Some interesting changes.

Flat buffs to a lot of Chaos Warrior stuff. Yet Forsaken are more rebalanced with losses in fight stats but gains in speed and charge bonus. Marauder Horseman gained damage, reload, and accuracy which may make them feel like they actually do damage now. Faster warhounds may make a huge difference in early campaign to offset that.

Dwarves getting some cute buffs. Didn't use flame cannon much and now I may. Organ Gun having pen against trolls is nice. Slayers having a lower chance to get KD by splash attacks could be all they needed to be viable against big guys.

Empire doesn't see much changes. -speed to a few units (griffons/demigriffons)

Greenskins getting savage orc nerfs makes me happy for campaign.

VC seeing nerfs/buffs. Ethereal getting more physical resistance.

AI tweaks....

It can be fun, but for my taste the AI is really too stupid. Just put your units in a straight line and you will win. The AI will run towards you in a messy "formation" while they get shot. If they reach you they will fire one or two volleys (that aren't effective since the AI in incapable of forming a straight firing line) before the charge into melee combat.

Hounds buff is a speed buff which isn't very impactful when defending against them as they just get where they are going to get anyway. Where it's huge is letting Chaos Warrior campaigns counter Horseman more directly.

Marauder Horseman's offense was shit and ignorable. They are a terrible unit. AI armies need to run a lower count of them. Multiplayer and campaign chaos both needed them buffed.

Brets are already playable in the MP. So having them as a paid DLC would be rather dumb since they will just be adding on to the roster and implementing all the campaign features. Doesn't make sense to have customers pay for something they have access to already rather than something completely new. i've always seen greenskins as the cover all bases army. like empire, they have every type of unit (except flying), just weaker versions than everyone else has. their only strong point is their infantry and monstros

What are the best ways to regain leadership? Like if a unit routes and returns how should you handle that unit so it gets to a state where it's useable without just routing again?

Also just won a VC campaign game with a random lvl 1 vampire lord + a few zombies and a basic VC settlement garrison vs templehoof (hoff?) stack on turn 6. He's got less then 100 health left. Enemy skeletons didn't disintegrate when I capped their necromancer leader. Came down to crumble.

As it stands, Brettonnia has two tiers of their siege military building, but only one of them gives trebuches, so maybe some more siege units, though I'm not sure what that would be. Catapults?

They also have the same issue with their infantry barracks. One of the tiers doesn't give anything, so we can definitely expect some more infantry.

Their infantry serves a single purpose and that is to be an anvil for your horses.

They could perhaps add higher armored infantry, or grail pilgrims with reliquae to give a passive leadership buff and defense bonus to units so lines can hold better.

You have your own roster of infantry decent at skirmishing and meele fighting.
You can recruit insanely OP units in Constantinople, just make treaties with other europeans and focus on the east man, if you cant deal with the turks just sit out their ammo in loose formation, I dont even know how you can have trouble, turks have an awful roster, trash their meele units and their Skirmishers will easily lose to yours due to the morale penalty of the army routing.
Early Byzantines are the easiest faction in the entire game, more than England even.
Also, your Skoutatoi Spearmen are really fucking OP, strong unit, big in numbers, Get Drill Squares asap in all of your castles.

Elves straight up fighting for Bretonnia doesn't really make any sense when the vast majority of the population don't know the link between The Lady and elves in the first place. Dismounted knights doesn't make sense either, unless it's squires or something, but even the lowest tier nobles would have a mount. The only other idea I have is something like a recruitable Griffon or hippogryph knight to make up for Bretonnia's lack of strong single units that every other faction has, but those kinds of mounts are supposed to be lords and heroes only.

When I played the late Byzantine campaign I just besieged Constantinople on the first turn, of course they sallied forth but I managed to beat them thanks to all those elite unit you start with (and also because sally forth battle are rather easy in Medieval 2).

Once you get back Constantinople you don't have to reconquer the Balkans immediately, as the Sicilians are going to invade them back with a ridiculous ammount of Norman knights anyways.

This was a pretty fun campaign for me atleast with several critical moment like 2 consecutive jhiads on Constantinople, the endless Fatimid stacks and of course, the fucking Mongols.

I've been eyeing Atilla since its summer sale time but I'm still iffy on whether its worth buying or not.

Having played out Rome II and having a several dozen hours in TW:W is it worth it for me to go back and get Atilla?

I'm not averse to staying with Rome II to get my fill of the time period but I wanted to see if theres any little things they added that made it markedly better apart from the siege escalation thing and bringing back the families and stuff.
