Nope no mods we are both brand new to the game, played the tutorial and then went to start a game. I hosted first and the game just kept auto pausing and saying my friend was 2 days behind but pausing never caught him back up like it does in CK2. He tried to host and within 10 seconds there was the out of sync message and how we should save the game and stop playing or bad things will happen message.
Might have to just wait for some patches on this one.

What is the best way to manipulate US politics with historical focus on? Like, to prevent US from joining Allies or turning them commie/fascist so they left Allies and joined Comintern/Axis. I tried to support communist party and spent a year staging a coup only for it to result in a civil war in which commies were obviously crushed. Yes they currently collaborate using the US military. If the EU were to unify into a superstate however, the US military would no longer be necessary. The EU military could serve as a valid substitute and compete with the US military. There would effectively be two superpowers each possibly being driven by different agendas. Perhaps in this timeline, the US serves as a power for nationalism while the EU serves globalism and a sort of cold war emerges
