One thing it lacks is speed- it's Warhawk-levels of slow for a Clanner, and it also will have four tons eaten up by locked in jump jets.
What it will be able to do is a lot, depending on which of the omnipods it gets. It'll get more ballistic hardpoints to play with than the Timby, definitely. It'll have options for ballistic hardpoints in both arms and both side torsos (B config is dual Gauss + dual LB-2X) so it can put 4x dakka out there. The Prime has an energy head option, the D has head and CT energy hardpoints and gives you missile options in both arms and both side torsos (4xALRM20 in the stock version). You can also get a triple energy left arm out of the A.

The Lanner doesn't use any tech we don't have in the majority of its variants, a couple have ATMs but that's it.
There is the problem that it uses the wrong MASC, it's supposed to use MK III and not MK I so who knows what they'll do about that especially since its MASC is in the CT. It also really doesn't need an extra ton taken away.
Lanner won't be a good robot to begin with anyways but it will be fun.

So I was looking at the trial Battlemaster build and it got me thinking, what if you ran 3LPL3MPL on the Black Knight? It'd free up your arm as a bit of a shield and it gives you higher DPS with slightly better heat management and less facetime (pulses vs regular medlas) but it does sacrifice a bit of your overwhelming alpha.

It's pretty average on heat already. Actually with that many JJs it jumps well enough to poptart even cERMLs somewhat viably.. The MPL build is probably more useful in organized teams where 3 Brunet Bannerets will blow you out of the sky the second time you jump and you're just trying to get backstabs in mid clusterfuck but 10JJs and longer ranged weapons is pretty flexible for solo and tagging things for assists.
