I have a SL25 +2 regular weapon and get constant invasions at undead settlement but you could probably do road of sacrifices too. Haven't tried it myself but it's the next area right over so people aren't gonna level up alot from settlement to there.
For extra douchiness upgrade your flask count and reinforcement since those don't affect matchmaking.

And unless the DLC areas somehow meshes perfectly with the existing areas, PVE will continue to be a straight, boring line.

That's part of the issue, but not the main one I feel. Not being able to access Grand Archives for all the great shit in there until the game is almost over, Elemental weapons being 99% garbage compared to physical, how long it takes to make non-pure physical builds worth it, how 40/40 Refined is just objectively better then everything while being pathetically easy to obtain on most main PvP builds with no sacrifices, and certain weapons just being objectively better then everything else in their weapon class (Carthus Curved Sword is the best curved sword, Witch's Locks invalidate every other whip, etc) just make me disinclined to play anything other then my quality build.

The thing that I'm wondering with Dark Souls 3 poise is even if it was 'turned on' what were the exact breakpoints for things in PvE and PvP? With how poise numbers on even heavier armors being drastically decreased compared to 1 and 2 would implementing it fully actually make things more noticeably different for players or not? I haven't seen any videos of people who turned it on or any documented results on this so I'm unsure, but it's making me curious because it's a part of the whole poise debate I don't see considered often.

It's funny, because DaS1 style poise would have been balanced this time because they have the vit split, and poise even has diminishing returns in DaS3. The same piece of armor will give you more or less poise depend on how much you already have.

When I made my twink I went through the whole game without upgrading flasks since I wasn't sure if it affected it. Decided to use all the shards to see what happened and I got matched fine otherwise I probably woulda made it a SL80 build. Plus you could always get a friend to drop the stuff for you.

Right now the weapon balance is terribly wonky. I keep thinking of a new cool look I want to go with and then realize it won't work because my strategy will be really underpowered or the weapons are outright not working as intended. For example, shotels/harpe don't bypass shields even though the fucking descriptions say they do (Serpent Hatchet nonwithstanding).
