I won't say using them at low levels is a "bad idea" because the only really low-level place where they spawn is the demonic starting zone, but treat it like NetHack fountain-quaffing or something - if you do it, pray for a good result but prepare for a reroll. yeah, I was wearing robes. If I wore heavy armour, I'd have to invest into armour skill and even more into transmutations/earth in order to cast statue form in chain/plate. Then that missing XP would really hurt, because casting a super good statue form isn't much better than casting a mediocre statue form, and you don't have body armour in statue form. So that's more than a whole lair branch of XP gone to just getting Jiyva to work how I want her to, when I need that XP for dodging/UC.

Yeah the type of armour you're wearing and if you have high level spells has a really large effect on it. It's pretty stupid since transmuters only really use body armour if they are using blade hands and lots of races cast spells with no particular concern for spell hunger or power.
My one Jivya game was a TeCj, I ended up with 9/37/8 base stats and I was wearing a scale mail.

Sky. I'm considering giving it a minor tweak to basically undo the speed malus that gets stacked up through the mithril and eog evolutions since sky golems you encounter in the dungeon are a speed 0 monster. Might not be balanced though.

Because said spell is stupidly expensive to cast, they don't have very much in the way of offense (some anti-undead spells but that's about it), and the second best spell in the school is subject to dispel magic which is everywhere lategame.

No, anon. It's not that it's bad.
It's just that on a hybrid (the only classes which really want to pick non-offense schools like Life/Nature), you should take Nature over Life.
Why Nature?
>Herbal Healing heals 500 and is much, much easier to cast than Healing True.
A level 50 monk will have a >10% and probably >20% fail rate on Healing True, while Herbal Healing will have a <10% fail rate.
Healing heals only 300 HP and while it is easier to cast, !Healing is incredibly common.

Nature's Wrath is shit, its spells deal no damage and are mostly resisted.
Life's best spells are in Blessings of the Grail.

The capstone life spell is not incredibly good when it has >20% fail and disappears in a single turn from many strong monsters
Nature's utility spells also come earlier and it has forest creation, which is just incredible.

The force-trainer? I think they're supposed to be a hybrid since you get martial arts. Probably nature is still the strongestwell it's what I picked anyway though I don't really know what this class does. Crusade looks kind of interesting except the first two books appear to be trash and I don't know how much sp you end up with late game.

I had a Demonspawn with it go Qazlal and picked up the Shield of the Gong. I basically soloed every floor as soon as I stepped off the stairs and would stack so much regen I was basically at max health the entire time despite being entirely surrounded.
Is there a way to use the integrated toolset's prying quality to pry doors and windows? I can't figure out a way to do it without activating a crowbar.
