On the other side, it looks like a very cheap cash in with zero effort behind it, much like FFX X-2 in Europe, where the previously untranslated parts were released with Google-tier translations (Last Mission is almost hilarious in how bad it is), and literally ZERO media exposure. I mean holy shit it isn't even on Square-Enix' own website. That's some bad PR.
Still bought it immediately at full price because pretty faithful remake of what's probably my favorite game ever.It has a bit of the feel of a iOS/Android port, but still is pretty fun to play and while it uses the ancient inventory system at least now you get 3 quick item buttons.

Zero effort refers to the publishing effort for NA/EU Vita version. The game itself is pretty great, but it was pretty much a copypaste of the Androis/iOS stuff on the Vita code, and no advertising at all, just releasing it some day on the online store as a digital title. 3D is good, gameplay is good, music is good and if you don't like the remixes (which honestly are very good) you can play the game with the original GB music.
My main complaints to core gameplay, so far, are two really:
1)The game uses the exact same maps as the GB version transfixed in 3D, but instead of being able to see a whole "screen", you can only see part of them. Not a huge issue but still somewhat annoying sometimes.
2) They borked the leveling system a basically levelups are your pick between:
2 str 1 vit 1 will 0 int
2 vit 1 str 1 will 0 int
2 int 1 will 1 vit 0 str
2 will 1 int 1 vit 0 str
So you will always gain AT LEAST one point of vit and will, but also either 1 or 2 points of str or int, but none of the other stats. If stats cap at 99, and so do levels, the only way to cap stats would be
49 levels as 2 str 1 vit 1 will 0 int
49 levels as 2 int 1 vit 1 will 0 str
Basically, the other two levelups are a trap. I'm pretty sure that the 2 will and 2 vit levelups had 0 vit and 0 will respectively in the original.
