Also, can anyone post a good setup for space Nazis?

How do i make sure every planet has a fucking paradise dome, especialy nigger sector ones (building one and passing it on without allowing redevelpoment doesnt work, as the later breaks the sector ai even more)?
Cna i addit to a "must have building" sector list in the fielés or soemthing?
>>143762784
gee I dunno probably the bigger one wins FAGGOT
So, specialized plantes with hubs and stuff, or match resources to tiles, and fill the empty/surplus food with labs? (until you hit lategame and everything goes to labs ofc)

I match. More micro but those extra 1 or 2 resources add up, but it depends on my resources
>>143763350
All planets must produce max science, and you should try to maintian enough energy to keep your fleets in space.
You can fix your mineral needs by simply placing the odd mine network onto a 2 mineral tile here and there.
I posted this after last thread died.
>Most of my gameplay mods still work, but my cosmetic (custom species) ones are broken.
Dunno exactly, but probably similar to my problem with the expanded colors mod. In /interface is a file customize_species_editor.gui, make a copy from your install folder, open it up, open up the version of the file from the mod, copy the species portrait section from the mod over the one in the copy, save copy, overwrite the mod version with the copy. With the expanded colors mod I had to the same except with the empire flags section instead of species portrait. Though I can't say for 100% certain that'll work since I don't know what files are in your mod or what 1.1 changed in customize_species_editor.gui, I just know that's what I had to do to get extended colors working and I saw species portraits in that same file. At least it's something to try.
The only other mod I had an issue with was one of the expanded or extended trait mods which was easy to fix because the mod had a 00_defines.lua it didn't need in it. It was causing me to get domination victory on gamestart because I only needed 0 planets for it, not sure why exactly, but getting rid of the unnecessary defines from the mod fixed it. Expanded Species Traits is the name of that mod.
Everything else worked fine other than having to go in and make it so the launcher wasn't telling me I had outdated mods, because that hurt my autism.
So do the mod/patches somewhat fix the game now or is it too early?
>>143763350

Or is the tech penalty retarded like in civ5 ?
>>143767110
>caring about achievements
>>143767360
hell yeah nigga gotta get that juicy planets.
>>143767360
The tech penalty is more to prevent large Empires from snowballing technology wise, and you'll also suffer a bit in the short run so you have to plan out your expansion. In the long run you're still better off making more colonies though, it's not like Civilization where more than a few will completely cripple you.
>>143767360
depends on which version you're running
the latest one has the 2% per op penalty
the beta patch has 10% penalty per planet +1% per pop
so its either civ 5 or worse than civ 5
>>143767360
You don't colonize planets. You sodomize them and along with any inhabitants.
>he doesn't enslave anything that moves except his own race
>he doesn't uplift primitive races and improve them, so that they may be prepared for their future as slaves
Why exterminate life when you can make use of it? That's all xenos are worth for. Automatons are too risky for labor, it is better that something of flesh handle it.
it kinda pisses me off that after early game I barely ever get any anomalies (from territories which I conquered and then survey)
is there a way to 'un-survey' planets so that you get an other chance of discovering an anomaly? or can you add a random one? all I have found is how to add specific anomalies which I honestly don't want
>inb4 consolefag
yeah I know. haven't ever cheated so far but this is really something that bothers me and all I care about is fun
>>143767360
from what Ive heard the tech penalty from pops was lowered from 2% to 1% and planet penalty is now 10%, so a planet with more than 10 tiles is more efficient than before
>>143762351

>>143779049
Nah each pop is part of a party but pops above a certain happiness threshold will join the loyalist party regardless of their ethos. I actually consider it a broken feature, since it means that unless you purposely try to make your pops unhappy they will never form new parties and your empire will never have any internal politics whatsoever. They should change it from being happiness based to being ethics based, essentially the way you thought it works. Loyalists would be those who have the same ethics as the government, and factions would form up around other ethos that your pops adopt, and really most pops should just want policy changes or empire wide edicts rather than full independence, where as now, factions only demand that. The current system doesn't work at all, and I'd probably have posted this on the paradrone forum if I wasn't a pirate.
>>143779094

unfortunately the AI is always fucking stupid no matter the difficulty
I have yet to see a strategy game where they scale difficulty with AI alone, not handicaps and bonuses
>pic semirelated
yeah, I had 3 other baits doing the exact same to keep ~400k fleet value busy when everyone attacked me so that I could take them apart one by one
>>143781161
I always heard the GalCiv AI (at least the one in GalCiv 2) had good difficulty scaling.
>>143781135
Tell me you don't purge the pets.
>>143779647
Im assuming you are playing 1.1
>Dont colonize too many planets, only go for size 20+
>Specialize each of your 5 core worlds
>2 planets with only energy buildings, admin building in the center so u can build betharian powerplants around it for the adjacency bonus and u get even more energy out of the power hub + overload edict if u can spare the influence
>1 planet with full minerals + hub building (planet with extra mineral modifier
>1 capital world with full science and all the buildings than have empire wide bonuses
>1 full science world
>all sectors should be on research focus, make sectors big so the AI has access to the orbital minerals and doesnt waste planet tile space for building powerplants
once you get your core worlds up u should have several hundred income worth of energy and minerals which means u can shit out big fleets in no time
>>143780004
the only real difference comes in the early game, u gotta get a bit lucky to survive the first few decades on insane. if u get an aggressive neighbor early on youre pretty much doomed, AI has 1k+ worth of fleet by 2210 on insane ready to stomp you back to pre sentient
>>143781490
>make sectors big
Is there a limit to how large a sector can be?
>>143781687
No, and it helps to have them fuckhuge because the sector ai is a ridiculous miser who won't build things unless he has a ridiculous amount of materials left after the build order
>>143781687
No but I have heard that it can cause some lag having really large sectors
>>143781687
No, the 5 planet limit doesn't apply to sectors, the only problem could be that u gotta deal with stronger separatist movements if the sector involves a lot of planets with diverging ethics/xenos

GalCiv 2 AI is omniscient though.
>>143768296
starships unlimited
>>143782141
Worth to rewatch it in good quality?
>>143782164
Is there any strategy ai that isn't omniscient?
>>143770201
That's a bit far-fetched lad, even for fantasy.
>>143781408
Reptilians are, in absence of a spider species, the only acceptable archetype.
>>143782164
Every """"AI"""" is omniscient.
>>143781256
That's because they made the AI use more processing power and actually have more capabilities as the difficulty increased, though the AI still made bad decisions. Something I really loved from GalCiv though is that you could set individual difficulty for each AI, that wouldn't work for Stellaris, but it'd be great for Civ.

>>143782234
No, but you could read it in max quality

It's sad how hard Manlets try.
When will they ever learn.

All the of the races are based on things that live on earth. Those are clearly based on clams or oysters.

I've been playing Stellaris a lot and I think I'm ready to start trying mods out. Any favorites out there?
>>143783667
Still waiting for a patch that will allow immortal rulers.
>>143783453
Stellaris' molluscoids are based on clams in the same way modern Italy is based on the Roman Empire.

>>143783857
I have some shitty pirated mods. Wanna try?
How do I destroy weaker species I encounter? Can I bombard them from space?

I'm new to civ and I'm curently playing civ4bts.
Is there any mod I should play? I'm having a hard time managing population and gold.. I always try to get as many cities as I can to secure a nice size civ on my continent but my gold just goes poof.
Any tips?
I play with expansive and the cultural and expansiva dude

>>143766515
can you make a custom name list on the beta patch or just leader titles
because default human names are kinda lame to me andI'd like to give everyone medieval persian names
>>143783981
I can always download them from steam, I was just curious if there had been some particularly well liked mods here. I was mostly curious about ai and naval rebalancing type mods, since there seem to be a bunch of those.
But if you like, you can give me a list of what you've got.
