Evolve uses an asymmetrical structure where five players, four playing as hunters and one as the monster, battle against each other in an industrialized alien planet called Shear.
Stage 2 is the transition to Free To Play + a lot of gameplay changes.

Every week, four hunters (one of each class) and one monster will be in the free rotation. There are currently 24 Hunters and 7 Monsters in total, though some are variations of others. By playing the character tutorials, you unlock one hunter (Markov) and one monster (The Goliath) to keep forever.
Additional monsters, hunters, perks, and skins are unlocked by earning silver keys. Silver keys are earned by playing the game, leveling up, or getting login bonuses. Currently you can't actually buy silver keys, presumably so they can test the unlock rate, but that's coming later.
There is also a monthly login bonus punch card. You get one punch for each day you log in. Beyond silver keys, this can directly award new Hunters and Skins.

Here's a simple strategy to dick monster mains in the most upsetting way possible :

>Once that's done, the monster is going to flee flee flee, DO NOT FIRE AT HIM but make sure he understands you're close
>Then, simply stay in a group and randomly wander around the map
>Do not ever dome the monster, stay in places with blatant hunter advantage (cover from ranged attacks and a lot of easily usable height)

>You will win once he Stages 3 or a bit after

Planet Scanner is a meme complaint. You can still feed yourself a full armor before shit goes down. Just means that reaching Stage 2 without a fight is rare, not that you need to anymore
Dome comes down INSANELY quickly once the hunters start doing real damage, usually if you down someone and they knock your armor you can just dodge for a bit because the dome is coming down. If you lose even a single health bar the dome will collapse immediately. There's zero rewards for good hunter teams that limit the damage
Air tracks is a complete meme, just means you're a BIT less likely to be tracked down, but you can still use water to fuck up tracking without slowing down

Play Meteor Goliath because he's straight up better at everything
Use Leap Smash to quickly add damage when the hunters can't move much
Use Rock Throw whenever it's charged, if you aim it properly you can knock up half a health bar
Use Charge to send players flying on the other side of the arena and massively damage them
Use Fire Breath every time it's out of cooldown

I have six hundred hours. As it stands hunters have only gotten stronger this patch, roaching, which was claimed to be removed, is still very much present. Hunters can no longer be staggered by attacks, making stunlock impossible. Monster combos have been weakened considerably since now you can't stagger. No more banshee into heavy auto in pounce.
Cloak, which was always considered very unreliable has now been replaced with a very reliable shield burst.
Hunters are now no longer under pressure to perform in domes, there's no made rush to try and scratch away at his health bar, the dome lasts 5 minutes unaugmented.
Dropshit timers are now incredibly quick, with stage 1 timers being near instant and stage 2 being a little lengthier. The main incentive for going to stage 3 right now is getting the longer respawn timers.
I nearly beat an former pro kraken with a bunch of mediocre pubs, he played with no respect, but still shows how quickly things can be turned. Trying to camp is really punishing right now.
The game was hunter favoured before the switch to F2P, and most of the changes were to make it easier for the hunters.

Shield Burst isn't very reliable at all, you can easily knock the shield off with a swipe or two
Domes will drop near immediately once you start doing real, permanent damage. Even if you manage to prevent having downed people, you will never get more than two health bars in reliably
Dropship is a complete meme, after the first dropship the drop times skyrocket. If you get a semi-wipe and an evolve, they'll sit one minute in the respawn queue

Doesn't everyone get wraith for free? When I first downloaded the stage 2 beta, wraith and meteor goliath were already unlocked, the latter of which I assumed was because it's part of some free rotation.
