I doubt adding races will really make the campaign more difficult. Obviously it'll extend it but the ai/campaign settings won't change. The starting difficulties might get altered and we don't know if the next titles will add specific challenges but it'll likely stay the same.

It gets harder because of more enemies and more doomstacks to deal with. Once you finally do conquer your immediate area, you now have to deal with huge enemy blobs headed your way on multiple fronts. Giving a longer campaign and more to do late-game means more challenge.

We've already seen almost all the beastmen unit's animations in the code. They are going to be featured it's just a question of how, but I doubt they will not be a faction in some sense. It could be emergent rebels - instead of chaos unrest spawning norsca chaos stacks it'd spawn beastmen. Or when Arch the everchosen arrives a beastman stack or three spawn.

The dukes don't ally, and rarely wage war with anyone except the French vampires.

They also only have two city provinces so can't field any armies worth a shit, but have really good resources that they squander by not trading with anywhere.

You can basically take them out one by one, and funnel all those resources into the massive number of trade links you're likely to have.

Is it just me, or does the chaos invasion actually make the game easier for the Empire? I never owned Wissenland, Stirland and Averland directly and got the Wasteland and Nordland by confederating with Marienburg for free. And the keklords are hardly a challenge after beating Chaos either. A long victory after only 140 turns seems short.

I'm pretty sure at this point most players of Warhammer Fantasy are just playing Total War and pretending the End Times were stopped and everything went back to status quo with slightly more dread of destruction going on.

Not that anyone plays Warhammer Fantasy anymore because you're better off buying an army from eBay and using a ruleset like Kings of War because GW has insane prices on their shit and the Warhammer rules are too complicated for their own good.

Another thing, there's no roads leading north so using underground travel is usually faster even if there's no obstacle.

There really wasn't. It was clear from everything we seen pre launch they took the development seriously and knew another Rome 2 would finish them. The fact they delayed it only proved how much they wanted to make sure it didn't end up a Rome 2 redux.

Load times are NOT awful get a better computer. The very first load when you start the game up is fairly long but all subsequent ones are very quick.

Wolves and bats are total horse shit, as are zombies (although a few units of zombies can make the difference in the early game). Focus on Growth and income, you'll be swimming in dosh in no time. For efficiency, spells are broken so abuse Spirit Leech/Fate of Bjuna.

Anyone? The only testing I found was

Chariots:
Faster
Substantially more penetration and knockdown
Take no damage on a charge
Can withdraw without taking damage easily
Movement orders knockdown enemies letting them bounce between targets
Do very little damage
Only 4 units

Boar Boy Big 'Uns:
More units
Deal a lot more damage than chariots
Can rack up a decent number of kills in melee after the charge
Die very quickly, against empire swords the first charge lost 6, next lost 15
Terrible penetration and knockdown, often get stuck on the first line
Withdrawing will cause casualties every time
Lose a few on a charge
Slow as fucking shit
Withdrawing is hard because they're slow, can't bounce between units because they get stuck

Wolf Riders:
Fast as god damn shit
Great knockdown
Easily able to bounce between units
Surprisingly good moral
Piss poor damage even on a charge but good for killing archers
Struggle against dwarf quarrelers
Can deploy anywhere
Only useful against infantry for moral damage, rear charges do little

Spider Riders
Somewhat slow
Ignores terrain
Much tankier and better moral then wolves
Poison is always nice for the debuffs
Mediocre charges
Models take up a lot of space

So far it seems that as much as I love wolf riders spider riders are better, especially in a combo, ork boar units suck ass may as well use chariots but then those do pathetic damage on a charge

Accidentally closed out browser but looking them up in 8th edition all you'd really need to do for chosen Great weapon vs Greatsword is:

-Drop Emp GS by maybe 20 men
-Make sure GS cost is lower than a Chosen Great Weapon,. Considering a CHosen GW is 18 + 3 for the GW they are technically close to twice as much as a Emp GS, but twice as expensive as a GS is too high.
-GS Attack is 4 and ingame is 30 (30/4 is 7.5). Chosen GW is 6 and 44 ingame (44/6 is 7.3). So both are multipled by around the same number. Maybe raise Chosen GW by 2-4 attack points for ingame balancing & because Chosen GW has higher strength and +1 more attack than a Emp GS in tabletop.

-Given Chosen GW anti infantry. I dunno why they don't get it in the first place. Chosen Axemen can have the highest chosen defense, chosen halberdiers the anti-large, chosen GW can have the anti-inf.

Raise melee defense or armor a little bit for Chosen GW to reflect higher toughness but not HP as both have 1 in wound.
Initiative maybe see wherever melee attack speed is dictated and up it just a tiny bit for chosen GW.

Swamp enemy war machines with bats. Wolves are only good vs unarmored targets. I tend to have a single unit of wolves soley for chasing down routed units, keep them back from combat otherwise. They are super fast so they will catch even routed cav.

Dont underestimate the effect vampiric corrution has when you travel outside of Sylvania - get some heroes to corrupt your target province in advance, and dont underestimate the buildings that give corruption in adjacent provinces.

How many Lords should you field early game?
I only just started my Empire campaign and I've only claimed the first province, but I'm not sure if I should focus on more armies at the risk of bankrupting myself, or if I should wait but risk getting attacked all of a sudden. Right now I just have two medium sized armies.

It could work for some factions, like orks vs nids would probably work as the majority of their armies are big blocks that run into each other, with the odd bigger thing. Hell even the imperial guard may be feasible, it's basically like rocking up with a load of artillery and line infantry. Armies that work on small elite teams like the space marines wouldn't work at all though.

Handgunners are better vs armor. So if you are attack dorfs bring hand gunners, but in nearly every other situation cross bows are better since they arc and you can take out enemy archers very quickly.

I suppose they could make some regions sub-regions once you enter them. e.g Athel Loren is meant to be a confusing magical forest for outsiders anyway - maybe you click on it in the map and it expands into a much larger territory that wood elves and beastmen can fight over.

Taking that a step further it could possibly even have a second exit somewhere outside of its physical location on the map, that'd give the wood elves an option other than "fuck over the Bretonians"
