but she managed to knock him down a couple times, which gave me some breathing room.
All that accomplished, did I get a single item dragonforged for my troubles? Nnnnnnope.

Cursed shit is better, but the cross cinquedea should be enough I think provided it's upgraded. I thought it was anyway, I don't use sword classes usually but it's only a couple of places behind the Dragon's Dogma and most weapons that are a couple of places behind the Dragon weapon are pretty okay for BBI shit.
If you've got throwblasts (you can purchase them in infinite quantities from one of the shops in Cassardis) they should take care of shit you can't even seem to damage most of the time, not phantoms and living armours though I don't think. If you have Tagilus's Miracles or Conqueror's Periapts those will boost your physical damage, using four of either at once will slightly more than double your physical attack (which because of how defence works in this game will usually much more than double your damage output). They only stack up to four times though.
With cursed weapons level 2 you should have a fair chance, provided both you and your main pawn are red vocations at the time of purification, of getting a cursed light or cursed bite, either of which would be a big upgrade to the cross cinquedea.
Because the higher-level weapons are so powerful and you're unlikely to get an optimised build playing normally, level is really only super important up to level 51, where you are able to use any weapon in the game without a stamina penalty. Beyond that it's just a little bit of bonus stats.

Spamming periapts or similar items (MA's magick rebalancer works great too) is the way to go for Matt. If you aren't going to use them on Grigori House, Matt Daimon or the Ur-Dragon when are you ever going to use them, after all? Getting clout/acuity is advisable anyway though. All that shit stacks multiplicatively, meaning the more you have active, the more each one is worth.

Bought this game at the summer sale, and I'm currently at the Gran Soren castle after a lot of exploring and questing. Its skills are so powerful that minmaxing is even more overkill than with most vocations. Even then, since it benefits heavily from both kinds of attack, assassin would probably have priority over sorcerer for levels. I mean, you might want to rank grind warrior and sorc at some point for the augments, but apart from that it's pretty unnecessary.

If you're online, then no, you should not be doing a visible amount of damage. It has like 20 billion health iirc. Everyone that fights it contributes, it usually dies about once a day or two.
If you're stabbing a part that is bone with no flesh and no glowing heart then you actually aren't doing damage though.

It uses both. Flameshroud does immense damage per second and you can still use other skills (like thousand kisses) while it's active. Pure physical/daggers only MA is $100% viable, it's just that the bow is very powerful too so you should use both. That physical power is one of the things that set it apart from sorcerer, which has to rely on its clunky, weak heavy core skill attack to deal damage to magic-immune targets.

As mentioned before, throw blasts and dragons spit are amazing. Can one shot a lot of enemies, from those pesky fighter bandits to gargoyles - 5 of them can kill a maneater. Skulls are great too for cursing shit. Huck a few at an ogre / elder ogre once it enrages to pretty much cancel out it's attack bonus and to help you finish it off faster.

If you look on the wiki there is actually a huge list, and a lot of surprisingly helpful combines. Combine shackles with hunks of ore to make skeleton keys. Giant fishes can be used with something else to make your own liquid vim. You can even combine rotting food with spring water to make it fresh again - I think you just have to put the food into an airtight flask first.

I'm pretty sure the augment that halves damage received while charging works before your defense is taken into account - I was able to keep charging arcs through elder ogre drop kicks with that shit active. Between that, the two other physical defense augments and armor regenerating my health I didn't really need to dodge anything. Those augments get a boost in hard mode too and are just as effective. You are free to use arc at pretty much any point when fighting large monsters, it actually made my low level BBI run as a warrior easier than it was on other classes at higher levels.
Aside from living armors and ghosts being a pain in the ass for ANY melee class, I do not buy the "BBI is super hard for a warrior" shit for a second, though I switched classes before Daimon 2.0. First form was cake, at least.

If the wolves are white (direwolves) then yes to those and the harpies. Ogres are just hard to hurt at low levels regardless, unless you have the appropriate element (fire for regular ogres, lightning for BBI elder ogres). For shit that resists ice I carry explosive rivet as an alternative, it's a little less convenient to use than sixfold but it has devastating damage and it's fire element. In BBI ricochet hunter is very often the best skill you have, even for things that aren't lightning-weak.

My previous arisen was this guy who always thought that he was destined for greatness. He was all about "adventuring" and training like a madman so he could face the dragon one day. But the dragon seemingly never appeared, and the people at his village basically thought that he was insane(which he sorta was).
Before the episode at the beach, everyone just basically knew him as a strange but harmless old man, with a strangely youthful nature. There where many stories going around about him taking out a groups of bandits with his bare fists, but no one really knew who had actually started them, and a lot of the younger people thought that they were just made up. The truth was that most of the people who were around at the time when it had happened had already died of old age or by fishing accident, and the bandits had learned a long time ago to conduct their business in a way that they would never come across this annoying old man.
When the dragon finally came and made him the arisen, he was... actually really happy about it. He left the village, grinning like he had just won the lottery, and this attitude never really changed during the adventure. It was all just very exciting and amusing to him.
The little elf girl, that happened to become his pawn, was like a (grand-)daughter he never had.

Replacing cutting wind with instant reset may not be a bad idea, both are fairly circumstantial but very useful when they do come in handy. Thing is, the bow usually suffices for situations where cutting wind is useful.
For bow fivefold flurry is a great standard skill for hitting dodgy targets, pentad shot is probably a lot stronger than you think and much better for nearby targets though. Both are totally devastating with blast arrows. Hailstorm volley is like the bow's brainsplitter, and also wrecks shit with blast arrows but it uses like 25 of them per shot. Mighty bend is rarely worth it, fivefold does about as much damage and refires much faster. It might be useful for the out of combat stealth bonus, but it seems from my experience that fivefold/pentad always get the full bonus for every arrow anyway and fivefold does almost as much damage per shot as mighty bend with a WAY higher refire rate.
If you like the aesthetic, I guess you'd call it, of mighty bend, Ranger's Deathly Arrow is like an actually-good version of it that flies really far and gets a huge damage bonus if you time the release correctly. But from the sounds of it you're playing strider for brainsplitter anyway.

I never had much trouble with Warrior. Lash and Arc get huge bonuses to attack power and due to how tanky you are with augments you can use them whenever the hell you damn well please.
Fighter on the other hand feels like it got a little screwed. Dragons Maw is a great skill, until you use it against anything that actually has defense. Because it's broken up into like 15 hits or something it gets burned hard by damage reduction. Skyward lash is also total ass for flying enemies compared to warriors jumping light attacks.

It's actually amazing once you get used to it. The arrow always follows the same arc, so you get better at aiming it the more you use it. You hold the button after shooting it, then release before it hits the ground to force it to explode early - doing it this way adds an extra explosion that hurts like fuck and pretty much always sets shit on fire.
The only problem with it is that you can really use it in tight spots. But if there is room for it it's probably your strongest option.

See, my pawn always used to do pretty well with it, but she still did a lot more with hailstorm volley. Fracture dart did more than cloudburst (iirc, whichever the second level is) but not hailstorm. Exodus slash is nice for the I-frames and the invincibility, but nothing beat stunning an ennemy out of their own attack with pommel bash.

Strider has the most powerful dagger skill (brainsplitter); ranger has the most powerful bow skills (tenfold). Assassin doesn't really bring a lot to the table for cheese, but I like it best of the yellow classes for the variety. Gale harness plus thousand kisses/deadly gouge can be pretty effective cheese, as well, just not nearly as much as brainsplitter (or immolation plus thousand kisses on magick archer).

Nobody's saying she didn't act rationally once the situation had reached its climax. The fact, however, remains that she's a whore who threw herself at you within minutes of meeting you, threw you under the bus immediately after you saved her life (regardless of the reasoning), and allowed you to be whipped, beaten, imprisoned, and (for all she knew) completely derailed your attempt to save the world by making you a criminal in the eyes of the duke. Honestly I don't hate Alienor because of her quest line or anything, she has the stereotypical princess role and it's fine.
I hate Alienor because she's the most likely to be choosen as a beloved and is tailor-made to be choosen by the dragon. Her personal quest is the very last thing you're often doing before the Final Battle, meaning she takes over Quina or Mercedes (who are out of the game) if you're not careful.
