Learn to aim extremely well, literally all you have to learn to play him. If you can consistenly hit bodyshots, you will become god. You'll learn health spawns, where you can climb, and where you can harass from after just playing him a while.
The issue most Genjis have is that they get a good position to harass from, then just fucking miss every shot and do effectively nothing. His playstyle is heavily focused around poking people down from flanking positions before picking them out of the crowd. Your ideal situation is to poke them down quickly before they can hide with consistent bodyshots, shift onto them to kill, and then shift away to avoid any counterplay from their team. The worse your aim, the more inconsistently you'll be able to set up this scenario.

I play Zenyatta and I am glad how little this happens. The real meat of playing Zenyatta is throwing around discord orbs that force enemy players to either disengage and break line of sight or be melted like butter. Having a lucio around to do health top-offs really does wonders for a team with a zenyatta.

So my friend wants to play Mercy like a lot.
Besides Widow, does anybody combo notably well with Mercy? I know you guys shitpost about Phara/Mercy a lot but figured that was just waifu garbage.
I used to like most characters, but since I picked up Winston everyone's pissing me off. I'm not having any trouble particularly, just characters like Widow and Bastion are usually played by really shitty new players, are completely stationary, and put up no fight when I drop a shield and go punchout on them. Mcrees are usually pretty bad as well, and 76 often split off one-man-army and die in seconds too. He's making me notice how shit everyone else is playing. I like Rein, Mercy, Junkrat and Zen and that's about it.
