Why do people use sunlight talisman or canvas when saints gives a decent spell buff with the same weapon art?

I'd say that, frankly, with those stats it wouldn't be worth it. Consider that, with the VIG you're removing for the dex required to make that weapon even remotely useful, you have to take both 1 to 4 people attacking you and damage from your own weapon
Even in a 1v1 fair duel, you're getting similar damage for less health and self damage, with the only difference being a slightly faster moveset and a running R1 for chasing. And people are more used to facing katanas than axes even now, especially at low levels, so your risk of being parried is significantly higher
Frankly, it could be worth grabbing, say, a halberd or something for poking and chasing, they're surprisingly hard to fight

My advice would be to make another character if you're attached to this one and don't want to risk the wasted reallocation, and use that new character to try out the weapons you're interested in

The boss fights were so varied and distinct. Sure, there were a couple "big dudes with armor", but Ornstien/Smaug, Artorius, Gwyndolin, Gwyn, and Iron Golem were VERY different fights.

I got hyped for Aldrich because he vaguely resembled a giant, landbased octopus the first time I saw himI only watched it once, don't bullyand was disappointed once I worked out he was just a slime. That said I still like the Aldrich fight because it's different. His melee attacks are so weird too, I love it.

You've got heals for both you and your party, a cheap debuff remover perfect for getting through farron keep without invaders following the numbers on their screen, a quick knockback spell, and a fair few other useful support abilities, which is more or less wha tI'd expect a cleric to do, support with their miracles and damage with their weapons

In regards to usefulness in close range, Black Bow of Pharis is surprisingly handy with the weapon art, since it fires three arrows at a time in what FPS players would call a "duckbill", increasing your likelyhood to hit and, if two or even 3 of the arrows hit, increasing the damage you do. The rapid-fire weapon art in my personal opinion is only really useful for very poor roll spammer, distracted opponents or people fat rolling or rushing you

At least Bloodborne had Gascoigne as a genuine casual filter right from the bat. Dark Souls 2 had bosses like Ruin Sentinels and Lost Sinner as casual filters. Dark Souls 1 had Capra Demon. Demon's Souls had Flamelurker.

Not even close. Literally they deal magic damage, have special spawning rules, and aren't even jointed. They are more like hivemind ghost things that happen to look vaguely humanoid.
Regardless tho - all DS3 is humanoid creatures being rehashed over and over. The hell is stuff like Hydra; Centipede Demon; Moonlight Butterfly; Sif; etc. etc. etc.

What the flipper flappin fuck? I'm in love. Honestly I rarely even get the WA off still (although when I do it's pretty much GG and it's great against parry kings), but people are so scared of it that the regular R1 becomes amazing. I mean it's 420 AR at +10 refined so you still don't want to get hit by two R1's from this thing, even if it's not flashy, plus the slight delay of the attack makes it hard to parry for caestus users.
Something to consider trying out anonbros, if you want to try something different, have some fun, and also be surprisingly powerful. Just remember most of the time you're going to be hitting with regular R1's, you have to learn when to use your different attacks and WA at the right times, and how to block effectively without getting guard broken. Also I have 37 endurance, using prisoner's chain to get up to 42. A full BKG spin combo only takes out about half of my stamina, then I hit them with 1-2 R1's, it's great. If they pull out a parry item feel free to spam WA's on them.

So I have a serious issue that's probably just my autism, but I could use some advice.
I want to make se builds for my Ps4, with Pure STR, Pure DEX, Quality, Pure FTH, Pure INT and Hexer/Pyromancer, but I have an issue with making the ones that use spells.
Should I go for 60 INT and 60 FTH on my Pure builds for SL120, or should I aim them even higher? And does the Hexer/Pyromancer need to be 40/40 or 50/50 to actually do anything? I'm a little confused with the scalings.
Also, if I go and get +2 Rings from NG+2, will the upgrades scale similarly to weapon upgrades with PvP, meaning I can get the +2 rings and still play with people who use Basic or +1 rings?
Lastly, I did want to make a special build based on Holy spells and weapons, called "Holy Blade Uriel", who would use the Lothric's Holy Sword, Divine Pillars of Light and Wrath of the Gods as weaponry. The question is would it be completely stupid to make it as either the blade wouldn't scale with faith or the spells would require too much faith to make the sword do any reasonable damage? TL;DR I'm having issues with balancing my weapon of choice with my spells.

Welp, SUPER disappointed in the final bosses of the Dark Souls 2 DLC. Fume knight was a cool fight and I enjoyed it, probably the only satisfying one out of all of them, but nevertheless he fell pretty quickly due to his slow (even if aggressive) moveset. The Ivory King I beat on my first try, he was too similar to fume despite his cool entrance. Sinh killed me a couple times but the second I learned to run under him instead of away I beat him first try. Honestly, my favourite DLC fight was easily Elana. Fighting Vestadlt while dodging magic was engaging and challenging. Aava was tough and engaging too. Overall, I only 3 out of the 9 dlc bosses were really satisfying challenges. The other 6 are either artificial difficulty (gank squad, dual aavas) or were downed too quick to be engaging (ivory king, sinh).
I can see why the DaS2 is put on the pedestal it is but I have to disagree. It's just alright, the bosses are cool but not game-changing.

If people in PVP are that stupid then I feel better about toting around the loadout I do.

Just note that it's not some R1 spam autopilot build or something, it may take some time to get used to especially if you're not used to using a shield for blocking. You'll be blocking shit and then R1'ing them once or twice most of the time, maybe doing some running R1's etc, mixing things up. Just remember that your weapon art is unparriable (at least as long as you have FP, not sure if this changes if you run out so be careful) so use it effectively if they pull out the caestus. Also remember to incorporate rolls with your blocking to save on stamina, if you can roll around 1-2 hits and then block the 3-4th hits you can do amazing things. Stamina management is key. Definitely get around 40 endurance.
Honestly the 1HR1 speed isn't even that bad, and the slight delay usually fucks over caestus users.

But you're entirely missing the point which is that drang hammers hit like a truck, you don't need to parry (besides the parry dagger parrying of the farron is pretty shit-tier).
The main downside to the drang hammers is the short reach, making it difficult to get close to people (especially those using long weapons). The BKS compensates beautifully for this problem by allowing you to block some hits and get close.
I mean the weapon art is insane but even just 1-2 R1 hits at 420 AR +10 refined is nothing to laugh at. You do NOT want to get hit by the drangs, and the high stability shield (69 at +5) along with rolling is what allows you to get close enough to do that.

Yeah, I mean a lot of times if for example people just attacked twice instead of 3+ times with a dark sword they wouldn't get parried so often, for example. The difference in skill is hugely important.
If people don't manage their stamina effectively, don't have a high endurance stat, don't know when to drop their guard to regain stamina and how to use rolls to conserve stamina when using a shield, all while watching out for longsword stances or kicks, they DESERVE to get guardbroken.
I use a BK Shield and this never happens to me, but it's because I know what I'm doing. The difference between someone using a really good weapon or build to it's maximum potential vs. a newbie using it is a lot larger than people give it credit for. Medium shields are a great example of that because you won't guardbreak a good BK shield user.
Similar to bad turtles who do the greatshield estoc thing but you can still get hits on them or even break their guard. A good player (Querns is a good example of a streamer that uses the turtle build sometimes) will never even get close to getting guardbroken, will have blood moss to avoid bleed, know when to roll and when to attack and not get hit, etc. Huge fucking difference depending on skill of the player.

The AGS bug isn't just damage types being swapped. It uses the damage and attack type of a different attack in its moveset, which results in it being one of only two rolling attacks in the game which completely break the universal rule of always dealing less damage than an equivalent standing R1.

I didn't realize it until I tried other paired weapons and realize that they all still follow it, and their L1 rolling attacks still do significantly less damage than standing attacks. Only Gotthard's matches its standing L1s damage with its rolling L1.

I mean if you think about it, they had to have a meeting about that shit. Someone had to present that idea to a committee of board members and get it approved. Someone had to code it, someone had to make the art and the sound design for when it's thrown. They had to figure out the mechanics of how big the poopsplosion would be, how much toxic damage would be balanced, etc.
This was not a simple feat. A lot of thought must have gone into putting throwable poop in the game. Someone high-up had to say "you know what this game needs? Throwable poop. No, we can't finish this game unless we have throwable poop, we NEED that in this game!" And then they needed a group of adults to hear this and go "yeah you're right, this game DOES absolutely need throwable poop! We can't release the game until it is created and tested!"
