So guys, Ive started a sorcery character and I was wondering at how much dex should I drop the sage ring to free up a ring slot? right now I have sage ring+2 and 17 base dex. what helped me immensely on the pontiff is to never roll backwards. roll to the side, or maybe forward(not sure about forward). he will majorly punish backwards rolling. after i started to roll to the side, the fight became 10 times easier.
as for the dancer, well for some reason i never really had trouble with her. she seems to have so many openings, i just wail on her whenever shes not attack then run away

If you want bleedy fun: Reinforced Club or Spiked Club (latter weapon needs Rouge to proc bleed promptly before you run out of stamina but it's strong in its own right).
If you want smashy fun: Greataxe, Large/Giant Club or Great Machete.
If you want slashy fun: pretty much any GS with good scaling when Heavy.
You'll get better miracles in end game though, so you can still faith out. If you respec, get 40 STR for your weapon and then pump FAI when you get access to cooler miracles. You may not even need to pump FAI if you just want blessed weapon or miracles that don't scale like Tears.

Outside of the buffs, it's not OP but very balanced. Lightning spears hit hard but have a long cast time. After quality, faith is my favourite build in DaS1. Go full faith (60) with base stats for your weapon. Remember to make a backup lightning weapon for the enemies that have high magic resist as your divine weapons do magic damage.

Great clubs heavy infusion is better than its quality. That build is 66 STR so when I two hand it I get 99 STR bonus. Every other weapon suffers 10-30 damage though, only a build I use for fun.

It needs to be something that people can actually make a unique and interesting build for, within a set of restrictions. Cosplay, gladiators, knights, etc. all have that.
I get that some of the more obscure event ideas could be fun, but I don't think they're worth holding an event over. Maybe you could just do some fight clubs with those ideas, like with the hellevator stuff that's been going on.

No. Gladiator is supposed to be a free-for-all, no healing, quick dying and lightly armored Event. If you think it's similar, you're not getting how Gladiator is supposed to work.
Additionally, one of the main differences here is that you're presenting a theme that can be MUCH more easily built around in terms of fashion. One of the biggest problems the gladiator event is facing is people complaining that there simply aren't a whole lot of options for actually looking like a Gladiator.

Protip 1: Smough is weak to lightning. Do you know a blacksmith that you recently met who can create lightning weapons?
Protip 2: Ornstein is weak to fire, and in his giant form he loses the ability to path around the pillars. Like other giant bosses, he is also incapable of accurately hitting things that run between his legs to get behind him, especially with a spear.
Protip 2.5: As long as you can roll dodge, you can evade all of Ornstein's lightning attacks really easily, allowing you to cheese his physical attacks with a 100% physical block shield. His grab attack is also really easily telegraphed and can be stopped either by rolling or with a shield; just keep in mind that he takes a small hop backwards once he finishes charging before he spears.
Protip 3: Assuming you have Pyromancy, take advantage of the fact that Solaire is still alive at the start of the second phase to use him as a distraction so that you can throw as many fireballs at them while you still can.

And Muscle Wizard would be what? Rolling through your opponent casting and punching them? It would almost never be optimal to be the one casting in a Muscle Wizard event. You would always benefit from being more Muscle than Wizard.

You still are. You are directly engaging with another player with the intention to kill them. You are not doing anything ridiculous like searching for armor or weapons, chameleon hide and seek, or protecting a host. It is straightforward and simple, even if the means of killing your opponent is slightly different from usual.

Because it became so popular in Gladiator 1 that Gladiator 2 was almost 100% FFA. It became the focus of the event.

Gladiator 1 took place during the Quadbuffing Haveltank Meta. The point of being nearly naked without healing was so that people would actually die, compared to the PvP Meta of the time being hitting for 24 damage at a time, and fighters would be rotated out frequently. It very much fundamentally was about dying quickly. Low levels didn't make for longer fights because players weren't putting as many points into their HP. Taken in comparison to the Knight Event, players were much, much quicker to die.
You're failing to look at the events in their proper context if you didn't realize that.

dex/caster is actually nice because dex boosts casting speed for some fucked reason. Faith is the worst though, all the body buffs that it gives you are reduced in effectiveness in pvp, plus lightning spear sucks and WotG is super slow now. You'd be better off going INT with CSS and Soul Greatsword
