Can someone tell me how to get PJ64's audio to not stutter every 3 seconds?
Increasing buffer seemed to make it worse.
>>

1. insert tampon in asshole

2. pray
>>
>>146597250
Why are you using Azimer's 0.40 beta? That's an awful plugin. Even Jabo's should be better.
>>
>>146597539

jabo's should require fewer tampons, anyway
>>
>>146597539
It seemed to be the only one that would work. The wiki recommended it too. Maybe I'll just get the accuracy plugins. I tried using a newer Azimer's but that just crashes.

Any hints on emulating Metroid Prime for the first time? When does the shader cache get built up well enough to where the stuttering will finally cease?

The problem is that you have the HLE checkbox enabled for audio. Jabo's audio is LLE only. It's not a perfect plugin, but it's vastly superior to azimer's.

Until you've seen the entire game it won't stop. Switch to Ishiiruka for asynch. I wish it had some default shader that it used instead of invisibility while things load though. I'll take ugly unlit models over nothing.

Yup. PJ64 is more compatible. It also has better performance too. GOod news is that it's going to keep improving!
>>
>>146598873
>Ubershaders
Make large general purpose shaders that covers most of what games use, so there's no need to generate shaders.
>Multi-threaded generation
Shader generation stutters because it takes longer than a frame to generate, so the rest of the emulator has to wait till it's done. This would make the generation happen faster by offloading the generation to multiple threads (or cores), making stuttering happen less.

Bad dumps. Doubt it's your connection, unless you live in a shithole.

Really, "scene releases" are last-resort. No-Intro and Redump should be your two primary sources.
>>
>>146602817
To be honest RSP plugins really don't matter here. It's just the graphics here. I'm wondering if you use Intel GPUs.
>>
and this is why pj64 is still a joke compared to m64.

not having a native 64bit binary today means your project is dead and your users cant even use your program.
>>

And how about you shut up? Not having 64bit doesn't mean shit about the quality of emulation.
>>

Nope. Geforce 970.
Most of the time it crashes. The static interpreter which I think is Hatcat's will actually launch. I'm just using the version of glide that came with it at the moment.

It means nothing when 32bit m64p runs faster

Always use PJ64's RSP. No real reason to use another. Unless maybe you want to use a HLE RSP if you want HLE gfx + HLE audio.
>>

Wait what. I guess Project64 really has a problem with Windows 8/10. Which is kind of weird.

Oh, RSP != RDP.
RSP is more like something that does both graphics and audio. Graphics = RDP.

It's weird though because Glide64 for PJ64 is the one that's the most compatible. I don't know why this happens, you're a special case. Maybe the drivers are fucked up or something, I don't know.

Well, if mupen already plays the games you care about, at a satisfactory level,, then you're fine to use that. Your problem appears to be unique. Did you try getting a build from the site luigi suggested?

>>
>>146604690
Okay nevermind about SSF, thought it was still kinda alive. But anyway try to tell people are not using Nestopia or FCE Ultra to emulate NES games. Those are still 32-bit, or how people are using 32-bit bins of PCSX2 on the stable releases. (I'm not sure if it has a 64-bit binary.)
>>
>>146604690

ePSXe and Project64 are both defunct. SSF I will give you.
>>
>>146605225
It was truly 64-bit but games are still programmed like it's 32-bit because they don't need much more precision than that. Maybe some are really using the 64-bit capabilities but then it might be nothing to emulate even on a 32-bit CPU.

So what N64 emulator isn't dead then?
>>
>>146606897

No, in this instance, Luigiblood is right: provided all the relevant data is there in those disc images, they're preserved. Whether they can be read flawlessly is irrelevant.
>>
>>146607184

As far as I can tell, none of them. No one with the expertise necessary is willing to do shit, people willing to do shit don't have the expertise, and it's all moot anyway because there is no consumer hardware powerful enough to run any particularly accurate resulting emulator.

Blame stagnating CPU power and lack of easy multi-threading solutions. All those extra cores don't mean dick-diddle-shit if emulation is only feasible single-core due to timing issues.
>>
>>146607707

>It's why until mednafen-PSX I refused to touch 3D emulation with a 10-foot pole.
Angrylion has less known bugs than mednafen.. The N64 is probably more resource intensive than PS1 which would explain why mednafen can get away with being sub-optimal.

Left sticks works perfectly in the menu, in options steering is set to left stick, but when I'm in control of the car I can't steer. Any ideas?
>>
>>146648354
Setup your controls again, both in PCSX2 and in GT4, start from a fresh save.

Also before you go farther in the game.

If you crash a the start of a race start it in SW mode then switch back after all camera movement are done and you have control of your vehicle, the crashes go away after you play the game for an extended period of time (1-2h).

Use the 1.4.0 stable OGL plugin if you want HW mode since the more recent ones have stuttering above native res, DX9-11 shouldn't have that particular problem but they have other.

You will always crash in licenses test if you use the rounding mode fixes to get rid of the sticky test everywhere else in the game.

You're not getting full-speed in George V.

Remember that Dreamcast is the easiest console to play pirate games. Just burn it and you can play it just fine.
Because it's not playable on emulators doesn't mean it's not playable at all.
>>
>>146649932

Not the easiest because of the GD-ROMs.
>>
>>146649932
Remember that you have to butcher most of the games to make them fit on a CD in the first place to do that, GDemu might have been a better example.

That boss was pretty hard. That's level 4, right? Not sure if I've got further than that. Level starts off well in the caves but then you just run down that boring stretch of flat land. They really gave up on it.
>>
>>146652865

Yeah with the birds dropping the monkeys/imps/whatever. Then you have two skeleton dragons in a row after the checkpoint before reaching the boss. I never manage to beat those without losing health.

I tried with the clock, it doesn't seem to affect them. The axe is probably better here but I don't think it's a guaranteed drop in this level and even then it's still pretty tricky.
>>
>>146653584
Doesn't it drop at the start with the first few candles?
>>
>>146653925

I don't think so, you have a clock and a jar but the only axes I've got in this level were dropped by enemies. Maybe it's on one of the less accessible candles over the moving platforms, I generally don't bother with those.

How do I prevent PCSX2 from ghosting effects on Okami? I'm on 1.5.0 june 20 2016 revision

Using OpenGL hardware and partial CRC Hack level, which allows the brush effect to give the original screen like effect of the game, but then I also get ghosting.

higher level CRC hack also removes the screen effect of brush painting.

I tried switching to DX11 with the same partial CRC hack and seems better with less ghosting, but now some effects seem to have a big square around them. What's the best setup for renderer? OpenGL hardware, DX11 or DX9?

OpenGL hardware

I'm pretty sure that this ghosting wasn't present last I checked, mind dropping your save somewhere so I can try on an older revision?

Been living under a rock, has N64 and SNES emulation improved much over the years?
I'm still using PJ64 1.6 and get mixed responses about using newer versions of the emulator, what's up with that?
And god knows what version of SNES9X I have, it runs so well that I haven't bothered looking for updates. Thanks guys.

I remember seeing a picture that showed PCSX2 emulated vs PS3 and the PS3 HD version was supposedly worse or something.

>>
>>146663786
Yeah, 99% of the time it looks like on console with minor exceptions (HUD in AC shadows in Jak), unfortunately it's a bit too slow to use effectivelly on Okami unless you have a very good computer (think gen3 i5)

You can switch with F9 for a quick comparison.
>>
>>146663981
Yeah runs too slowly here. I'm searching for Okami ghosting PCSX2 and I'm not finding much info about this issue, weird.
>>
>>146664868
Could be a post-process issue, PS2 used to do alot of weird shit to imitate postprocess effects like bloom and motionblur.
Set skipdraw to 2, if that doesn't work or has already been suggested, disregard this post.
>>
>>146664969
Skipdraw 1 or 2 gives me a black mess issue that looks like this

>>
>>146665617
As a general rule of thumb, if a game is having graphical issues the first two things I try are set to native resolution and set skipdraw to 2.

Skipdraw gives me the same black blur issue that is shown here >>146665416 even at native resolution.

I can get zero ghosting if I make CRC hack full, however it removes the canvas effect of painting. It also changes how the game is supposed to look. I mean the wiki pics like the one I'm posting also seem to lack the original game's filter.
>>
>>146667149
No, but you can try it I guess.

>>146667323

Does ghosting get worse as resolution goes up?

How's 2x?
>>
>>146667323
You might have to just lose the filter then unfortunately.
>>
>>146666649
Before 1.3.1/1.4 you were getting the game like it looks with CRC hack set to full with more recent versions, so there's that.

From what I've tried no way to eliminate the superfluous ghosting, only break things further

Wrong. The people here whining about PJ64 haven't even bothered reporting issues on github. How do you expect the devs to fix it, if they never receive reports?
