It is I've played it and finished it. It's a very jewish game. There's "bosses" that can wipe out 10 units and you're forced to either pay up to get your party back or wait 3 hours to just resume. You can't really lose in that game.

You can play it offline, you start from Cornelia and you go to the void to fight Exdeath who is the last boss. if you want to play more you can buy the 3 expansion zones which I didn't mind you. As of now that game never got updated and RK is like its spiritual successor but much better.

It's one of the best Final Fantasies in terms of the Job system and gameplay. Bosses have all kinds of interesting gimmicks that you can get through with more than pure equipment damage output, too, Grinding doesn't directly power up anything but HP/MP, AP to unlock abilities, and gil, so you can't _just_ overlevel and stomp on things because your power will always be somewhat relative to the point of the game you're at (though having higher health and mana pools are always a reliable fallback). And most of the jobs are fairly viable in and of themselves, but you can also mix and match abilities after learning them.
Due to these mechanics, it's very friendly to speed-running, low level runs, limited job challenges, etc. The Four Job Fiesta are a set of self-imposed challenges to randomly use a limited number of the total jobs in the game and see how well you can do with the restrictions.
Little should actually be impossible, but luck might be more of a factor for some situations (one of the classes, the Berserker, is permanently... berserked, so you have no control over the character- despite this, a 4-Berserker Run IS possible)

They never really went beyond "DLC". So basically, you had 3-5 fights a piece of land. There like 10 of them. You got core class people for free and you had to pay a dollar for a premium character. Overall, people prefer the GBA version (preferably patched with the music/slowdown fixed) as definitive, but any are possible. Here's a list of some key differences per version.
SNES: Can use the Ancient Library Teleport glitch and the magic underflow bug. !Tame/Calm works on enemies that AREN'T Magic Beasts (does not include Omega).
PS1: Basically the SNES with a terrible translation and load times. Generally only use this if you have no other option.
GBA: Probably the most entertaining translation (this isn't really the best story-heavy game); auto-dash option, Quicksave glitch available (US only), !Calm works on Omega. (New bonus dungeon, bosses, and jobs, but they're not relevant to the Four Job Fiesta.)
Mobile/Steam: Based on the GBA version. with tricks and glitches fixed. !Calm only works on Magic Beasts, Omniscient can cast Reset at 0 MP, and so on. Some interesting effects as pertaining to jobs - !Gaia can roll on the entire level list instead of being limited to the caster's level, so it can cast from lv. 1-99 effects (this can be good and bad, depending on the tileset). Berserkers no longer target dummy targets, and try to attack the closest valid target instead of randomly picking each time.
You can Fiesta on anything, though; there are even multiple rom patches allowed for play (including unlocking all jobs from the start and rebalance mods), since it's really all for fun and charity.

Then decide what kind of run you want:
Normal: One random job per crystal, from that crystal. Freelancing is only allowed until you get your Wind Crystal job. You must have at least one character in each crystal job you have, but extras can be duplicates of those jobs (until the 4th crystal when everybody has to be a chosen job). You are allowed to swap jobs around as long as you keep the restrictions (e.g. Monk/RM/Bard/Chemist, you could make your Chemist a Bard, but you'd have to make your Bard a Chemist, too.)
Random: One random job per crystal, from ALL crystals to that point (e.g. Water Crystal is random out of all Wind/Water Crystal jobs). Rules are otherwise the same as normal, but duplicates are possible, so if you roll more than one of the same class, you MUST have at least that many of that class as are in the different crystal job 'slots' (e.g. Monk/Monk/Bard/Chemist means you have to have 2 Monks in your party)
Chaos: One random job per crystal. Can be ANY job on ANY crystal (not including Mime and Advance jobs). Otherwise the rules are as above (you might be Freelancing for quite a while if you don't use a job unlock patch).
Job Pool Modifiers:
Team 750: Your pool is limited to jobs that can break rods and similar support (White Mage, Black Mage, Blue Mage, Red Mage, Time Mage, Summoner, Geomancer, Bard, Dancer, Chemist) - the name refers to the elemental rods costing 750 Gil each.
Team No 750: Your pool is limited to jobs that can't break rods (Knight, Monk, Thief, Mystic Knight, Berserker, Ninja, Beastmaster, Ranger, Samurai, Dragoon).

Gameplay modifiers:
Natural: Instead of picking and choosing from the jobs you have available, each job slot is ONLY for the character the crystal is associated with (Bartz=Wind, Lenna=Water, Faris=Fire, Galuf/Krile=Earth). Characters must remain Freelancer until their job is unlocked. No outside abilities for a job. Can't be used with Upgrade.
Upgrade: Everybody must be the same class. Learned abilities may be equipped. After reaching the appropriate crystals, the player can UPGRADE to the next job (i.e. jobs are rolled as they would be, but instead of picking and choosing from all unlocked jobs, the party moves on to the next unlocked job). Can't be used with Natural.
Special mode:
Classic: This is basically a very limited Random/Natural game: you can only have jobs from FF1. (Knight, Monk, Thief, Red Mage, White Mage, Black Mage). Duplicates are likely, though Red Mage can only max out at 3 because it's a Water Crystal job.

Oh, yeah, because I feel like I didn't emphasize it enough, on Upgrade the player gets to choose WHEN to UPGRADE as long as they've reached the appropriate milestones.
The idea is that you're not forced to leave a class before you've learned all the abilities you want, and/or if you really like that class, but once you've upgraded there's no going back.
That is a lot of chests.
Fuck I hate this part right now. I am forced into using only Terra and Locke, and they are both shit, Locke is literally the worst person in this game, he is so fucking weak.

Locke's biggest (non-Esper related) advantage doesn't come into play until late in the game - he can eventually equip some of the best weapons and armor for a fighter type.Technically, he has the potential for the highest consistent damage in the game, though you'd have to grind far past the point of challenge to get that.
In most respects he's just an average fighter, though, and his equipment's not great in the early game.

Hey guys, I just got to the Hunter's Camp in XII and feel a little underleveled. The mobs in the next area after the camp are like 37-38 and I'm around 33-31. I have very little gil remaining to upgrade any more gear. Should I grind around or sidequest a bit before continuing on?

It's for character experience, the rank exp is somewhat low for the stamina used. But getting your own characters up should be a first priority, then do the awakening vortex for awakening mats later.

Look at a mix table. You can make your guys immune to elements, boost their max HP, deal defense piercing damage and dish out massive heals. If you have enough prep time, you can completely dominate anything. A single Chemist by itself can take out Omega and Shinryu.

There are only 6 Nightmare categories, three magical and three physical, which they basically confirmed once the 7th Nightmare hit JP.

It hasn't been that bad. Usually by reading the clan log or talking people they give enough to go on where it hasn't been too bad. The hunts in particular though I will go to an area they're supposed to be and they just don't show. The one I looked at a guide for was the fafnir I did most recently, and only after a guide did I know that I have to get to the area he's in by NOT going through another area in the zone (which was quite a central hub within the zone so fuck that). The crystal at least has some kind of continuity and my shitty makeshift map has been helping a bit.
I think as far as cryptic bullshit goes though, XI has desensitized me to every other game's bullshit. That game was the king of cryptic bullshit, you could barely do even the most simple of tasks without consulting a guide in that game.

To sum up the wall of text: Dahaka uses almost all magic, with his rarely used normal attack as his only physical attack. His aoe magic grants him elemental modes that change his attacks and elemental resistances.
You only need to worry about a few things. First is removing his Haste with Dispel or Banishing Strike (overwriting it with Slow does not count towards the target score), which might suck if he decides never to use it. Second is his stagger state: Dropping his HP down to below 60% causes him to fall over and do nothing for a while (and for a little longer if he's Slowed). Use that to hit him with everything you've got, because his defense (not resistance, only defense) is lowered during it. Third is after he gets back up from getting staggered because he gains a new aoe attack that'll most likely ruin everything and even makes him immune to Slow, so kill him quickly before he decides to use it.
Take advantage of the stagger (just like in the XIII games), and this'll be one of the easier +++ battles you've done. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna use the MC2 lode I got from this battle on Lightning.

Eh, I watched it, but the guy clearly sucked doing it. I remember when Matt demoed the Platinum demo, he very much seems to be a PR guy rather than a solid player, seeing as he missed several enemies but seemed to actually be trying.
So sorry, its not really something that soured me or made a concrete argument in the turn based vs action debate. Since this is obviously a scripted fight to a point, and we clearly have more to it that they didn't show, this was toward the end. Bad showing on their part though to start with the tail end of a summon fight with a guy who isn't a good player. They make it easier because something worse than a bad player, is a bad player repeatedly having to repeat the trial because he sucked, taking up paid stagetime. They really should have gotten someone else.
Honestly though, with how fumbly people played both Duscae and PD, I imagine most saying Matt sucks will probably do worse than he did with the real thing.

I dislike Amano art, but Faris is his most successful design for me. The pirate suit is magnificent. Just give her purple hair and I'm golden. Nevertheless I simultaneously prefer the busty Faris underneath (and think that it's canon), because what is the point in binding AA cup tits? The allure/humor is in the contrast.
But I may be very biased by the fact that I think the freelancer sprites just look bad in general. The lack of the color balancing capes really hurt them. They also make Lenna seem to have an enormous nose and fivehead, which sometimes takes me out of the game, when I'm starting out.

Still, this is Galuf that we are talking about. Who knows how long its even been since Galuf saw a real rack in front of him. For all we know the last pair was his wife and those were probably a little worse for wear the last time he saw them.
