This isn't about winning or losing, that wasn't even my post. This is about glitches and other "meta" shit that obviously wasn't intended or tested for in the game, that confers a direct and immediate advantage over other players. It makes the game less fun for the people who either don't know how or refuse to use it. Replayed the campaign for nostalgia, and I just noticed something. The militia attack Demeter as it will "prevent quick access to IMC reinforcements." This makes literally no sense for 1 of 3 reasons.
1. If Demeter is on the "frontier side" of explored space, how does this prevent the IMC for getting there? Why would lack of fuel matter if they already arrived at their destination anyway? Wouldn't the IMC have more than enough resources in the core systems to simply make the jump there and construct a new station?
2. If Demeter is on the "Earth side" of explored space, wouldn't that leave the Militia forces stranded in IMC territory? Where would they acquire enough fuel to make a jump back if it is absolutely required to refuel before making the jump? And they would be in not only IMC, but Earth governed space, where slaughtering potentially millions of innocent people would result in hasty recompense?
3. If Demeter is in some kind of mid way point between the "Earth side" and "frontier side" then again, how would the Militia get back to the frontier if refueling is required at that station to make it to the frontier in the first place?
Also, how could the Militia still be in fighting shape after committing their entire force to attacking Demeter, in what would result in massive losses for them, but comparatively minor losses to the IMC's military?
Why would Graves hold denying evac against Spyglass if McAllen did literally the same thing?
How does Graves reconcile the fact that the Militia committed an act of undeniable terrorism and destruction while the IMC only took action in defense?
Why would Graves hold using the Spectres against the IMC when he himself used Spectres in all of the operations leading up to Demeter?
If the Militia is composed of pirates and mercenaries as well as civilian forces, what would stop them from simply attempting a take over of the Frontier once the looming threat of the IMC is gone?

I have a follow-up question. Why do the militia claim to have the high ground regarding this? Didn't they use Spectres the entire time as well? Even if they stole them, they're still using robotic forces just as the IMC does.
If the militia just stopped the war there would be no need for all of these battles. Even if the militia claims that the IMC is slaughtering civilians,which is highly unlikely for a company whose main goal is profits and mining, aren't they causing more death and civilian casualties by constantly choosing to fight in populated areas such as Fracture, Angel City, and whatever map the second campaign mission was on.

This is most likely the case.The story was probably shaped in response to the outcry over the lack of a campaign mode. Most of the special entrances in the campaign are probably just cut assets (the IMC drop pod opening for Demeter was likely just a standard opening they cut for taking too long etc.) with a quick voice over slapped over standard arena gameplay. All of the gameplay events still happen in classic playlists as well, there's no way of knowing if those came before or after the plot, but my guess is before.

That's my entire point really. There is no way the attack on Demeter could have worked without more or less exhausting, stranding, or destroying most of the Militia fleet. I can't imagine how the IMC is on a "defensive footing" when all the Militia forces would likely be at 25% combat effectiveness from that point on.

That's the kicker though. The IMC can warp to Demeter, rebuild it in a year or two, and be back in the frontier in force. Given that the "air support around Demeter is bigger than all the Militia fleets combined." I can only imagine the bulk of IMC forces dwarf the Militia by a factor of 5 or more. All they did was give the IMC a reason to commit more forces to fighting them, give them a very valid justification for future attacks, and delay the inevitable by a few years.
