what's wrong with the Italian flag? The one with the Eagle on it was only used in the German puppet state 'The Italian Social Republic' after the kingdom of italy defected to the allies in 1943 I believe.
in hoi4 there's a really annoying sound that happens seemingly randomly, sometimes every 2-3 in game hours other times it doesn't happen for a few days. either way it's happening way too much and it's killing me

No, it isn't. None of the minor events - Brown's raid and the Sandford decision - are. They aren't very important outside of the US.
I know it kinda gave the player clues about when the war was about to start, but now you need to either read the news or deal with it as it pops up. The Civil War even is still a major event so you will know.
Kinda makes more sense as you won't be able to plan precisely when the war will start.

Probably extensively. It doesn't appear that the game has any hardcoded railroading so it's very unpredictable between each run. Only thing that stick out like a sore thumb is senseless German warmongering. They literally can't stop declaring wars.

As Madagascar, I took a treaty port from the Qing as my only colony and it got no colonial migration despite my pops wanting to move to colonies. I did the same, Italy had actually made it all the way into Paris, then Spain joined the Allies and pushed us back out. What really boggles my mind is that, we are obviously losing, but Japan ( aswell as Afghanistan and Turkey, but who cares about mudslimes) joined the Axis anyway, and it's not like they needed help, they were winning against China, they need to make some of the diplomacy in this a bit more logical.

This one Is mexico no Texas but it works the same. I want to ship Tank divisions along the Purple line (across the sea) to reinforce the landing in Eastern Mexico but the Tank divisions default to moving across land which would end up with them attacking the American Front line. Im sure im missing somethign Paradox couldnt have fucked up this bad

Italy is a tutorial nation so I think its pretty easy but for some reason people like to shy away from major powers. I like Spain because it gives you a nice early conflict and you can chose what you want to do, join Axis or Comintern.
Brazil and Argentina are nice if you want to try messing around in South America undisturbed.

For most of the war I had horrible manpower problems so I kept a small but efficient army (made france capitulate, naval invasion of UK Japan, Mexico, Brazil, creating huge russian encirclements, etc) while forcing my allies (italy for most the game) to plug the front line so I can do special ops

Trying to get HoI3 working on my computer.
I get a file not found error on startup. I deleted the map cashe which lets me play the game, but the next time I want to start I get the same error.

Just got into my first multiplayer LAN VIC II game with my partner and everything went well checksums etc.
I am Sweden and she is Norway and everything seemed fine. We decided to feign the war for independence and i just surrendered right away.
Only problem being whenever i sent a peace offer to her she never received it. When she sent a peace offer i DID however receive it.
We got independence this way so i went to ally her and we had the same problem. She wasnt receiving my alliance offer but she could send me one and it would appear.
The big problem is now Denmark decided they want Malmo and i cant call her into a war.
Is this Desync or a fault with unHMM or HPM? (Which i forgot to mention are installed.)

I'm currently thinking that the best way to deal with this is to put all of your infantry and motorized under a field marshall and then put your armor into individual general. Then you control them manually for encirclements while your infantry stays on AI control in order to mop up the pockets as you advance. Kind of gamey, but it sounds like a good balance to me.

I've been playingWitcher 3lately and it's gotten me in the mood for some medieval shenanigans. I'm seriously considering launching a CK2 AAR maybe towards the end of this month or early July.
Only two real things concern me: post volume and the years I'd have to play. Even assuming an Alexiad start, I'd still have to trudge through 360 years of gameplay, and while I've done that before, I haven't done that whilst simultaneously maintaining an AAR wherein I expect myself to make a detailed post every time a major event occurs. If I'm making posts for most major wars, betrothals, dynastic changes, serious rebellions, etc., I'm going to probably have an average of at least 15 posts to a ruler (probably a LOT more than that, honestly), and like-as-not close to 25-30 rulers depending upon where I play. That's some autism levels even I'm not sure I can manage.
So what I'm asking is whether or not there'd be an interest in such an AAR. If I'm getting enough (You)s to keep me encouraged I can probably trudge through even if it gets boring as fuck late-game, but if you anon don't want to see CK2 I'm not going to bother.
(For the record, were I to do CK2, I'd be putting up when I started/where I played/what religion I was, etc., to a series of votes here, so you'd have input on that. Also, I'd be playing with house rules (which I'd post before the AAR started) to limit my ability to outplay the AI and force me to behave in-game like my character's traits dictate)
