The amount of endurance you want is pretty weapon dependent to be honest. Anywhere between base and 20 is fine, with bigger weapons requiring more End. Judge for yourself: level it until you're comfortable with the amount of stamina you have.

Unless you're running a strength build, you really never need more than base endurance. More can be nice, depending on your choice of weapon, but endurance is a luxury stat more than anything. Some weapons like to have more, like the Burial Blade or the Beast Claw, but you'll never need any more than 20, and that's at the far end of the spectrum.

Gold with the effect around it are root chalices, silver with the effect is sinister root chalices. Root chalices can be made cursed or rotted or foetid or any combination of the three depending on the particular depth, whereas sinister can only be made sinister (spawning a chime maiden).
Searching a standard chalice allows you to recreate it for no cost, which is useful for early game Arc builds (to get two decent fire radials straight after BSB) and if there's a certain material you want to farm sometimes standards are better than roots for it (for example in Lower Loran Layer 1 there's a chest with two Ritual Blood (5)'s, and you can create it, rush to the chest, delete it, then create it again to respawn the RB5 at no cost).

BoM and Rakuyo would compliment the cane best. Burial Blade and Church Pick are fine weapons, but their best assets are the reach and crowd control capabilities which the cane already has, whereas BoM and Rakuyo thrive on getting in tight and shredding shit up, which you can do with the cane but nowhere near as well.

Nourishing depends on the weapon and what secondaries you want. Lost is the best for primary damage, since you can get up to 21.5% on Waning and Triangle over radials' 19.5% max, but if you're using something like HMLS, you might want +15 flat physical secondary, which doesn't appear on Waning.

So I've noticed hitting someone after they've been parries does additional damage even if you don't visceral them. Anyone know how much more damage you deal exactly? And if it's modified by skill or anything?
I'm trying to figure out if it's more effective to BMA+Cannon someone after they've been parried or if I should just visceral attack if I have 45 Skill.

I'm just wondering because my HMLS (Lost version) is feeling pretty weak atm. I just got it though honestly and I'm only BL45, with a few phys +9% gems and the 9% nourishing gem from under Iosefka's clinic. The untricked R2 stab is really the only attack with some "oomph" and the tricked version is what mostly feels shitty. I'm thinking it will fill out more with some decent gems and my goal stats. Anyone have wembs of the HMLS in action betwen 90-120 bl?

Go 50 Strength for a better physical HMS but poor beams, 50 Arc for the other way around. 25 strength with 50 Arc is what I run and it does decent damage on the physical side, the beams hit really hard too. If you don't have a problem with going higher, adding 25 skill is good for the physical damage and helps visceral damage. I don't have any webms to show at the moment though sorry
