Genji is 100% edgier than Reaper.
"Edgy" characters can never be outright saturday morning cartoon villains. Reaper is way too much Dr. Claw "I'll get you next time Gadget!" while getting his ass kicked consecutively by a fat gorilla. Genji on the other hand? Millionaire playboy who was in with the Yakuza and also a kick ass ninja on the side. He dies but then gets an amazing cyborg body that he uses to kill all the evil robots and beat up his mean gay older brother Hanzo.
But now his robot parts are making him all conflicted and angsty. Remember - the hallmark of an edgy character is that their overpowered abilities are this huge burden for them. They always overcome the burden anyway to show everyone how badass they are.
Even after Zenyatta slaps the edgehog out of Genji, he's still this ambiguous enigma that both the poster heroes (and probably villains) respect.
The katana puts Genji over the top for reasons that don't need to be explained.
TL;DR: Blizzard wanted to create an edgy faggot for weaboo's, and they succeeded.

I play Widow and don't even go for headshots, I just spam charged bodyshots because the damage is good enough. If I'm playing a flanker and I meet another flanker on a side route, I usually run away instead of fight to the death because I figure he'll just kill me. I intentionally fire at a Reinhardt's shield even if nobody else is doing it, just to pad my damage number because I like seeing a gold medal occasionally.

Sneak around the enemy team and jump around a lot to avoid them hearing your footsteps. Also jump to confuse most classes.

I'm not kidding, I'm an offense/supportbab. I never play tank classes in games because I can't stand the heat, but I like Reinhardt's design. 80 dps beam vs 46 damage per nade. x energy = x% extra damage, so at max energy you have 160 dps and 92 nade damage. HELP. How do I stop sucking so bad with Widow? She's supposed to be the best hero in the game. In pro games she's supposed to be able to kill half the enemy team within a few seconds of getting a window on them.
Part of the issue is I FEEL like I'm hitting a ton more shots than actually register. The bullets just seem to pass through the enemies. On killcam it even often looks like the shots are passing through them and making the whizzing near-miss sound.

Spies were never really a Sniper counter anyway. A good Sniper quickscopes and looks around during his reload animation, so there's virtually no time for a Spy to sneak up on a good Sniper. In addition to that, if you're wearing headphones it's really easy to hear the uncloak noise from quite far away.
The only way for a Spy to counter a good Sniper is to uncloak far enough away that the Sniper can't hear it, and headshot the sniper with the ambassador. This, of course, necessitates that the terrain grants you view of the Sniper's head while out of his field of view and out of his hearing range.
Basically Spies have always been worthless against any aware player, even Snipers.

I find the problem with most of them is that they never even think to heal. I'll often play tank with one, be on low health next to them, and they just straight up ignore me in favor of launching their balls at the enemy, even when I'm using the need healing call they just ignore it. Most of them who play never have any intention of healing.

I've gotten to where I can quad kill the mobile practice bots with headshots easily. Players are harder.
I've done the platform bit and managed to routinely get all the moving bots plus the stationary one down on its own and usually the moving one on the catwalk during the far swing of the platform.
None of it seems to help me land shots vs players. My accuracy in training is like 80% with most of those shots being headshots. On players, my shots just seem to pass through them much of the time.
I'm trying custom games bots right now. Best I can do right now is 1v6 Reaper bots. I can hold them off indefinitely or attack and push till the end against them. Again, my accuracy is like 80%, with 60-70% crits.
I'll tweak sensitivity some. It's currently set to 4@1600dpi or w/e, and scoped accuracy is 50% of normal accuracy for her.

I think her true strength comes from the defense matrix, timing it is important and can absorb insane amount of damage. Also , while diving with jets boost, your melee has a bonus knock back velocity. Her focus seems to steer into disruption of enemy position. Her ultimate, defense matrix and jet boots really encourage knock back and ability denial.

Tried a game with 400 dpi @ 10 sensitivity and did slightly better. Got PotG. My accuracy was ~5-10% higher than usual.
Feels way too slow, though. I have a 12" mouse pad and I can only do 180 degrees of a turn with 400 dpi @ 10 sensitivity.
Since I had ~40-50% accuracy on every other hero at 1600@4sens, I think I'll just drop Widow's scoped sens to like 1.

Your bias is as strong towards widow as mine is towards D.Va, but this really isn't true. D.Va has an easy enough time tackling widow as long as she doesn't engage head on over a long distance. You can regail me all day with greentexts about how you saw a dva coming at you and 360 quickscoped her, but in reality as soon as she's knocked into you, you're already panicking and being shredded by her cannons. D.Va is really not as weak as people make her out to be, those who don't play her well wouldn't be doing any better as winston. People massively overstate winston's power, mainly because his damage is consistent, DVa's fusion cannons are brutal close range but have a pretty hefty falloff, saying she's weak because of that is like calling reaper weak for the same reason.
