There's no excuse for this shit. Incursions are just them buying time, because they don't have any substantial content planned for the game ever.
There won't be a Taken King that completely comes in and fixes all the problems. All the content they've got planned is going to be more wasted potential with what was a brilliant idea. The DZ was always the central focus of this game, and they're completely fucking it up by not addressing the glaring issues.
They're not going to change the fact that the map becomes un-used at level 30. Literally, an entire game's worth of content is no longer being visited because all anyone ever does is teleport to the daily challenge missions.

The game isn't going to be realized in it's potential, and you're either a Massive employee doing damage control, or you're a fucking blind fan-boy.

Does anyone else think this game would be better if they took a dayz approach to the DZ and made all the AI die from a much smaller number of rounds? Like, unshielded shots to the face with rifle rounds being a OHK?
I wanted Splinter Cell: "Fuck up the criminals of New York" edition, but what I got was shit loot and bulletsponge enemies: The Game.
The fact that suppressors have next to no effect, even at range, boggles my mind. A suppressed subsonic rifle/pistol at 40 feet is pretty fucking quiet. At that point, the bullet hitting the target is the loudest thing the target would hear.

not entirely sure what you mean. they are separate stats, with separate bonuses that affect them. more crit chance doesn't increase crit damage, just crit chance and vice versa.
If you wanted to have innate stats, Crit Damage on LMG and Knockback Resistance on Shotguns are pretty good

i think you're supposed to be in the dark zone during your entire level progression from around 10 or so until 30. then those level 30 DZ items would help out a lot, at least for a bit. but yes, at level 30 there's no real point ot them.

well crit chance caps at 60% and crit damage is i believe 200%. since SMGs come with a base crit chance, you can more easily spec those towards damage since you've got an easy guaranteed chance amount.

Not the same anon but it seems like those chests have ridiculously low drop rates for HE (like, well, everything else I guess), and most of the ones I find are already looted anyway.
Just like most of the RNG in the Division, the problem is not any one aspect, but the compounding of a bunch of small shitty things. If DZ blueprints required HE DivTech but you had some better control over the RNG for the item in question, maybe it'd be okay. If the non-DZ blueprints for weapons weren't dowsed in not 3 but 4 layers of RNG selection (3 talents and the DMG roll), then maybe it'd be okay.
Sadly neither is the case. It's one thing I really hope they change more significantly because as it stands there's no *practical* way to make any build outside of a balanced/DPS mess unless you have the patience to sift through the Dark Zone for upwards of 30 hours. And, even the new Gear Sets in the Incursions may not alleviate this much if they leave the skill caps as-is and don't make the turret less than semi-useless at higher levels.

You could buy an assault rifle or mask for bird bux and it would give you a randomly rolled item.

In the beginning of Diablo 3, it was all RNG on top of RNG.
You'd get a quiver, or whatever, that had ALMOST the right stats for you.
Then you'd find a legendary shield that ALMOST gave you what you needed.
It lead to a lot of people getting angry and quitting over how bullshit it had become.
Blizzard said that their intention was to make players "excited when they got the perfect piece of loot." and that when they got RNG shit it would "motivate them to get out there and kill more to try and find better loot"
all it did was piss people off and discourage them from playing
Luckily, Blizzard realized their mistake, killed the RMAH, which was a dumb fucking idea in any loot-driven game, and released Reaper of Souls.

You're missing the point, which is of course for the longevity of the game, there's going to be necessary, game-changing patches needed.
Ubsioft, has a terrible track record with this, and Massive, a virgin in the MMO market, will likely not do what is necessary to keep the game alive. Incursions are shit. That much is confirmed. A horde mode with only 4-players is as low-effort as it gets in these type of games. Ubisoft's season passes are never revitalizing game changers. They're typically just supplemental bullshit DLCs to fulfill their promise to people who were dumb enough to buy them. The game was good. I loved it. But now that PvP is all tank builds. And Incursions are confirmed shit, the game is as good as DoA.
I hope I'm wrong. Really, I do. I had a lot of fun playing with my friends, and The Division is a great co-op experience. But it will never be the MMO people want it to be.

There are only three main stats, and somehow one of them is almost completely useless. The game is designed like a class based game but with one class: pure DPS. Some of the abilities are designed for literally no one, like the bonus exp from accolades that you can only get after you hit the level cap. Many of the weapon abilities are completely useless and feel like duds inserted to keep people gambling. Even if it's not organized the same, it still suffers from the same issues.

What you're looking for is high crit chance / dmg. So any talents that factor into that. If you do PvE mostly, the armor destruction talent is a good one to have. Personally, I'd rather have self-preserved to heal on crit. The crafting screen will tell you what the upper limit on the per shot damage is based on your firearms score.

I'm pretty sure crit chance/dmg goes into your DPS number, but yeah, the number can be artificially inflated and shouldn't really be the only thing you're looking at. You'll want stability / ROF / mag size / + more crit dmg on your mods. Remember crit dmg bonus is uncapped while crit chance is capped at 60%.

I don't think the complaint was ever that there weren't enough rogues so much as the dark zone in general was kind of dead. The devs should have waited a bit before changing it for more people to be at lvl 30 since I know there was a prevailing feeling that the DZ / high end loot wasn't worth going after until you hit the level cap. I agree with you, the rewards in the DZ need to be increased across the board. Increased for surviving rogue/manhunt, for downing rogues / agents playing cops, etc.

The whole 'need rank 50' system to get good weapons was a big mistake.
They should keep the rankings, remove the barriers of ranks for blueprints, and add rewards like cosmetics, player-owned safehouses and weapons customizations tied to the rank.

Bro, it's not even hard to kill rogues. Just cheat. Almost all of them are using some sort of hack on PC. You might think, "fuck that I don't want to cheat, i don't need that!" but you fucking do.
There is no way a normal player can go head to head with a group of rogues now that easy hacks are so common. There are even more advanced hacks that most entry level cheats will get shit on by. I've had people flashbang me at 100m+ to stop me from getting away, I've had people teleport away (not just a small distance) right before i kill them when they realize that I'm not a normal player, etc.

Farm Hutch for as long as you can before the patch. You'll get yourself some decent purples and phoenix credits, plus a LOT of scrap mats you can use for high end blueprints.
Failing that, farm General Assembly til you have level 30 purples in every slot.
Once that's out of the way, you can start grinding the Dark Zone for better purples/phoenix credits and, most importantly, ranks - or you can just sit on your laurels and do the daily challenges every day.
Once you have any phoenix credits to speak of, go check out the special vendor next to the recal station. Buy blueprints first.

It's not 1 single shot, the rpm is just so high that it sounds like a single round. Secret to beating them out is popping blue and hoping they don't have EPs. They'll go through ammo too quick and have to go away. You can always tell when someone is using an RPM hack because they'll have the reload station down. Move away from it and they'll have to come burn ammo.
I say this as someone who hacks, you really can't make yourself invincible for the most part. Not that I've seen at least. If someone pops blue while I'm shooting them, I have to fuck off or I'm going to get worked unless my own sig is up.

I get a lot more gun drops with high scavenging, since it's been ~200% I've only had one performance mod and gun customisation item, the rest were guns, shit guns, but still guns. farming/grinding dz 5 and 6 is fun and easy with an lfg group, but everyone is a dps snob so its hard to get into a group sometimes as a balanced/skill build
and the games matchmaking more often than not puts me with a bunch of purple gear dipshits who go rogue against everything they see and get schwacked, never go past dz2, and fucking never have mics.
at 38, i can gain a few levels an hour, or spend 2 hours just trying to find a decent group.

Neither did most people actually. TKK only sold a couple million compared to the mainline Destiny. It still was profitable and made Activision a lot of money, but they now realized they have to change how they market Destiny and how they monetize the game.
DLC's and Seasons Pass for Destiny were pretty much dead, which is why you didn't get a second Seasons Pass after TKK.

A lot of the friends I play with are only just getting to 30 and finding their first level HE gear, and struggle with DZ05/06 mobs. I have to handhold and carry them through most high-level DZ and challenging stuff, and I'm not even that well-geared myself. I think for the vast majority of normal players, the difficulty level of the "hard" incursion will be just about right, and for the geared-up hardcores, Challenging exists.

I've played WoW and Everquest and Destiny's *raid* was more a raid than half the shit you would ever encounter in classic Everquest. Half of the raid mobs, like Lady Vox, were just a beefed up damage sponge that required multiple groups - but no real crazy mechanics.
The Destiny raid is more reflective of modern MMO design - less people but higher level of play. Even WoW has dropped their raids from 40+ players down to 10 and 20 man raids. You need to split up and control the raid, each accomplishing different tasks in tandem. Destiny's raid required, very much, coordinated effort to split up. Everyone had to do their part. It felt really good, which was weird given how much the rest of the game was lacking.

The content in the game is lacking. The game is filled with bugs, exploits and bad design choices. The end game is non-existent. The Dark Zone launched as it did even after the alphas and betas showing how broken it is - and even post patch the DZ only really "works" from levels 1-29 where people play as intended. The game is filled with endless amounts of cheaters.
Gear disparity at 30 is laughably wide and there is currently no indicators to gauge just how strong a player is, given the most visible aspects of their gear are the cosmetics, not the items with stats.
There is no end game period.
The game has, so far, done nothing right. To reserve judgement implies that Incursions will likely somehow be better than the game or provide much needed fixes to the very real problems the game has.
Everyone has an open mind here, everyone is going to give the Incursion a shot. But everyone knows it's likely going to be just as bad as everything else in this game to date - the 6 minute video showcasing the Incursion basically leaves us with very little hope.
When the Incursion drops, and it's shit, will we be told to wait for the next DLC as it might be better and fix the problems?

I never did a whole lot in FFXIV, I'll say that much, but what little I saw was very much just *avoid the damage circles on the ground for AOE attacks* and *attack the thing that spawned before the boss instakills your group*
Destiny's raid had a lot of co-ordinated parts to them, but there were also a lot of moments that came down to individual skill. Certain parts of the raid pretty much encouraged you to scatter and shoot enemies on your own - which was fine
But you can't say there was no strategy in the raid, because I did that raid atleast 20 times and even though it got easier and was more clockwork, there still was specific steps to do and coaching less knowledgeable players about how to do the role we assigned them.

If nothing else, it's just because the level of map and enemy detail that's expected in a modern shooter-style game is so much higher than what WoW or whatever could get away with that it takes just as long to make that seven hour raid as it did to make one of the epic raids in traditional MMOs.
Of course, I also think that to some degree it's done on purpose. If it takes a very dedicated group, who are likely to be quite good players, seven hours to complete a raid, how long is it going to take a future casual group who doesn't watch tutorials and cheese everything? I think the only real PvP action is going on the lower levels where people just are playing the game for casual fun. The DZ30 area is a shell of what it should be for the most part.
The really high level players trolling for kills with zero effort in DZ01-DZ02 are killing the game on a range of levels. Being new players don't even bother to go after them (being the have no chance) and soon they no longer bother to go after any rogues. Figuring it's just another HE stacked out basement level player trolling.

also helps to switch skills around for each area... overdose with the talent that lowers skills cool down helps being someone is always hurt and I run that the entire time. First part, if they don't run the right side (and most newbies don't do that) it's healing station (with ammo).
Once you get to the main parking lot it's pulse or smart cover.. Tunnel is smart cover.. Final round is healing station or pulse if you can get away with it.
That's about it and just know that even when they can't take one sniper shot or kill any rushers they will still look at you healing them 24/7/365 and book out to middle of fucking no where for some reason

It's not that there's nothing to do, is that even if there was more to do, it wouldn't be worth doing.
If you had 50 missions you'd only be doing them once and then sticking to dailies, If you had five times as many encounters you'd be doing them until you made your base to 100% and then ignore them completely, If you had ten times as much DZ ground you'd still be doing DTech routes and then getting bored of farming enemies and finding the hacker teleporting around the map or going to the same usual manhunt spot where people just go up a cord and camp that cord until it's over.

I've found it not too difficult to drop a stacked rogue if you are careful. I like to stalk rogues just out of sight, away from the mass of players that usually attack them. Game should have different PK system, for example something like this:
You have new skill - outlaw (or something, w/e) when you use it and you shoot enemies you go rogue, and others can shoot you without being tagged as rogue. If you dont have outlaw turned on, and you shoot other people, they dont take damage, and you dont get marked as rogue, that would prevent others covering rogues.
To sum up, you turn on outlaw - you hit player - rogue, can get hit by others without them needing to be in rogue. You dont turn on outlaw - you hit player - not go rogue, player doesnt take damage.
