You are not really a full screen character, you have a very good hop in normal in j.C and a very good 2B and 5B.
3C is good but think of it as a ice breath with a slightly longer range, it's not your main gameplan.
Your main gameplan is to get in there.
Why do people take GG seriously? What's the difference between it and something like Nitroplus, they're both clearly kusoge but the difference is Nitroplus is aware it's kusoge and makes everything 10000% crazy, making it fun even though it's a bad game.

They neeed the mainstays, as they are mainstays for reason.
They have some Nests saga characters that haven't been seen in a while, as they haven't been seen for a while.
And they have new characters to show that they are ready to actively make new characters and move on with the series.
In all that the Ash-saga chacters are left in spot where they don't have room. They have not yet earned mainstain status, nor are old enough, for the "we haven't seen this character in a while" treatment.

People take it more seriously because it takes straight up dedication to really hammer down every little thing in GG like maximizing damage from stray hits and how momentum can affect your combo paths and corner carry. Some people bitch about how it's a trainingboar kind of game but from my experience you rarely use the big combos you practice for ages in training mode.
It's more about how well you can convert so the practice does pay off but it's more about just knowing what combo paths go where and at what distance than landing some sick counterhit combo that has multiple incredibly tight parts to it.
Also if you play against people near your skill level it's still fun even if you lose and not aggravating thinking you coulda whooped that nigga like in sf. That's all my opinion anyway.

Using A+B for your dashes is the only way to melty on that pad desu. There is nothing wrong with using A+B even on stick, its preference; you just have to make sure you hit A and B at the same time or you will stick out a random button and you might get punished for it. If you mess up a 686 airdash you are not sticking out a button and risking a punish so that's its benefit. A+B will clean up your inputs and make movement require less hand work. Give it a go if you are not already using it.

Blitz shield big moves, 6p, IB or a2a air dash ins, IB or pushblock blockstrings, poke out ground dash ins. If you were to treat it like street fighter you would just regular block jump ins or try to dp them both of which are terrible ideas. The only part of neutral the two have in common is that you use moves that are hard to whiff punish as a way to stop grounded dashes.
You have a dozen more tools to deal with shit in GG but probably the best one that a lot of SF players don't do is literally just starting your own offense, as opposed to playing the morereactionary, footsies based style.That they are used to.
