If you're merely civilized you'll want to buy all the shit you can get, esp coal and other stuff for factories (otherwise you'll end up with a factory taking goddamn decades to be built), munitions, small arms, etc. If you produce a lot of a particular good you might want to stockpile it until you get factories that turn it in profitable stuff.

Icelandic is relatively speaking close, although certainly farther than the big three. Icelanders can understand a good chunk of speech from most of the others, but not the other way around. they need to make the Northeast more difficult, I live there but stopped playing there because literally everyone is easy as hell, especially the Republic of New York and Deustchrei (with the latter you can just capture Philly and then blob out of control due to extremely high demesne from religion, holding most land directly, wealthy land, and very fast centralization due to being the only de jure person in the kingdom.
