You know you don't have to one-turn Hades to advance right, you just have to beat him which is easily doable even for a f2p. One-turning him is an optional objective that just gives you a few avatar coins.
And it's an optional objective that will still be there two months from now when you will have had more chances to get Alice or one of the other debuffer medals that they'll release in the future. It's also possible to eventually just get strong enough to one-turn him without a debuffer.

Hades has level 3 atk and level 3 defense buffs. Alice is the only medal in the entire game that can remove enemies buffs. If you have her you can debuff him in the first move and steamroll him in 1 turn. Otherwise it will take you 5-7 turns to take him down with luck.

Yep. It's basically sticking 7 of the same medal together to get a stronger damage. Once you hit stage 200 and beat it you get the Iron Bangle I think it was and it lets you start doing it. Here's a chart that shows you the ideal way to do it on the commons, though doing it on paid medals is better to just throw them to 5 or 6 and just throw the extras you get onto them every once in a blue moon.
With the fairies it's required you guilt them since the damage is so low before that, and even if you get it to 6* it's still very low.

The stars are pretty much the level the medal is.

Level 6 is the highest you can go. To evolve one medal to the next you have to level a medal to the max and have the required evolve medals.

You'll notice starting from 3* that medals will have some blank or orange dots next to their values. These "orbs" indicate how much that particularly medal's special multiplier has been improved. As your medals evolve, you get to add more orbs to them. Orbs are added by leveling a medal up (re: giving it exp, NOT evolving it) with a duplicate medal that is also the same level as the base medal. For instance, feeding a 4* Mushu to a 4* Mushu will give the base Mushu an orb, thus increasing the multiplier it has for its special attack. Note that both the base medal and medal being fed must match *s. Also, if you feed a medal that already has orbs to a compatible medal that does not have orbs, then the base medal will gain orbs equivalent to what the one being fed has, plus an extra one for the feed medal itself.

No worries mate. If you buy the unlock all special quests deal there's an awesome set of missions which shit out EXP, Evolve and Munny medals. Coupled with 1AP and it's life on easy street.
