Sometimes if you wander near the one near the floor they activate, I was farming them for fibre optics the other day and it happened a few times. If you hit the button next to the door the lasers reset and you can farm them for infinite fibre optics, I was doing it for Automatron.

So I spend all this time building a character and run out of quests to do... Then what? I have to make a new character and do the same story all over again. Yeah, you got choices, but those also get dull after a while. The only thing NV had going for it is quests. Once that's done, there's nothin'. Disappointing map, no random encounters, no radiants, no new challenges, nothing. All these exotic hundreds of weapons I've never used with nothing to do with them but delete and start over. Would anybody with the technical ability be willing to back-port Fallout 4's T-51 helmet to the Fallout 3/NV engine?
I really prefer the older games (due to the slim pickings as of right now in Fallout 4's modding scene) but really dislike what the T-51 helmet looked like in those games and would like to use Fallout 4's version as a replacer.
I can do all the work of implementing it into the game as a replacer with the GECK and would gladly upload it here, but need help with the actual conversion.

This is still totally unreliable though. The game bugs out with settlement stats when the player isn't around, e.g. it shows as having 0 beds/defences/etc. when checked. This is probably why my 999+ defence sunlight drive in gets shit all over by a few gunners all of the time.

I pretty much agree with what he wrote. There's nothing to do in NV but side quests. There's no good dungeons, no cool areas to explore, and nowhere to go if you want to pick a fight.
Like by the time I get a cool weapon like A Light Shining in the Darkness or the Survivalist Rifle everything on the map is dead and there's nothing left to do.

You turn on Survival and walk the entire commonwealth with your best gear to find worthy opponents. Mirelurk Queens, Mythic Legendary Deathclaws, Sentry Siegebreakers, etc.
And with new Survival coming out it'll be even better with diseases and such. It beats NV endgame.

I dont know how bethesda thought those things were ok, if you look at how they do damage in the xedit they do 100% damage across all 'pellets' and another 100% damage for each mini explosion that each pellet generates. So for a direct hit with a laser shotgun its something like 500% damage.
