Commando was good as it was, I don't understand what moved them to change it. It consistently hits 500+ kills with it, can take care of big ZEDs with xbow if the team is really struggling with them, and it's a huge help to the team with ZED Time extensions and Call-Out. It's a strong class, I don't think it needs any upgrading.

15 or 20 waves, culminating with over 40 fleshpounds spawned but not too much trash. Something like 500 - 700 zeds at the last wave, including like 80 scrakes and 40 fleshpounds.

How to fix the ammo issue without making early waves OP? Ammo crate buyable at the trader. Small crate for equivalent of 6 ammo boxes for like £2k at trader, that you fill with ammo for additional £2k. Medium crate for 6k, maybe 20, great crate for 10k+. Balance the cost of ammo and content of crate accordingly.

Support gets ability to carry the crate for nearly no speed reduction, everyone else can carry a small crate for 25% speed reduction, then 50% then 75%. You can drop the crate but if you just leave it and run away, zeds will destroy it. It would only penalize kiting if you don't have a support. It would be too expensive to have in early waves but affordable later.

I've started looking at code of existing mutators.

I carried numerous HoE teams with support. M4+AA12 wastes fleshpounds and scrakes, and honestly there is nothing like a support to clear a corridor exit during kiting. Group of gorefasts and crawlers blocking the exit? Nothing can blast it open like volleys of shotgun.

I believe it's about reload times. However, if they fucked up the projectile vanishing into thin air fix, then it's a waste.
As for Commando, why the hell we need double amount of 50% mag increase? Eat Lead can be piercing rounds so it actually rewards you for lining up specimen, yet it would come pretty handy when you go full auto.
As for health increase, I wouldn't do that either. I'd give them a slight speed buff for a few seconds when they use syringe or receive medical attention.

The thing is at least they realized, they fucked up badly and they're losing player base rapidly. Any other offtopic bullshittery (like trying to add more hats, trinkets, unusual effects, stat counters and other etcetera) besides getting the game done will be frowned upon by the player base. This will result in more bad reviews and no one will look at the face of game again 'till it's done.

That's part of the point, leave trash clearing to Commando. However Gunslinger would still have bling-blingbow and Fleshpound take downs. So it wouldn't be useless even if you buff 'mando more in its frame.

What choice? They have no idea about mando's meta yet, so they faked that you have any "choice" at the first place. When skill tree revamp came out, one of the tiers will outdone the other or you'll stick to both 50% increase in mags because both tiers suck. That's the way of how TWI balances things. I think the Demo Reforms are p good. Looks like Demo is now SALEEL AL SAWARIM tier at last, or at the very least, getting there.

I think the Commando Reforms were out of left field, but I feel like it's more of a step forward than a step back. Maybe? Honestly, I didn't think at all that Commando was getting reforms so I don't even know you know?

I think the Railgun looks very sexy and I like the colour scheme(s?).

I don't have half of the issues you guys have, this game is a lot of fun even after 500 hours played and honestly the balance is nowhere as bad as you make it sound. Sure, zerk+medic as a combo is way better than say commando+medic but that's not a bad thing. The point is not to have all classes equally strong in all aspects, but to have complementary classes. A team with a good commando and good support rarely leave any work to do for the zerk, as the scoreboard usually proves.

TWI can still suck a dick for that VS and hats bullshit though.

The Zedconomy debut was an avoidable disaster, the PvP debut was a colossal failure.

However, those issues aside, the gameplay is not beyond saving. There are serious issues of balance but nothing that utterly destroys KF2.

Either way, don't expect any real changes to anything until the SS Update.

Tripwire will want to maintain the illusion that they're hard at work producing lots of new content, so they'll hold everything back until then.

Why release improvements in increments when you can hold them all back until one big date and then say SEE HOW HARD WE'VE BEEN WORKING LOOK AT ALL THIS STUFF.

The Commando changes? Demo changes? Incap and Weaknesses? New character? New maps? Watch. You won't see a piece of that until the Sharpshooter deployment is ready. They will hold it all back until they can release it all at once as a FREE CONTENT PACK. Watch.

I have seen many a HOE game where I've arrived late and I'm the first Medic on the ground. It's rare, but it happens. Even if I'm not, one extra Medic almost never hurt anybody, especially me.

I'm not even going to dignify that last sentence but for this, anyone around here who's played with me knows what I've done and what I can do. If you're trying to be clever, it's not working. If you're trying to be a chump, it's working very well.

Very successful against FPs since they run in a predictable pattern and have a huge head hitbox. Not so successful with raging Scrakes, but assuming a FB or demo don't block my sight I can easily keep one permastunned (not that it's hard at all, but still.)

when camping get everyone's attention and stun with xbow for a quick dispatch then resume healing and cleaning trash

No idea what that's going to look like. Maybe all incaps will function a bit like Firebug's burning-stumble and you'll be able to stumble fps with the 9mm by firing enough bullets at their feet fast enough? Stuns will no longer be the domain of a handful of specific weapons and can now be dealt by any sort of sustained headshotting, with the weapon/skills only making it happen faster or last longer? Some sort of combo system that encourages juggling multiple weapons against the same target and having an off-perk or two?

I can't even make educated guesses since TWI is capable of anything. Even odds the update breaks incaps altogether and it stays that way for 6 months because why wouldn't it at this point.

Different anon here, here's my take on using Medic efficiently:

Healing: I just felt that needed to be pointed out.

Kill things, assist your team mates, stumble zeds and for the love of god please kill siren's and husks if possible.

If there's 2 SC then make sure the other stays on YOU while team mates dispatch the first one. Same goes for Fleshpounds, if there's one then that's the Zerker's job but in the case it spawns from behind and zerker is busy, just make sure that you get the FP's attention, he can easily shred a team mate where as you can take a couple of hits with armor. Now if you got some idiot raging it with a pistol than that's another story.

Anyway, just quick run down. In the case there's a raging scrake on you, get some head shots in before he reaches for a swing, stumble him with leg shots and unload on his head until dead. Shouldn't take more than 2 AR clips.

Fleshpounds, If they rage, whip out the scalpel and block the hit to make them passive again. You can go for AR head shots if you wish but I'd personally go with a crossbow or Pulverizer if you have it. Some medics like to use double mag's or the old boomstick. Also, SMG and Medic Shotgun is ass.

One last thing, if you're not killing or everyone's health is topped off, repair your armor and your teammates.

You obviously want to knife the entire first wave to save on ammo and nades. You did know that right? Also Airborn Agent doubles armor repair during zed time for some reason so you're welcomed to use that if you're carrying a crossbow in my opinion but if you sedate, then go for it. Learn how to parry Hans incase he comes after you. Anyway that's all I can think of at the moment, I'll come back and add whatever I messed later.

Remember, you can't save everyone.

If you're ping is 100+ in a game, it's easier to clutch sedate zeds without unlocking your darts (looking up at the sky/ceiling for a moment) if you're used to the dart delay for that specific session.

Although to be fair, most pub medics don't know what the fuck sedate is.

What the fuck? You shouldn't even be getting close enough for scrakes to land a hit. Knife parries are for fps for a free de-rage at the cost of taking 10 damage. As Commando, you should focus on decaps always.

For FP:

Damage fall-off is not such a big deal to me. Sure, it's different from KF in an annoying way, but you just get used to it and adapt. I have totally assimilated it and have no problem dealing most damage and doing most kills on a daily basis.

Welding is not a support issue, it's an issue in general. They need to fix door behaviour and ZED teleportation to make welding any relevant, regardless of class perks.

The M4 is an abomination of having the mag size of the pump, stumble power of the DBS, and damage of the AA12.
When you can already carry all 3 of those and have more ammo than if it was just the AA12/M4.

The M4 rips gorefast, husk, bloat and siren ass appart from medium range like nothing else. I sometimes stick to the DBS for opening up doorways during a kite, but the sg500 is terrible, I'm happy to sell it at wave 2.

Reloading the M4 is not this long since most times you reload after a couple shots. Having more ammo is pointless, you won't use it.

To each his own really but with M4 +AA12 combo I complete HoE games with 600 kills including 15 or 20 big ZEDs and never run out of of ammo.

Not him, but for about three month straight last year I didn't use Supplier and I remember exactly two people ever complaining about it. If people get mad at you, most do so privately.

As for that extra 2kg, you can hold a Med Pistol, which is pretty useful no matter what perk you are, but generally I don't like to have full weight ever, I don't like the move speed handicap you incur.

Luckily the Med Pistol is only 1kg, but my point is that I don't believe in getting yourself to full weight just for the sake of being full weight.

Last game I played, burning Paris, full kite, no crossbow in the team, 618 kills and 19 big ones. I only shoot them when gs runs out of ammo or space or is just in danger, so it happens to decap a scrake with 5 shots, but usually it's closer to a mag dump, especially fleshpounds.

The issue with support is that its high risk and low reward especially with the fucked up falloff mechanics, you can't even have a few meters space on big guys without it applying 50% damage reduction.
Stacked on top of mediocre damage and needing to reload pretty often, its not favourable. Mandos, medics, demos and slingers are allowed distance, and the front fighters like zerk can tank hits and keep them on lockdown with knockdowns/parry, etc. Firebug can exploit enemies weakness with so many things on its side from altfire pushbacks, heat wave stumbling them, not needing to reload for so long thanks to the large battery life, shrapnel for chip damage if they got smaller zeds around them and just aiming at the ground in front of them letting splash do the work.

There are a few things interesting to me though

Looks like my fears have come true in that SWAT and MA will be released after the game is "finished", and the SS update might be the last big update. Everything between that and the release will be minor balance patches. I say minor because TWI is really afraid to take risks which is annoying. I doubt TWI is going to wait until December to push out MA and SWAT. This isn't much of a surprise to me and was a big possibility, I'm just disappointed that I might be correct.

Also I find it amusing the genre is labeled Sci-Fi Horror. Guess that's what TWI was going for with all its futuristic crap.

KF2 started with a bang to me and ended with a whimper. I've barely played since the GS update and can't say I miss it much. Maybe release will bring about a bunch of improvements but it's hard to be optimistic after seeing how TWI has handled KF2. Maybe I'm speaking too early though just because of this news, though.

TW will end Early Access either with the E3 update, or soon after it,, so that they can declare KF2 a finished game, for two reasons.

Firstly, to make the PS4 release for 2016.
Secondly, to start showing the "goodwill".

What do I mean by goodwill?
They release SS. Then they declare KF2 finished.
Then they say BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE, look at this! Then, the first post-launch update will have MA and/or SWAT.

Why? Well, you know what sounds better than FREE CONTENT PACK?

FREE POST-LAUNCH CONTENT. Yeah, they'll something like "Oh yeah look the Zedconomy was going to fund future content and look! We were telling the truth! Here's your free content!"

Now, we all know that the first waves of post-launch content will just be shit they didn't have time to cram into the 2016 EA finished release, but most people will fall for it.
In KF1, Demo was a post-launch perk, so they have a precedent with which to justify the plan.

I'm so lost when playing zerk. I parry what I can, block what I can't or sprint off but I don't really know how to deal the damage. Pokes to heads works nice on trash but is it any good for scrakes and fpounds? You guys shit on the zwei but what's the alternative? I realised all by myself that the pulv does good damage when empty as it one shots sirens and gorefasts but that's more of a glitch and might be nerfed whenever TWI gets on it.

I don't feel good feedback from the big ZEDs, they just eventually die so I don't learn the techniques if any. Please advise.

Seriously, you're a Berserker, there is no need for formality or subtlety. Just get stuck in and get to work.

If you're using the Zwei, don't bother with that headpoking for trash. Slash away, that'll do it. Sure a headpoke might be better on a bloat or a husk or a siren, but at the end of the day, slashing will do just fine.
Now, if anyone tells you the Zwei is worthless, take it as a red flag that you are being memed on. However, it is not the ideal weapon against big guys. It's true, the range on it is enough to outrange and slash scrakes from a safe distance (I'm not kidding, try it), but by and large, the Pulv is what you need.

Concerning the Pulv, there really isn't much to say. An unloaded Pulv is a mighty power in its own right. Unloaded RMB attacks will crush any trash skull, and is surprisingly effective against Scrakes. For FPs, just load up and whack away. A hit to the head may stun.

Now obviously, there is always a place for finer techniques, but what you really need as a base is an aggressive mindset. Note: aggressive in this instance means "forceful and direct", it does not mean "reckless and thoughtless".

There is a fine difference between "A horde of Zeds approaches, let's get in there." and "A horde of Zeds approaches, I BETTER THROW MY LIFE AWAY IN A SUICIDAL CHARGE".

tl:dr

Well, look, don't take just my word for it. I don't claim to be a dedicated Berserker, I'm no specialist. Go out there and read guides and get the inside story from the Greats, not just one guy.

That said, that's about it.
There's no difficult secret magical complex advanced formula for Berserker against big guys that's absolutely mandatory, and whoever tells you that's not the case at all is just talking up a big game. This is not the Ballerina perk, it's the Berserker perk. You're not a dainty little willow flowing with the breeze. You're a 175 HP Explosive-Hammer Sharp-Sword Hard-and-Fast melee nightmare.

You dodge when you should. You block when you should. When you're not doing those, you lay out as much damage as you can. Rough treatment. Brute force. Decisive action.

The zwei poke and pulv bash are both great for body/leg stumbles on sc/fp
Wouldn't recommend the eviscerator unless you want to handicap yourself.
It's still a decent weapon but the bash for it is slow, the 250 gas won't really last, and the blades will sometimes get stuck/lost.

Let's be honest here, medic is little more than a health regen mechanic. Wether a player dies or not in HoE is largely dependant on how careful they are and how well is the team as a whole doing. When squads of 3 trash zeds can take away 150 hp in a couple seconds the medic really isn't the trump card. The only way I can see one being talented at it is doing non-medic things such as helping with trash in a talented way.

Had a chance to play with CIYDRO guy aka q3.railgun that some people admire here. And boy what a failure he was.

First of all, he was Commando that was ignoring sirens and husks, while shooting clots and missing a lot. When Scrakes arrived he was like "I got this" and died soloing one scrake because a stalker was kicking him in the butt. Then he changed to a Gunslinger and died to another solo scrake because his aim was horrible and he blocked himself against the wall. All the time complaining in chat when someone used crossbow how "hurr durr don't use gamebreaking weapon". He was dying every wave since wave 5 while pouring all our dosh to him (he was with some friends that were sucking his cock), and staying at the bottom of leaderboard with medic having more kills than him.

On second game he ragequited because "too many people were using xbow, ruining all the fun" when he died again.

I'm going to host KF2 HoE with friendly fire and friendly collision enabled, on custom maps except stupid cube-like ones in Europe.

Are there people here that would genuinely be interested and play on a daily basis?

None of my friends have actual interest in KF2 despite me gifting it to them and carrying them through premium games with fun kiting et all, so it's really me on my own and I guess random steam acquaintances.

Aloha amigo! I'm the US Central KF2 server hoster. If you haven't found out already, in order to host custom maps there is two methods. First there is the download version, which is where you have downloaded the map from the internet, and then there is the workshop version, which is self-explanatory.

Download Version:
If you downloaded a map from the internet, then first you must take the map file and put it into this directory
>kf2_server\KFGame\BrewedPC\Maps
Once you have done that you then go to the config folder
>kf2_server\KFGame\Config
and edit the PCServer-KFGame.ini file
Scroll down in that file until you see [KF-BurningParis KFMapSummary]
MapName=KF-BurningParis
and a bunch of other lines like it (they'll be down in the bottom of the file usually)
Now for the next part here is a template

[KF-<Exact Map File Name> KFMapSummary]
MapName=KF-<Exact Map File Name>

Along with that template, you do not have to put the .kfm file extension with it.

Now in order to add it to map rotation you have to scroll up to where is says
[KF.Game.KFGameInfo]
And under that there should be a line saying
GameMapCycles=(Maps=("")
(there's going to be maps in there it the way)
just simply add your map anywhere in that list and make sure you have them separated by a comma and surrounded by ""

Part 2 Incoming

Now for the workshop version (holy shit this is taking longer than I thought)

Before you do any file editing, go to the workshop and find a item you like.
Let's use this one as an example:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=642313451

If you'll notice the id=blahblah at the end there, that is what you'll need.

Copy that id number and keep it safe
Now go to the config folder from before and edit the file:
PCServer-KFEngine.ini

Now go to the area that says
[IpDrv.TcpNetDriver]
and put down this line:
DownloadManagers=OnlineSubsystemSteamworks.SteamWorkshopDownload
Make sure it is at the top of all the other DownloadManagers=

Now that that is done, scroll to the very bottom of the file and type this:
[OnlineSubsystemSteamworks.KFWorkshopSteamworks]
ServerSubscribedWorkshopItems=<id number>

Start up the server, it'll say the status of download is 0 or something, basically saying it needs to be downloaded, and the server will download it after a short amount of time being up, then you restart the server and enjoy
(if it says the download is status 4 that means its downloaded and updated by the way)

I can't recall if the maps are added to mapcycle or not, so if they don't show up then follow the mapcycle guide up above

Workshop method is a lot less file moving. The only thing you have to do each time for the workshop method is add in the
ServerSubscribedWorkshopItems=<id number>
each time you want to add something to your server

I for one enjoy the workshop method since it also means that all of your clients have ready access to the maps on your server without them having to do any file moving or updating themselves.
