Well, it has only slightly more damage than the 9mm (which is only really useful when bodyshotting instead of aiming properly, or against Bloats) and in return it has some large downsides compared to the 9mm:

I mean since GS gets a damage bonus with the 9mm as well it's not a downright BAD weapon since it's usable, and you can always use the 9mm if you prefer it, but at best it's an extra ammo pool that isn't very satisfying to use, at worst it's just a downgrade from a weapon every perk has.

Better in only damage. Inefficient damage, at a cost.

9mm/medsmg are interesting for having especially low base damage, 15, too little to decap trash without benefits.
AR15/Medpistol/RegularShotguns/SA80 are interesting for their 20/25 base damage per projectile, optimal to decap trash, without overkill. With benefits, 1shot crawlers without overkill.
AK12 is interesting at 35 base damage, you can get perk benefits letting it 2shot clots/cysts/slashers extremely efficiently, making trash body shots in general satisfying.
SCAR/1911's 50 base damage 2shots clots/cysts/slashers with flawless efficiency without benefits, and with benefits, they'll 1shot bloat heads and 3shot husk/siren heads very efficiently. In the upcoming commando rework, SCAR with benefits will 1shot stalkers, too.

But 1858s are at 30 base damage. The other attributes of the gun had to be compromised in order to deliver this extra damage beyond the 18 it takes to make a projectile 1shot trash heads. The compromising of those other attributes, making them an average bore, made 1858s unsatisfying for trash heads. AR15 leaves 1858s in the dust at shooting trash heads and crawlers, 1shotting with way better capacity and reloads.
And yet this extra damage was not enough to make the 1858s satisfying for generally shooting trash bodies. A cyst without headshots takes half a gun's load!

This is just my opinion, but I think the 1858s are at least better than the AR-15 because the iron sights on the AR-15 are just that fucking garbage.

AR15 is better on this account, for me.
Misses are less costly with the ar15 due to mag capacity and ammo costs.
But misses actually do have some value.
Tracers.
Watch that bullet fly, and be reminded of where the exact center of the screen is. Adjust for future shots. They call this "walking" your fire.

The 1858s inspire no confidence in me, any misses against sprinting enemies feel like a problem, a problem that will probably escalate into a bad reload or getting hit. So I panic, so it does escalate, so I'm distracted, and I forget the reminder of where the center of the screen is.
The AR15, on the other hand, puts me at ease with a forgiving future; it'll either still be loaded with this big mag even after a few more mistakes, or I can slap another in pretty quick.
So if I miss, no biggie, I walk it in without worry, and I'm usually back in the groove before there's any problem.

A good method I think would be is you get them like every 4 days, but how good you do determines the chance of a nice little drop. Makes you want to earn that chance through your skills than relying on buying a key.
Think of it like this:
>practically carry the team and get more than 2 places on the scoreboard tier: decent chance but not guaranteed you can get a mint skin or a pretty valuable cosmetc like motorcycle helmet, can still get something worthwhile
>do well but gain a second or third status: still get a worthwhile prize, something like eyepatches, field tested toys, etc.
>just sort of there: low tier battle scarred, basic headbands like we have now, cheap stuff
>last place: fuck you, you get a usb/crate now go buy to benefit from your 'reward'
Of course it could use tweaking and other factors are applied like playing solo, if you're medic and only top in healing, firebugs likely to get the goods, etc. but I think it'd just actually reward you better for how well you contributed to the squad and shit.

Black Forest's openness really helps with escape routes. I'm not familiar with any routes and I relied mostly on "Okay enemies aren't coming from that way, FUCKING GO." I got corner fucked by fleshpounders twice and I thought it was over.

Gunslinger is really fun to solo HoE with Rack'em Up. Bad spawn can fuck you up fast but still pretty easy when played safe.

If you want easy baby mode, go medic or zerker. But gunslinger is still easy (just not baby) mode. Black Forest is bad for Gunslinger because of all the elevation (I hope I used a right word), you want to have a flat floor for easy headshots, if you want open space Farm will be better than Black Forest.

Pretty standard advice will be to try to keep the horde behind you, avoid death spots (places when you can get easily blocked and fucked), look where you're running 80% of time, turn around to take out annoying zeds and have target priority, kill sirens and husks as soon as you can.

You can heal yourself for 50hp, it's easier to solo HoE than to do it with shitty team.

If you honestly think we missed out on the original Zerk, you're crazy.
Zerk is in a good spot right now and changing him won't fix the AI targeting problem for zerkwalls.
Demo and Support are the only perks that really NEED re-works just because of how lame and one-sided their skills are that they're basically mandatory and should be passives.
Yet TWI are doing Demo, Commando, and Berserker.
Not that I don't like change but they're re-working them like they've never played above Hard.

On release everyone complained it was weak and its skills were useless. But hey, we didn't have knockback or shit parrying back then.

As if it wouldn't be bad enough that zerk will be utter shit after the next update, it will also have basically no fucking role.
Firebug will still clear trash like no tomorrow.
Demo will actually be able to take out FPs and deal with groups of zeds.
SS will murder Scrakes and probably FPs too.
Commando will clear trash worse than Firebug but will have the range advantage.
Zerk will just be a "trash clearer" that does the job worse than Commando (let alone Firebug) with no range, only HP or only damage, and maybe mobility, while also having to suffer the hardest from knockback and making zerkwalling literally the only way to realistically survive.

I thought when they made Demo as shit as it was there was no way they could top it. Boy was I wrong.

I sincerely doubt TW will change their mind. They have been raping zerk since before the game even came out.
First it came out shit.
Then they "fixed" it and made parrying shit.
Then they nerfed the "fixed" zerk.
Then they added knockback to "stop zerkwalling" which only made it worse for everyone (including non-zerks) who AREN'T zerkwalling.
Then they lower the pulverizer's ammo count because god forbid if 2 perks could actually hurt Fleshpounds.
Then they come up with this final shit cocktail that will make zerk unplayable.

And even if they do revert the last 8 months worth of changes they will still try different ways to "fix" zerk.
I'd rather have a zerk that's outright broken than one that's fucking worthless. If you make a melee class that ISN'T broken it'll be shit because of the inherent downsides to being a melee perk.

They're very much capable of working on weapons in their free time like the M32 and Husk Launcher.
It shouldn't take very long for them to polish them and call them official.

Trying to balance classes as they are now without all the perks just makes it worse for everyone.
Spliting Berserker's playstyle between being a glass canon or a slow tank sounds like something they rushed out.
As if the VLAD and Evis weren't irrelevant enough, this new skill tree doesn't even make them viable options.
At least the VLAD has (25% + 1% each level) perk weapon damage and both VLAD and Evis can get easy stuns with Menace.
But now you have to use the "Butcher" skill and you only get 25% damage.
MA should be the fragile, higher damage perk they're trying to push onto Zerk.

TWI have already finished SS, they're just fucking with us until their E3 conference when they show off their PS4 version and tell us the game is done.

Pretty much. TW having a talent for making something that looks like X on paper turn out to be like Y in practice, in ways both good and bad.

Honestly, when I look at Berserker, the only game-changer for me personally is having to choose between lots of health OR move speed. I've honestly grown very accustomed to both, I'm not afraid to admit that running around with 100HP again is going to take some getting used to.

That said, apart from that, most of the nerfs seem pretty nominal to me.
25% DR is now 20%? Well that decrease isn't good news to me, but considering that I once had to put up with just 5% DR, I'm willing to settle.

If the zed doesn't have enough health to reach the theoretical 200 damage threshould to get +4HP and you end up killing it, it'll give it to you anyways since crawlers have 55hp, stalkers at 75, clots at 100, etc.

You're right that the fixed 4 health is absurd.

That's crap. It's no compensation for attacking greater foes.

However, it would make no sense to apply it per hit either. Otherwise you could just stand in front with an Evis and never lose a damn fraction of your health. That too would be ridiculous.

Instead, TW should consider assigning set values based on the kill target.
Perhaps a Crawler kill gets you 4 HP, while a Gorefast gets you 6HP, a Scrake 12 HP and a Fleshpound 20HP and so on.
Now obviously, those values I just put up aren't what I think would be fitting, they're just examples to explain a point: more HP returned for taking on a bigger risk and engaging a more dangerous target.


On a side note, I'd like to point out that first guy.

Don't get me wrong, some nerfs are just plain unfair, and while I don't believe the Pulv nerf RUINED Berserker, even I thought that 20 max shells at $85 each was a little savage.

That said, when a nerf strikes you can do one of two things.
You can be a loser and just give up. Because it's too hard. Because you can't do it. Because it's impossible.
Or, you can be a winner and press on. Continue to play well despite the nerf, at the very least, to play as well as you can. Muster what you can in the situation and strive for what success you can earn.

Maybe the nerf is just temporary, to be undone in a future update. Maybe the nerf is permanent, to remain forever whether you like it or not.
Either way, until the nerf settles to one of those two conclusions, you can think like a winner or you can think like a loser.

Without headshots, even if you land every single pellet on a gorefast with the SG500 at point blank, he doesn't die, and he doesn't have any reaction whatsoever, and he's fast and close, so he gets some hits in before you can pump for another shot.

With the gorefast shotgun weakness they're adding, he'll die if you land all/enough pellets, and if you miss enough pellets that he survives, the accumulative incap system that they're adding should stumble him, giving you time to pump and shoot again before he can attack

It's a shame there's no mention of knockdown for shotguns. If I get 18+ pellets at once from a double barrel blast into a scrake's head, I want him to do a backflip.

Well, what DO you have?
Many loadouts should have a medpistol, though.
If you need distance from a scrake, shoot him in the leg with a medgun to legstumble him. His legstumble lasts 1.5 seconds and you can do it to him every 3s, so he's tripping half the time, easy to outrun. Using any other half decent weapons along with this, anyone can kite him around a familiar map without getting hit very easily if there are no other zeds on you.

FPs WILL hit you if you're not equipped for them. Work with that, hurt them as much as possible with them hurting you as least possible. The way to do that is managing their rage.
FPs should never be raged if you don't have a plan. A very simple plan is to get your guns and healthbar loaded up, get some distance, and dump on him, doing as much damage as you can while he does his rage animation and runs at you, until he hits you.
To get hit only once instead of by a whole combo of attacks, either interrupt him with a reaction such as bashing to stumble him, or jump, to help the knockback of one hit send you out of reach of the rest of the combo.
When he hits you, or a teammate, he stops raging, and it's a very inopportune time for him to rage again, so STOP dealing damage to him. The the player that was hit and is still the FP's target is hurt, your guns are empty, and you don't have distance. Fix as much of that as possible before raging him again.
Don't dawdle too much, though, or he'll surprise you with an autorage, and you lose the opportunity to dump damage on him for the entire time he's raging.

You've got 2 options, they're both not easy to pull off unless you got good aim and a lot of practice

First way is landing 10 deagle headshots, watch out for both of its rage animations, once if finishes raging let it hit you once and bash, if you time it correctly it won't hit you again. That will de-rage it, get a little bit of space and now empty your dual .500s into its head and it should be dead

Second method is similar, except when it rages you switch to your .500 and shoot it in the leg to knock it down, then empty the rest of your shots into its head before it gets up

It probably won't matter for long since the game will be getting a massive meta update in the near future (maybe, but this is Tripwire we're talking about, so who knows for sure) but at the moment it's as follows:

The Crossbow is pretty game breaking, it can stun Fleshpounds and deals massive damage to them despite being an off-perk weapon for all perks currently. It can even stunlock a Scrake thus making it an easy kill without it even being able to retaliate.
Gunslinger is still a staple but in my experience the Crossbow makes the S&W 500's redundant because of its stun plus damage.
Firebug is still broken and clears trash like no tomorrow. Shrapnel in particular murders groups of zeds and the increased ammo count makes spamming even easier.
Medic is still important and with the addition of knockback it's effectively required for HoE.
Zerk is a lot weaker than before because of knockback and ammo nerfs (it went from 35 pulverizer rounds to only 20) but it can still hold on its own. Generally though because of the direct and indirect nerfs it's gotten, you're better off with a more specialized perk.
Commando and Support are a bit better thanks to ammo buffs and don't really drag the team down. Commando is the better of the two I'd say.
Demolitions is at the moment completely redundant thanks to the Crossbow which murders Fleshpounds and stuns them, something that Demolitions (or Medic in zed time if you wanna get picky) was the only one that could do it until then.

Basically the general pub meta is this:
1/2 zerks at most, at least one of which is on zerkwall duty.
One Firebug that murders trash and throws money at people (I forgot to mention the huge money buff) when he gets the MWG.
One Medic that heals people and preferably buys a Crossbow to stund big zeds with.
The rest of the team can pick whatever perks they want as long as they don't get more than 1 Demo as it can barely carry its own weight and 2 of them downright gimp the team.

Have you never heard of the term, or are you calling me and/or others a scrub for doing so?
In case of the former:
Take a zerk, put it near a corridor where zeds will funnel through, and have him block them and attack. They're very easy to kill and sometimes they won't even attack because they're targeting a player behind the zerk instead.
In case of the latter:
Knockback is so fucking cheap and HoE teleportation is so fucking cheap that I don't blame anyone who zerkwalls. If the game played fair and didn't try literally every cheap trick in the book I'd feel ashamed about it, but as it is now zerks will absolutely struggle to survive outside of zerkwalls and get needlessly punished when NOT zerkwalling because of knockback.

I don't know how Tripwire thought you could stop zerkwalling by giving ALL players knockback. Even more so when zerks that DON'T zerkwall are the ones actually being punished while the zerkwallers feel little to no knockback since they're probably crouching and can just get back in there.

What, you mean currently, or as I predict they will go in the future?
In the future, I have no idea. The incap system is being changed and when SS is actually in the game it will change things radically.
Currently? I do see a handful of games where nobody buys Crossbows, and while they are a bit more difficult it's still manageable.
Like you said, it's Crossbow cheese. It's not *required* to win HoE.

It is, but the only one I've seen doing that is myself. Usually for Scrakes people just start shooting the shit out of it or a zerk will try to take the aggro so nobody else gets hurt. Sometimes a Demo uses RPG direct hits and everyone starts attacking it afterwards, but that's rare.
For Fleshpounds it's more or less the same. If nobody has a Crossbow, a Demo or zerk initiates rage on it and everyone shoots it to death.

If you're killing it alone from full HP it takes 10.
You can still knock them down and pulverize them, but you can only solokill them from full HP twice before you run out of ammo.
Yes, ammo boxes and Supplier exist, but even if you get 1 of each of them you only have enough for 1 more FP, and that's without using ANY other pulverizer rounds on sirens or random zeds.

I'm almost 100% certain everything they did right in KF1 was done right purely out of accident. Either that or almost nobody that worked on KF1 worked on KF2.
I said it some time ago but KF2 evokes an uncanny valley sort of feeling. The zeds are there, dosh is there, characters and fun gunplay are there, but it's just not really Killing Floor. KF2 feels like it was developed by a different company altogether that saw some things people liked in KF1 but didn't know WHY they liked them or what made those things good.

The first one is for making a skin in general, which is pretty much required knowledge.
The second one is more detailed information on what texture settings in the SDK do.
The third one is for making a Medic weapon skin specifically. If you don't plan on ever making one you can just ignore it.
The last one is a link to Tripwire's wiki page which contains information on all kinds of things. Very useful especially if you're an SDK novice.

What you want are _D maps. Also, save as .tga, otherwise the SDK will not recognize it as a texture file.

That's where you lost me. Still, introducing MT at EA points to two possibilities, and both are worse than the other.
1. You have no friggin' idea about what you are doing and aimless. Had no chance to do content but since you're so cocky at your job you had MT plans when everything settled. When fans are already raging about updates and you had nothing you threw them MT update in EA then ran away.
2. Alternatively, they spent so much money on irrelevant bullshit (including a vacation on a cruise ship and FLeX technology) so much that they realized their goal does not match their expenses.

The extra 5% the new Hollow point perk has will probably save a bullet or 2 in the new update.
Really wish the AR15 had auto fire instead of a shitty burst fire.
TWI are always talking about "different playstyles" so if they brought back the Bullpup's old 405 ammo count, it would encourage people to pick it up for it's high ammo capacity, overall cheapness, and low recoil over the AK12's higher damage/recoil and costing double the price.
Money usually isn't an issue and the Hollow point perk also has 50% less recoil so it would make the AK12 especially in burst fire.

Funny, tested it now, and it seems when using Rapid Fire there is falloff damage.

Headshot outside zedtime does 40 damage
Headshot in zedtime near a Bloat does 40 damage
Headshot in zedtime in some distance does 35 damage

The damage when using Professional instead Rapid Fire doesn't change with distance, so Rapid Fire decreases your damage when you're few meters away from the target.

It's an OK spot but only if everyone is committed to holding their ground. If your team are the kind who prefer to shuffle backward and leave it to someone else when things get hard, then don't waste your time.
It is an enclosed underground area where the only ways out are zed filled corridors. If the team routs and loses their ground, they probably wipe.

You need to remember that KF1 came pretty much straight out of the KF mod. Most of the gameplay and dynamics had already been done for them, all they really did was take a solid mod and polish it a little into a game.

You can easily tell by the state of KF2 that they were not responsible for what was best about KF1. They just inherited it.

I'm going to presume you're talking about music added to the map. Any custom effects regardless of what they are are sound nodes placed in 3D space. This means that they are seen as game volume. Basically: Shotguns have the 4m falloff in damage, but its applied to a big zeds head, standard scrakes and fleshpounds so you do 50% less damage. BUT, they take full damage if you shoot them in the body, falloff isn't applied there.
On stuff like trash its not applied though, still headshotting them from 6m away does full work.

Same for trash zeds
Same for M4 (same DMG btw)
Same for Boomstick (same DMG as well)

Grab yourself a scrake, use the no spread command and shoot one point blank to the face and another one from +5m range and you'll notice you need more shots to decap.
With the natural spread this may not be an issue at long ranges since you'd do fuck all dmg anyway, but 5-6m ingame is still a decently close distance to nail almost all your pellets to a zeds head, gimping your damage noticably.
The recent ammo pool increase makes the "wasted" dmg hurt less in your overall efficiency, it is still a stupid mechanic that shouldn't be in the first place.

Editing was grossly overused to the point of being cringe worthy. Your jokes were forced and fell flat. To top it off that is kind of a stupid subject to make a video on plus your opinions were shit.

Your humour was appreciated, but every joke overstayed its welcome. Everything not related to the actual video's content needed to be less than half as long as it was. There were a few too many anime reaction images for my tastes.

I disagreed with nearly every opinion you presented in the video. The actual quality of editing was superb though, it shows that you've got experience. The intro segments for each perk without any voiceover needed to be shorter, it felt like a waste of time since you're watching the same sort of thing while you talk about each perk.

I think you'll do a better job next time.

It seems the humor is the biggest factor that needs improvement, but I will say this to defend myself: the topic for the video is fucking stupid. I honestly was just trying to do something I haven't seen done before, but clearly I could have choose a better topic. Like I said above (and in the comment section), the topic is irrelevant and I feel that now, after a goods night sleep, had I chosen a better topic, I could have not forced most of the humor.

I also want to defend the little "showcases" of each class by saying that the video was geared towards new players who had never heard of the game, hence my recommendation at the end to maybe buy it.

My next topic will be more thought out and the humor will flow more smoothly. I hope
