I think that leak we got from the Japanese playtesting a month or so ago about a farming implement called the "Saw Cleaver" is bullshit.
I've been farming the villagers and fat guys, thinking it was either the machete the villagers are using or the literal saw the big guys are using with a mimic head, covetous gold serpent ring and 50 luck and found literally nothing. Not for 30 minutes, mind you, but 5+ hours over two days.
Either the drop rate is .000000000001% or it just doesn't exist.

Yo, I'm playing Das3 , got a question to ask to any other guys playing. I'm trying to use Great Magic Weapon, and for the life of me I can't make this shit work. desu i never used it in other games. it's attuned, i've got the reqs for it and the most basic catalyst, and i cant cast it in right or left hand, with it and the weapon i wanna enchant in opposite hands, just can't get it to work. am i dumb as fuck or is something not going right? Also, i keep finding ash that tells me the shrine maiden will make new items, but i take it to her, her being the shopkeep, and she acknowledges it but never actually gets new items except for when i kill bosses.

Now try a Luck build.
Luck works by taking the scaling of what was there, and then making it better and just scaling in luck.
Problem is, there are only 2 fucking hollow infuse stones in the entire game, and you need to fully upgrade a weapon to find out if luck works crappypoopdicks on it.
You basically have to play through the entire game using the blueblood sword 2.0, pretty sucky. Should've given out hollowstones alot more freely to try out on shit imo. They're the rarest material in the game, rarer than slabs.

I was actually referencing a luck build since I'm going on the assumption that luck scaling is a factor of the weapon's original scaling, so the higher the scale the better.
I'm actually fine with anri's sword assuming I can get it decently early. It has passive regen and I was aiming towards a fai/luk build anyway.
The only thing I haven't settled on is str/dex for minimum weapon requirements because I have no idea what weapons would be good with a hollow infusion. I did not know that hollow was so rare. Are you sure there is no way to farm it? How early can you get the first stone?

You only get the ember to luck infuse in the damn dungeons, well after abysswatchers.
Need to find what weapons work best, it would seem faster/lower base damage stuff.
Maybe claws/daggers/ might be good? Bleed damage, low base damage, afaik usually get decent scaling by the end.

If I count Bloodborne, probably Rom the Vacuous Spider who stonewalled me the first two characters I made before they made him easier and I figured out how to fight him. Ebrietas on my first playthrough and most of the high level Cursed Chalice Dungeon bosses made me nearly lose my mind.
As for Souls? All Dark Souls 2. Vanilla Royal Rat Authority FUCK YOU. He is so easy in comparison now. Also Fume Knight pre-sotfs. (Ancient Dragon I beat once and never again, but a pointless boss that I died countless times to.)

One of my gripes with 3 is that it feels like the ratio of new gear to old gear is skewed way too hard in favour of old.
It definitely feels like there's more returning stuff than new, and that a lot of stuff that SHOULD be new gear, isn't. I can't help but feel that things like Pontiff's set and whatnot got cut so that Miyazaki could fit in yet another amazing reference to that thing he did 7 years ago.
