Poise works NOTHING like it did in older games. It's basically a resistance to stuns while attacking.
Hyper armor is when poise actually becomes active. The higher your poise, the more hyper armor you have and therefore you have a lower chance of being stunned out of your attack.

If you mean 1v1, then Quality/Dex dominates. However, there's pretty much no such thing as a 1v1 in Dark Souls 3 right now and beating gank squads pretty much entirely depends on how much damage you can deal per hit. STR or Pyro is easily the best at doing this. If you're getting ganked by 4 dudes with FUGS, your best bet is to use FUGS too.

I didn't have a problem with him first time round but in NG+ he seems to be wildly aggressive and performs nothing but homing combos and lightning attacks. I've watched videos of other people fighting him in NG+ and he doesn't seem so aggressive with them, am I missing something?

hey /dsg/, could you please give me some advice?
i'm playing scholar on pc, trying to do a dex build. i've been using the falchion for most of the game so far (just finished iron keep), and i've been trying the great reaper. i fucking hate the falchion, but it's currently my strongest/best weapon aside from the reaper. i like the reaper, except that some of the swings cause the player to step back slightly, which is taking a little bit of getting used to. my other gripe is that it seems to clang off walls so easily.
can /dsg/ recommend a replacement for the reaper? i like having range, and the piercing thing is quite useful too. there's a reaper dropped by the artificial undead, is that any good? i don't own one but i can always grind those 4 near the bonfire in harvest valley. the washing pole is lovely, but that 20 durability is a pain.
the other thing i need some help with is titanite chunks. they seem to be harder to find than slabs, i had 11 slabs and more than 5 fully upgraded titanite items in my first playthrough, but once i'd used all the found/bought chunks i resorted to farming dragon aerie.
i know about the bell towers, but i'm kind of mediocre at pvp, and i usually have to wait a while for a chance at getting a chunk.
any help would be really wonderful, thanks /dsg/.

The retail release on PS4 just had online patched into the game and it also significantly lowered the framerate - I'm getting huge frame drops even when just running around Firelink, and almost every area is getting it.
If you use the red eye orb as a darkmoon will you get an ear for a successful invasion or do you have to be summoned as a defender for way of blue members to level up the covenant?
