But the bad thing is that I don't feel like I'm making a steady progression. Like I'll go down to 52 or so, and start curbstomping games. Just crushing everybody and winning. But then when I get to high 50-60 suddenly I start performing awfully, like I can clearly see that I'm out of my depth and I'm the issue with my team.

Turret is worthless outside of Molten Core. Some positions can make it worthwhile, but the damn thing doesn't do any damage and can be killed easily enough by half the cast.

Teach people to play him right as an ambush predator rather than a point-and-click stupidity test. He's a fully-auto sniper. You get a position behind the enemy in assault mode, then grab a few quick kills before moving on. You DO NOT sit on the objective or the payload because that is where they will be looking for you and target you.
