The most accessible part to get orange is usually his neck area, since it counts as part of the torso rather than head or chest, which are both red. I tend to grab orange when he trips, because it can be a massive pain otherwise.

I've got shit all for charms, but it turns out I can plug in any 5 slot skill and get evasion+2, or I can have 9 open slots, 2 from weapon, 3 from tali, and 2 from Helm, and 2 single slots from other pieces. (keeping rec level down from existing, with a gem)

By the way, to double check that I just tried out bow for a minute and if the guy asking how to mouse-aim a bow the other day happens to be around, press e to freeaim. This also shows you your critical distance (sort of), you want to try to space yourself so your arrows hit the monster close to the beginning of the red part of the line for maximum damage.

Tremor res is only a five slot skill, should be easy to get on most sets and just gem in for monsters like jho and jang. But anyway, sns has a really handy tool for learning evasion timing- The shield. You can block tremors, and the moment the block stagger begins is right after when you should dodge.

Mastery of the GS involves excellent positioning + timing. These are also the prerequisites of most other weapons, but without the benefits of huge damage output and ease of maneuvering.
The risk/reward for the GS makes even mediocre players contribute a lot more than they would with any other weapon.

I used to believe this because it made sense that for optimal damage you'd have to know the unique timing on any given monster you were fighting to exploit charge 3s, but once I actually tried it out myself I realised that isn't true at all. Almost every monster is designed to get headsniped by focus GS, you literally just stand somewhere and start charging and they put their head in your way. It's the weapon I use on expeditions because it's completely braindead, I literally don't have to look at the screen half the time.

That's basically the strategy of GS boiled down to as simple as it can be made.
Learn how to reach weak points, and when you can charge.
For example, after a HR Tigrex finishes its chain dashes, if you stand right at the tail and start charging the moment they stop, they'll turn around just in time to catch a level 3 charge to the nose.

If you memorize the monster's move set and weak points you can exploit their attacks to insert damage quickly and weave back out to safety until another opening reveals itself.
It's all pretty intuitive and fun once you understand how positioning and timing works for each monster.

LS is the second easiest weapon imo, but beyond CB and gunner weaps being the most technical and GS being by far the easiest I think weapon ease of use is more of a subjective thing.
What are the best skills sets/armors and weapons for Hunting Horn? Pastebin is being shit on my phone.

This is a bad idea, and if you try it you'll quickly realise how fucking tedious doing all the (mostly gathering-related) tutorial shit just to unlock the same content you already have access to is. If you want to simulate a new game gearing down and doing the keys again is the best course of action.
I find the best way to learn a new weapon to be gearing down to high rank and joining high rank lobbies with it, personally.
Good armour skills for HH are razor sharp/sharpness+1 (depending on the horn, even more important than on other weapons since you want to sheathe as little as possible ideally), horn maestro (obviously, it extends the duration of your buffs), evasion skills (especially e+) can be nice if you can't git gud at dodging, other than that just the usual tremor/wind/hearing res and attack stacking.
