In HOI4, aircraft DO NOT cause damage. That's right, you can pick 10 bombers bomb an army, or you can pick 1000 bombers, it will make no difference.
What ground attack missions actually do is create a possitive combat modifier for your divisions that engage enemy bombed divisions.
To make sure that I wasn't just jumping to conclussions, I cheated and got myself an air fleet of 10000 bombers, which I used to bomb the Polish army, without having my divisions march. I waited 1 week and guess what? Not a SINGLE Polish casualty. Ofcourse, when I marched towards them, they crumbled in 1 second.
In other words, aircraft multiply the attack value of your ground troops. Do not bother bombing something without troops nearby to attack.

Napoleon V's speech was met with a standing ovation from the Assembly--one brought on by fear more than respect, of course, and Joseph left in good spirits.
Until his relative August met him at the Tuileries, at least. According to the nervous older Bonaparte, slight issues of supply management prevented the French armies on the front from receiving complete shipments of gas masks. August reported that there might be insufficient gas masks to protect against British mustard gas, perhaps for months depending upon the supply situation.
Joseph is not pleased, but he has announced the war; there is no turning back now.

A relieved August Bonaparte is able to report to Napoleon V a few short days later that that, in spite of a still-significant shortage of gas masks on the front, by means of careful strategic planning and a "shared pool" system for the use of the gas masks which were currently available to France, it appeared as if French forces in the field would be able to defend against British mustard gas.
Curiously, August reports that, based on initial combat with British colonial forces in Africa, the British may not have provided gas masks to their forces, or at least not their colonial troops. If true, it would represent a massive boon to the French in their attempted landings in southern England, for the British Army has already managed to arrive at some of the prospective landing sites and interrupt French operations there. Thankfully there were no British navies in the Channel and the First and Second fleets have successfully closed the Channel to outside intervention, so French reinforcements should be available in the event of a prolonged struggle for the coast.
For now, it appears as if everything is going precisely to plan. Cousin-Mountauban, from his field command post on the shore of Brighton, is not at all relieved by the smooth simplicity he has experienced so far.I really didn't cheat for that gas defense unlock, just got incredibly lucky.

On April 12th, Marshal Cousin-Mountauban reports that French troops have secured the beaches to the fullest extent they are able, and that occupation operations are now in progress. August Bonaparte is ecstatic, and even the usually stoic Cousin-Mountauban shows some joviality at the news; although his forces are locked down in a battle with British General Hugh Butler, the vast majority of the southern English coast is still free of British troops, leaving the potential for advancement wide open. August tentatively expects that the defensive line for Phase 1 might be established by the end of the month, with reinforcements from France potentially available even before then.
August and Cousin-Mountauban are both aware that the occupation of the heavily-populated and heavily-industrialized Midlands is critical to the success of the operation, but for now all goes well. French troops have landed, three British armies in Africa have been totally eradicated with the only real resistance existing in the Congo, and the Second Fleet has even been authorized to support Scandinavian naval action off the coast of Scotland.
Luck--or, as the proud Cousin-Mountauaban would say, excellent planning--so far stays with the French.

Glory of glories! Contrary to all the projections of the French General Staff, the invasion of Britain has gone so well that on April 24th, just twelve days after Marshal Cousin-Mountauban confirmed that French troops were clear to advance from the beaches, London has fallen! The advance was so rapid and so unexpected that the British royal family was just barely able to escape the capital, and are currently en route to Glasgow, still far behind the front lines, with a steamer constantly fueled in port, ready to whisk them to Dublin and the perceived safety of Ireland at a moment's notice.

With the majority of Albion occupied and French armies streaming through the mountains of Scotland, the royal family has fled to Dublin, once again just before the French rolled over their temporary place of refuge. Although George V is now personally pessimistic as to Britain's chances for victory, he has determined to stay in Dublin, "come what may," in order to inspire his people across the narrow sea. One thing that George does not doubt is the strength of the Royal Navy, and its defensive fleet in the Irish Sea. There is no concern in his mind that French forces will land in Ireland without the Royal Navy stopping them.
This is precisely the sort of "arrogant presumption" which Napoleon V is so in love with proving false. In spite of the great risk to France's navy and her operational capabilities in the event of failure, Joseph gives the order to Admiral Daniel Lebouef to assault the British navy in the Irish Sea "with all available combat vessels."
Although Lebouef is cautious about the power of the Royal Navy, the seemingly incredible power Britain possessed just a month beforehand had quickly been proven a façade, and Lebouef trusts in Napoleon V's judgement; the Battle of the Irish Sea begins on the 20th of May.

I think I'm going to remove the New English cores on the area since they usually attack immediately, but I need to resolve the Yankee assimilation there. I have an idea where the Confederation accepts Yankee but loses them when the riots start. I can make some flavor event where all Yankees in the country leave and go to either the USA or Boston Commonwealth

CK2 is meant to be a long game, you're not supposed to max out all the tech in 200 years since you game spans 600 ish. Fighting battles will give you military tech, that's about it. Universities can be built in cities and there are a bunch of tech events from the theology/scholarship focus. Get a king/emperor title asap since they get more tech.

Also, I knew virtually nothing about British naval strength prior to this war, nor where their navies were positioned (plus I have shit Admirals) so I chose to play it safe by blockading the Channel and ferrying across it rather than doing something a bit more inventive like that.

I quit the game. I appreciate the effort, but as I expected, it's just a bunch of hard work on events and shit on top of a game that doesn't work for that.

You should put your highest ranking officers in command of army groups as it is the one that gives the most interesting bonus.
The problem with HoI3 is that each country has a list of officers and they won't generate any random one besides those so if you play as a minor you'll quickly run out of generals.

They were a puppet of Russia, I couldn't add any wargoals against them. I could open add wargoals screen but it was empty. I tried cheating for jingoism, but it still was empty. I could get a bit of them by adding acquire substate - Georgia, which gave me infamy, but I couldn't find anyway to get Azerbaijan and Armenia. I played an Italian game the other day, and I have several questions
The core that appears on Corfu, is it just territorial? By the time I could claim it the island was all Greek, and i assume there are some Italians there to begin with. I believe the cores on Albania are the same as well.
When France got dismantled, they lost those borders provinces in Provence, but I didn't have a need for them; asides from having better forts and terrain in Savory, Turin, and Nice, they were 95% French(with the last 5% being African POPs). Just a suggestion, but maybe after a French dismantlement, and event should fire as to whether or not Italy wants to be given those provinces. Just my two cents.
What's the requirements for the national assimilation and cores spreading event to happen? Asides from the cores given via decisions, I didn't have one event fire to assimilate or spread cores, and I had Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Slavonia, and half of Albania uncored.
And the strangest to me, after dismantling the UK, I got Malta. Now, it was at 60k, about 10k being Irish and British, but the rest where all Maltese. Now, is there a reason why Italy doesn't have Maltese as an accepted culture? It seemed weird that I got the core, but didn't accept anyone on the island.Also, thanks for tall the work you do. I plan to overall redo dismantlement but I agree, asking if the italians want the land or not is better than outright giving to them.
The province needs to be majority primary or accepted and neighboring provinces need to have a core of your nation. That's about it.
I actually never decided what to do with Malta and the Maltese. They are too small to warrant their own culture, but NNM added it for some reason. I guess it's so they don't all turn British but then again, that doesn't seem to be a problem in Heligoland.
Anyway, I don't know what to do with them. Seeing as the Italians are already too few and too weak I don't think there would be a problem if they had a decision to accept them, especially because they are in the italian culture group and the italians were working to get all the local cultures integrated.
