Just finished Blood and Wine and there's one thing I don't understand - why is Dettlaff getting so much hate? Sure, he slaughtered tons of people, but none of this would have happened if it weren't for Syanna. He was living away from civilization, minding his own business, until a sociopathic bitch decided to play with him. He was like an animal, Regis said it himself, pack mentality and all, so why does everyone expect him to act like a rational and responsible adult when it obviously goes against his whole personality?

I'm sure the time skip meant to indicate that they were searching for Detlaff off screen, but they couldn't find him until it was too late. It's that kind of scene that work well on the paper or in the book, when you can just describe it, but it hard to show in-game. The only way they could that that I can think of is adding a cutscene in between showing Geralt and Regis searching for Detlaff and failing in finding him or forcing player to spend three in-game days doing random shit before he will be able to move the main storyline forward, which also has it's fair share of flaws.

nah, man, Griffin armor looks like shiiiiiiit. Unless you're spamming igni as you main source of damage(which is not very effective), glyphs and talents have good enough sign intensity to bring you to 100% burning or high aard knockdown.
Griffin school techniques is a powerful talent for all specs though, because of the stamina regen. Recommend wearing some medium armor like wolven or manticore or using that runeword thing.

Everyone keeps saying that the witcher ending is the best because Ciri gets to do what she wants and be happy and free of her obligations.
But with the empress ending she says it's the only way she can change anything.
By the end of the game Ciri has grown immensely. She enters the gate of her own will because she knows it's not over and only she can save the worlds. She is making decisions on her own. Life is not only about what makes you happy. In life you must face obligations and not only think about happiness and freedom.
With the empress ending she not only saves the world from the white frost but goes on to be a ruler that will bring a peace the continent has never seen. She starts her life as part of a cursed bloodline that came about from hate between races and she ends as an empress to heal the lands and bring unity. Shes saves the world from destruction and goes on to bring the world a peace that only she can achieve. On the surface the witcher ending seems the best and certainly the happiest but with the empress ending Ciri steps up once again and stops running.
With all the facts and everyone's opinion laid out in front of her Ciri makes the conscious decision to assume that responsibility herself.
There are enough legendary witchers out there but only one Ciri.

Why does most of early-mid game Gwent just seem like luck and deck RNG?
Is it meant to be unbalanced unless you play people in a specific order? It probably changes later on but for the most part it really doesn't seem that skill based, just who has the better overall deck and how lucky you get with the 10 starter cards and redraws.
Also, somewhat off topic but I've noticed pretty much 90% of the cards being sold in B&W are Scoia'tael and Monsters, do people bother with those factions or are they just shitty meme decks?

Scoia'tael and monsters are fine vs. the poor AI, with the same being true for Skellige really. All three decks would be bad vs. actual players.
I played Scioa'tael on my B&W playthrough as soon as I had the cards. The problem with squirrels in-game is actually that it's just a boring deck. A mechanic that interacts with agile wasn't added until HoS.

Just finished the Blood and Wine DLC, that final Dethlaff fight was tedious due to that awkwardly choreographed instant kill bat attack. Don't know what to make of that, considering that every other stage of the battle was a cakewalk, and the second stage was relatively simple as well, aside from that one attack.

Yes I know, I got the hang of it, although that "its impossible to due from sprinting in a straight line" is grossly inaccurate. Most of the time you need to follow up that sprint with a dodge roll just as the bats are released. Even then, there's still the possibility you die anyway because of the attack's awkward delivery.

It also gives a ton levels, if you want to avoid leveling just go loot the Skellige waters if you haven't already. Literally free chests of guaranteed loot that scales, not much danger as well since you 1-shot everything underwater.

Ink was pretty rare, also coloured ink in India would've been a hell of a trek just to have a colored tattoo. Advancement has nothing to do with it. They don't have steam engines so you have to assume that it would've been a conventional trade route. Bandits and highway men would've had to be low-key. Tattoos would've given them away as pagans or other-than-christians which isn't something you want when you're raiding the coach-roads.

Sell to the right vendors, swords to blacksmiths, armors to armorer etc. Don't buy shit like string or whatever, you'll loot most of that stuff as you explore.

Nah, as far as I remember, it doesn't matter the specialty. Armorers give you the same prize as a blacksmith, but NEVER sell to the ''generall'' merchants, they pay shit.
