Someone do palette tests for that room.

I've never seen anything but green/purple for that room. It's like that on real hardware for me too.

I doubt it will be anywhere near as dramatic as the red bricks.

NTSC has poorly defined reds, so that's part of the problem.

Are there other consoles that suffer from the same NTSC color woes as the NES?

Any console with analog output, potentially. All the DACs have their quircks.

Is there a good way besides installing Windows 7/XP to play old pc games on modern hardware /emugen/?

Pic related is some DirectDraw wrapper that was supposed to fix the game in modern hardware.

http://superuser.com/a/881230/599039 Can this be applied to all old DirectX games?

It's kinda of funny how pc emulate all kinds of console games but when it comes to old pc games shit gets rough.

A lot of consoles natively generate RGB and thus have objective color palettes, however. The NES does not.

IIRC he was playing the VC version with a classic controller, whose analog stick is way too sensitive compared to the N64's, which can make aiming the light arrows quite hard.

Hadn't though about that, but if you look at DraStic's release history it's slowed down drastically over the past year. Exophase very well may have already started a 3DS emulator.

Irrelevant for years. Guy can't make anything to top bsnes. Tried to get into an ego pissing contest with RetroArch by trying to compete directly with them with Higan. Pissed away any brand recognition he had by ditching "bsnes" for "I am totally in love with Japan" style name.

Guy could do something like focus on another console and bring it to bsnes level quality emulation, but instead has bit off more than he can chew and just stagnates.

Really, bnes should have been his next focus. He could make it pretty much perfect.
>>

Probably all with the same stolen documentation again as he is known for with his 0-day GBA emulator.

Quite the hypocritical lot these guys are to make this same propaganda over and over again that "emulators are DA LEGALZZ!!!!" when they all get their docs from WarioWorld in the end. Pathetic really. But when should you start expecting a sub-warez scene to be 'honorable' about what they do.

Emulation devs work hard to provide us free content and to enjoy old video games. Then a bunch of man children shreik that they must have lives of poverty? They deserve to profit for their hard work like anyone else.

I myself donate to the patreons of several emulation projects. Would CEMU have gotten anywhere it has without the donations? I think not. I have on my Android device several high quality emulators that, yes I paid for. And I'd do it again. Quality products with months of work put into them deserve to be rewarded.

Mednafen, RetroArch and other projects are holding us back, by clinging to this poor man poverty mindset. They jealosly try to tear anyone down who tries to earn money for their work. If they just got with the program, they would be less bitter, and their projects would greatly benefit from it.

They would have gotten nowhere without that Oman-style leak, that is for sure.

Which returns us to this particular issue: if it were open source, it would quickly transpire where most of this is coming from.

It's as 'legal' as making Overwatch porn with Source Filmmaker. Just see how much Blizzard tolerates that.

You gotta edit config.mk and config.h to have HAVE_VULKAN defined and enabled. Then just make.

I've been testing it for a few hours now, and it's actually amazing. It beats the SHIT out of the GL driver. For one, it completely eliminates the need for GPU hard sync. Even the bsnes cores, which are notorious for having very noticeable input lag without it for some reason, work nicely. This frees up CPU cycles that can go towards frame delay instead. Also, amazingly, it gets rid of random stutters on multi-monitor setups, so now you can safely output to a secondary monitor or HDTV and still keep smooth motion without resorting to the shitty D3D driver.

The only drawbacks, other than being confined to modern hardware, are that it doesn't support current Cg or GLSL shaders, but I'm sure many of them will get ported to Vulkan's format eventually. Also no compatibility with libretro GL cores, of course, but we all knew that.

All in all, I'm very impressed.

Kek, even Sp finally admitted Cg is dead after shilling it for so long(because themaister added better suppport for glsl at long last) while libretro shills are still shilling when libretro is clearly in the wrong.
https://github.com/libretro/beetle-psx-libretro/issues/50

>Squarepusher:Cannot be helped, the GL renderer right now requires 3.3 core context and Cg doesn't work with that.
>Cg is dead for anybody but nvidia's partners for which they still provide support. To the public it's essentially dead and buried.
>Maybe when/if the GL renderer no longer necessarily requires core context will Cg shaders work with it.

>Stevenstrike:@twinaphex "Cg is dead for anybody (...)"

and how can you do that when nvidia close sourced their fucking shader backend?

even with cg being dead they STILL did not want to opensource it so that one could at least get rid of the compatibility problems that have arisen ever since they halfheartedly left it for dead.

they have nobody but themselves to blame at this point for the distrust they receive from the linux community as long as they keep doing this bullshit, and nobodiy will want to touch their APIs anymore either until they will fix their trust.
