Vault-tec workshop supposedly will allow you to edit your settlers faces. But they'd just be settlers I guess. Maybe one of the experiments you can do to them is mind control, so you could make the settlers into entirely different people. Although that seems way more morally messed up than making synths.

oh, better idea than a mine. Some kind of hopper that acts like a scavenging station, requires a settler to be assigned to it. Animation would be the settler shoveling raw metal scrap into a smelter which produces steel. Or sand shoveled into a furnace which produces glass. So factories would require settlers (or automatrons) to produce goods for "free". Oil generator might be a massive still that turns 100 corn into 100 oil.

Intel/Nvidia is the most optimal config anybody should be going for. People on streams claim to not have any outstanding issues with AMD hardware but they clearly do when their year old hardware can't play the same game thay're been streaming on and off can't do it no more. meanwhile my i5/GTX650 build used for emulating and GOG games does everything just as good as when it was my main gaming rig.

also, those head parts for the robots scare the fuck out of me. gave automatron-388 all warmonger armor and gutsy thruster with a skull mask. so one time I decide to finally get the witch place quest a try this playthrough so I could see how optimal a dual shishkebab bot is for combat. I fast travel to the witch place and immediately go inside. when the scary thumping noises happen, 388 tried to catch up to me but my mistake was turning around to see if it was so it scared me. It now has the factory helmet.

Can anyone with a lot of experience when it comes to modding, FO4 specifically tell me if there's an approximate number of active plugins that you don't want to go above?
I've been downloading mods all night and I've got way more than I was planning, but I don't think I have enough for the game to start acting unstable.
Currently at 63 active plugins with maybe about 6-7 more that I'm going to download. That should be fine, right? I thought I remember reading that for NV you shouldn't go above approximately 120.

I'm not that concerned to be honest. I've booted up my game and played for 5 minutes every 5-6 plugins, I just wasn't sure if FO4 can handle less than Skyrim/New Vegas.
I'm just curious what other peoples experiences have been. I'm sure there are a few anons here that run 100+ plugins but they most likely have better PCs than I do.

I'm at 50 plugins with some 2k/4k texture packs at things seem to be alright
it's just lot a of trial and error to understand what reliably works and what may cause issues
I started with just around 15 to keep things light and try to stick to mods that are well documented and relatively established and have some discussion so that if you need to troubleshoot, it might be an issue lots of people have run into already

the manufacturing system is cute and obviously had some potential that they failed to capitalize on, like having settlers work on assembly/deconstruction lines or have some scavenging system to send groups of settlers out to bring back large pieces of loot that needs to be processed, letting lines run continously and process materials from settlement inventory ETC
