Basically, they're shitting on the old and trying to push the new so that it becomes the mainstay in /gsg/. This is what happened with EU3 being tossed to the side and EU4 being the new 'go-to' EU game despite it's inherent inferiority to it's predecessor.

So I finish the USSR off in my first Germany game only to find I don't have enough warscore to take up to the urals like the Germans historically wanted. I think that is the perfect ending to this game, classic paradox.

Is there any reason not to put 1 medium armor brigade in your standard infantry division? Seems like the huge armor boost destroys the enemy unless they have AT in every single infantry division.

How do I organize muh navy?
I was thinking 1 CL 4 DD my basic flotilla for convoy raiding, then use that formation in a modular format for screening of larger capital ships (ie 1 CA 4 CL 16 DD or 1 CA and 4 screening flotillas)

My standard infantry division is 9x inf 1x MT, then support arty recon and hospital. Its armor value is 33, which puts it out of the range of enemy infantry divisions, even when they have infantry anti-tank weapons researched. Enemy divisions pretty much have to have an anti-tank or medium armor+ themselves to pierce.
I suppose an intelligent enemy would see this and start allocating anti-tank to every one of their divisions, since they are almost 1/3 the cost of medium armor themselves. But right now it seems pretty broken against a non-adapting AI.

also, I just love going specialised motorised and building basically motorised divs for the entire game; sure I upgrade my existing infantry divisions with a fuck ton of arty but motorised can shred standard infantry and if ou give them say 1-2 light armor, 1 spg and 1 td they can effectively counter most early-mid game counter attacks by armor divisions

Each angle is +20 to combat width, so you have to attack from 3 additional angles to add one fucking division. Besides, base width of 80 is more often reduced by terrain effects, so you gonna have one division at the time. Also, you don't really need artillery company when you have 4 artillery battalions.

Playing France in HoI4 is fun, you have great access to ressources and you can go full Frenchteress by building bunkers EVERYWHERE...
But staying democratic is hell. By going communist, you make sure Germany has to attack the soviets before they go to you, removing much of the pressure on the northen front. Italians being crap and English going to war with them anyway, you just have to spare 15 divisions to make sure Spain isn't fucking you in the ass and you're set.
I go full uber defensive infantery and use my time to grow a huge number of heavy tanks for fun. I developped mostly fighters to make sure Krauts aviation do nothing but maybe I should use bombers. Also why i find boats to be useless ?
