My main deciding factor for getting trillion is if I can prevent the deaths of the characters. If I can prevent them and raise them to be good girls capable of defeating the big bad guy without dying then its all good but if the game needs me or wants me to intentionally kill off my characters then that's a dealbreaker.

No, they definitely made an effort, the first game is MUCH better than Trinity Universe, their previous crossover game with similar mechanics, and the second game also improved considerably. While it was more refined in the third game, it's the second that solidified what the series is today, the main innovation of 3 was the EXE drive which is relatively minor (although it balances the game better).

If I was to buy it then I'd try to get everything and aim for no death runs with every character. Hoping to get at least 50+ hours out of it because the last thing I bought was Neptunia U and was really disappointed on how short and repetitive that was.
Main concern with it was that almost every review or material about the game talks about how your characters can permanently die and how they had to kill off like four characters to finish the game. I really hate games that force you to kill off your characters in order to advance or get the best endings so I wanted to make sure that I don't have to kill off my characters in order to actually do things.
I prefer having the option to get good, learn the mechanics and to perfect endings where all your characters survive because you did everything correctly instead of being forced to make "sacrifices" just because the story requires you to.

Just finished the demo for the Odin Sphere remake and loved it, thinking about buying it.

That was mainly due to muramasa having an unlocked difficulty mode where you only have 1 hp so getting hit kills you.
The plat required that you clear that mode with both characters. After I got that plat, I never gave a crap about platting again.
But unless you're trying to plat, Muramasa's not too much harder than Odin.
